Malicious, Unsubstantiated and Tasteless – the post that led to Atos attacking the Carerwatch forums

Due to the annual festival to celebrate the murder of a hippy 2000 years ago, I’ve been a bit late with this.  The Guardian recently featured a revealing film made by Jon Ronson about the attempts of disability denying filth Atos ‘Healthcare’ to censor any criticisms of them published on the internet.

Atos carry out the notorious Work Capability Assessment, a computer based test designed to strip benefits from sick and disabled people by declaring them not sick or disabled enough.  A recent Daily Mirror investigation has revealed that 32 people are dying each week after being found ‘fit for work’ by the company.

Last year several websites were shut down after Atos issued legal threats to web hosting companies. One of those sites was the Carer Watch forum which was discussed in Ronson’s video.  The Carer Watch forum was closed due to a link to this site which Atos claim in a statement featured a post which was malicious, unsubstantiated and tasteless.  This site never received any communications from either Atos or wordpress.com where this blog is hosted.

There is no law which states global corporations can shut down and censor websites over content they consider to be tasteless.  You cannot be malicious to a corporation.  It is not a human being.  As for unsubstantiated, well it’s reproduced below, decide for yourself.

Should Atos fancy an expensive, embarrassing and protracted McLibel style legal battle then do please get in touch.

(after Atos’ legal onslaught last year many websites openly defied their legal threats, with re-designing the Atos logo becoming an online sport)

Atos Macht Frei – Atos Origin Team Up With Gas Chamber Firm!

Atos Origin, the poverty pimps currently pocketing hundreds of millions harassing people who are claiming sickness or disability benefits have teamed up with manufacturers of the holocaust’s gas chambers Siemens.

Siemens will contribute its Siemens IT Solutions & Services for €850-million to Atos Origin and become a shareholder of Atos Origin with a 15% stake.

Siemens are most famous for their use of slave labour during the holocaust.  Prisoners were utilised by Siemens to build the gas chambers in which they would eventually be murdered.  Siemens ran factories at Ravensbrück and in the Auschwitz subcamp of Bobrek, whilst the company supplied electrical parts to other concentration camps.

Atos Origin should fit right in with these former eugenicists as they carry out their state funded program to strip both benefits and dignity from those in society deemed to be unproductive.

Some have criticised the use of nazi imagery by some disability and claimants activists recently.  However the parallels between the current Government’s attitude to disability and the early days of the Nazi regime in 1930s Germany are increasingly hard to ignore.  The above poster is directly based on Nazi propaganda at the time which attempted to use fears about the economy to stigmatise disabled people (the original poster can be viewed here along with many other examples).

The present day smear campaign against those with disabilities or illness is relentless.  The right wing press spew out daily lies about benefit fraud and scroungers whilst Disability Minister Maria Miller has claimed the cost of disability benefits (and therefore presumably disabled people) is ‘unsustainable’.

As early as 1933 the Nazis passed a law passed ordering enforced sterilisation of the disabled and long term sick, something that today might be seen as many Daily Mail columnist’s greatest fantasy. Later came the infamous Aktion T4 euthanasia programme when hundreds of thousands of people with disabilities were murdered.  The medical profession notoriously facilitated many of these deaths.

Atos Origin are currently recruiting healthcare workers and doctors across the UK.  Plans to retest everyone on sickness benefits and apply similar tests to those currently claiming Disability Living Allowance will require a lot of doctors.   GPs, consultants or other experts with an in depth knowledge of their patient’s condition will be ignored however.  These health professionals are not trusted to make a decision on their patients ability to work (yet strangely are going to be trusted to control the NHS budget).   Only Atos doctors,  nurses and other unspecified ‘healthcare’ workers are involved in the decision, which is based on a short test and interview.  With huge numbers of those denied benefits having them re-instated on appeal it appears that in a ‘target driven environment’ Atos doctors simply work to rule, regardless of the long cherished medical idiom of ‘first do no harm’.

Disability message boards and blogs have been inundated with people threatening suicide due to these plans.  It is impossible to know how many suicides have happened already as a result of Atos Origin’s medical tests.  Enforced euthanasia may not be the intention of this government’s policies, but in many cases it is likely to be the result.

In Nazi Germany the disabled and sick were seen as surplus to the task of building a mighty Reich.  In Cameron’s Britain the disabled and sick are seen as surplus to the task of ‘bringing down the deficit’.  What counted in Hitler’s day was whether you were a good soldier, industrialist, scientist or labourer.  Under Fascism people were judged purely on their ability to contribute to the goal of German imperialism and genocidal savagery.  Under capitalism we are judged purely on our ability to create wealth for those at the top.  If you ain’t making the rich money, then they couldn’t care whether you live or die.  Nazism it ain’t, we’re a long way from that.  But if it takes being a little bit nazi to continue to line the pockets of the filthy rich, well then it takes being a little bit of nazi.  Now fuck off and get back to work.

Yet More Disappearing DWP Documents – Now It’s a Freedom of Information Request

The shameful attempt to cover up Iain Duncan Smith and Chris Grayling’s lies about workfare appears to have led to another document disappearing from the DWP’s website.  This follows the revelation yesterday that the Work Programme Provider guidance on the DWP’s website was altered last Friday to remove references to mandatory work experience.

The latest disappeared document, which was a response to a Freedom of Information request, revealed the names of several private companies who have enjoyed free forced labour under the government’s Work Programme scheme.

The document revealed that claimants have been placed at Poundland, ASDA, Wilkinsons and many other private sector companies. Once again this document proves that Chris Grayling was lying when he said “There is no circumstance in which we would mandate any individual to take part in work activity for a big company, that doesn’t happen.”

The document could previously be found at: http://www.dwp.gov.uk/docs/foi-3238-2011.pdf

You can even view where it used to be on google:

Unfortunately it’s no longer there.  But that’s okay because good old google cache has a copy of this as well.

This FOI request was only published in December 2011.  Less than 3 months later it appears that Freedom of Information has been sacrificed to protect lying government ministers.

Some extracts of the disappeared document are below:

If further proof were needed that this is being done to cover up for Chris Grayling and Iain Duncan Smith’s lies, then this older FOI response (PDF), which is still available on the DWP website, is revealing. This happens to show that work experience placements happen to have only involved working for charities in the Maidenhead area. In this case there is no reference to private companies. It is clear from the document above that this is not the case throughout the country. But since this document supports the minister’s claims it gets to stay, those that prove they are lying bastards are removed.

The Great Atos Rebrand – Update

The challenge to redesign the logo of poverty pimps Atos is rolling along quite nicely with creative versions of the Atos logo cropping up all over the place.

The fine folk at Schnews have this to offer:

We’ve also had some turn up in the comments from Doggy and Katie:

Finally the just turned eight year old would be disappointed not to be included:

Lots of sites are also now carrying rebranded logos and copies of the piece which initially led Atos to use dodgy legal threats to have the Carer Watch forums closed down.

and from here:

Here’s a current list, apologies to anyone missed, please put a link in the comments and we’ll keep it updated.

Keep ’em coming …

A National Day of Action Against Atos has been called for September 30th.

Police Fitwatch Blog Censorship Attempt Laughed Off By Internet

Within just a couple of hours of the news that the police had closed down the fitwatch website the piece which so offended the sensitive flowers has been blooming across the internet.

Fitwatch are a loose organisation who for several years have narked off the filth by exposing, blocking and challenging the Forward Intelligence Teams (FIT), the branch of the police used to spy on and harass protesters.  If you’ve ever been on a demo or even at a community festival or football match then you may have noticed them pointing a camera at you because they’re too scared and lazy to be proper coppers.

After last weeks events at Millbank during the student demonstrations fitwatch.org.uk published some advice for those worried they had appeared in the press and may face arrest.  The piece called Beating police repression after the student occupation can be read on this blog and now, thanks to the bungling Met a growing number of sites across the internet.

The fitwatch site was shut down on request of Acting Detective Inspector Will Hodgeson from CO11. Early reports suggest that this happened due to a request from the police to the site’s host complaining the site may be involved in perverting the cause of justice. This is a worrying development. Whilst we will doubtless know more tomorrow, as yet it does not seem a Court Order has been issued, which means the filth are now bullying internet hosting companies into removing material which upsets them.

The good news is that the offending piece, now being much discussed on twitter can be found at:

and here: http://norfolknonaligned.wordpress.com/2010/11/15/beating-police-repression-after-the-student-occupation/

and also at

Watch the film the police tried to ban!

We’re a bit late with this one, but here we go.

Gormless plod have extended their campaign of censorship nationwide after several independant cinemas across the UK were ordered to halt screenings of ‘On the Verge’, a film about the protests aimed at arms manufacturers EDO MBM.

According to activists:

“So far establishments in Southampton, Chichester and Bath and Oxford as well as Brighton have come under police pressure to cancel film showings. In Brighton police intervened to prevent a showing at the Duke of York’s Cinema.”

Police claim that the film has not been issued with certification, however as spokesman for the production company SchMovies, Steven Bishop says:

“I am extremely disappointed but not entirely surprised by the police’s action. There may be issues with certification but as we’re not charging for entry this shouldn’t be an issue. If the police really had problems over the certificate they could have approached us at a much earlier stage. Our film although focussing mainly on the rights and wrongs of protest shows a number of examples of questionable police behaviour – Perhaps this is why they left their move so late”

The film is set to be screened tonight (27th March) at the Kebele Centre in bristol with a London screening at The Foundry, 86 Great Eastern St, London on the 1st April and then at radical bookshop Housmans on the 11th April.

Many other venues around the country are set to show the film in the upcoming weeks, check the tour dates for details.

Wikileaks Under Threat!

Transparency website Wikileaks is under threat after being issued with an injunction by a US court. The problems began when someone loaded up published several hundred documents from a Swiss banking whistleblower purportedly showing that Bank Julius Baer and its Cayman Islands subsidiary had been involved in offshore tax evasion and money laundering by extremely wealthy and, in some cases, politically sensitive clients from the US, Europe, China and Peru.

Last week the San Francisco District Court ordered Wikileak’s DNS registrar, Dynadot, to remove all DNS hosting records for the wikileaks.org domain name and prevent it from resolving to the wikileaks.org website or any other website or server other than a blank park page.

Political Censorship? Conspiracy? Cock Up?

Lots to do, full story soon.

In the meantime we’ll just point out that we’ve recently been getting lots of hits from: pnn.police.uk (U.K.).

Did the old bill shut down the void?

Cyber ASBOs Could Silence Bloggers

Worrying news reaches us of the 17 year old who was yesterday given an ASBO for posting comments slagging the old bill, bigging up the ganja and confessing to nicking a car on his Bebo site.

In the first ever case of it’s kind the wee scally has been banned from publishing material online which is “threatening or abusive” or “promotes criminal activity”.

Norfolk police’s PC Tim Chapman said: “The comments on the Bebo website demonstrated his attitude towards offending, the community and the police.”

We reckon the plod prick should roll up a fat one and chill for a while.

If widely used this could drive thousands of blogs and websites underground, forcing us into dingy cyber-cafs to type our insurrectionary drivel. It could also hit political sites which encourage people to carry out direct action.

And what about all those happy-slapping videos on youtube, all that flawless editing and raw creativity down the pan.

Meanwhile the Lyrical Terrorist was handed a 9 month suspended sentence yesterday for writing bad poetry and possession of materials legal to own unless you happen to be muslim.

She was spared jail after the court heard she had been acting immaturely and had recently changed her style of poetry to talking about love and flowers and children … aaaah.

Whilst neither of the above cases invites huge amounts of sympathy, when they start hauling people before the court for what they write then we’re in trouble particularly here at the void.

So for one last time, smash the state, fuck the police, destroy capitalism … oh and skin up.

Tomorrow we’ll start posting about bunny rabbits and Squirrel Nutkin.
