Dear Ms Fourniol

I am writing concerning Nicholas Kollerstrom who I understand is a Research Fellow at UCL.

You may be interested to note that Mr Kollerstrom is an active supporter of Holocaust Denial and has written extensively about the subject on the internet.

Mr Kollerstrom claims:

“As surprising as it may sound, the only intentional mass extermination program in the concentration camps of WW2 was targeted at Germans. From April, 1945 five million Germans were rounded up after surrendering, and deliberately starved until well over one million had died” (1)

as well as:

“Let us hope the schoolchildren visitors are properly taught about the elegant swimming-pool at Auschwitz, built by the inmates, who would sunbathe there on Saturday and Sunday afternoons while watching the water-polo matches; and shown the paintings from its art class, which still exist; and told about the camp library which had some forty-five thousand volumes for inmates to choose from, plus a range of periodicals; and the six camp orchestras at Auschwitz/Birkenau, its the theatrical performances, including a children’s opera, the weekly camp cinema, and even the special brothel established there. Let’s hope they are shown postcards written from Auschwitz, some of which still exist, where the postman would collect the mail twice-weekly.” (2)

Dr Kollerstrom regularly uses his PhD when publishing his views on the holocaust and also posts on internet forums under the name astro3.

Dr Kollerstrom is active in the 9/11 ‘Truth’ Movement who claim that the events of 9/11 and 7/7 were an inside job and has been accused by survivors of the 7th July tube bombings of harrassment. (3)

I bring this matter to your attention as I am aware that UCL has a strict policy on discrimination and racism and find it concerning to say the least that this individual may be involved in teaching or working with students.

It would obviously be very diastressing for some students were they lectured or in any other way expected to associate with this individual given the views he so publicly disseminates.

Furthermore I would suggest that this brings the reputation of the University into disrepute as his views are now well known as is the fact that he is a Research Fellow at UCL.

If you are not the correct individual to comment on this matter I would be grateful if you could forward this email onto the appropriate person.

I anticipate your response with interest.

Regards

Johnny Void
