Some Homelessness Charities Are Not What They Seem. Make Sure You’re Not Killing With Kindness.

killing8

You could be killing with kindness if you give money to some homelessness charities.

Many well-meaning people donate spare change to homelessness charities without realising they might be supporting policies which harm, and could even kill homeless people.

Several homeless charities use workfare staff who face benefit sanctions if they refuse to work for free.  These sanctions have been linked to suicides, homelessness, ill health and desperate poverty.  Both the Salvation Army and the YMCA are heavily involved with workfare.

Despite many tragic deaths on the streets many homelessness charities oppose help being given directly such as soups runs.  One organisation (Thamesreach) even supported a Tory council’s failed attempt to make it illegal to give food to homeless people.

Thamesreach, again, and St Mungo’s carry out a racist repatriation scheme on behalf of the Tory government in which workers are sent out to coerce homeless migrants to go back to where they came from. Thamesreach have also been involved in ‘supporting’ squat evictions.

Many homelessness charities have co-operated with the police to run anti-begging campaigns which stereotype homeless people as drug addicts or criminals.  Homeless people already often face abuse and even violence from some members of the public – these campaigns make that more likely.

Most homelessness charities which beg for money aren’t really poor.  Chief Executives are often paid huge sums whilst the homelessness industry holds regular conferences in swanky hotels where tickets can cost as much as £600!

By giving money to homelessness charities you are encouraging behaviour which often harms homeless people.  Give responsibly and give direct to the homeless this Christmas.  If you are concerned about rising homelessness then contact a local housing campaign and get involved.

Happy Christmas folks – jv

fuck christmas, but rest up if you can coz next yr is looking grimmer than ever… but definitely get involved, as much as you can and give to people, not ‘charities’…

  3. ah the salvation army kind to themselves but charity no longer it deals in slaves oh salvation at hand not for you but alass there far to many who take the governments blood monies for ones body but then seeing homeless people better buy that warm meal and drink then atleast one nows no ones driven around with fat cigar and rolls jeff3

    • The Sally Army are just churchy do-gooders but there are some brilliant charities working for the homeless. Crisis do amazing work and there are lots of smaller locally based charities that they fund. As for the money the Chief Execs earn? Well, a decent sized charity needs good, experienced and commercially aware management. Look at the responsibility they have? What do you suggest? £30k a year? Minimum wage? SOME positions are actually worth high salaries. That’s how the free market works.

      • They shouldn’t be getting anything near £30,000 a year. In the position they’re in, bearing in mind it’s a homeless charity, they should either be doing it for nothing or very little. If they want to make money then ply their CEO trade for a company somewhere and don’t expect to get paid a high salary off the back of the homeless.

        Greedy bastards.

        • £30,000 a year doesn’t buy you an effective CEO. Pay peanuts, get monkeys. £30,000 really isn’t a great salary! Wake up. Not everyone earning more than minimum wage is one of the (Hated) Rich. They’re just smart people capable of doing a decent job. That doesn’t make them bad people. Get over your narrow minded stigma!

          • Homeless charity shouldn’t be used as a means of earning a salary off the backs of other people’s misfortunes.

As i stated earlier if earning a salary is more important than helping people in need then get a CEO job with a Corporation somewhere not one exploiting others situation.

It’s not hard to understand you just need to try a bit more.

            • Yes, of course, you’ll get a high calibrate CEO to do it for fuck all. I’m sure that’ll feed his family. You honestly have not a fucking clue do you. Do you do lots of voluntary work? Anyway, enjoy your life in LaLa Land you dumb twat.

              • overburdenddonkey

                eh! homelessness is getting WORSE…

              • Now Daz, calm down, it’s the season of goodwill and all that. 😀

If the wage is more important than helping people then, as i stated, the CEO can get a job for another company instead of exploiting homeless people’s situations.

                Have a think about it.

                • Looks to me like it’s the season for sticking your head up your arse. I assume you also believe in Santa and Unicorns?

                • Oh yes, Christmas, peace and love and light another spliff …….. don’t thing that’s going to fix the homelessness problem either though!

                • overburdenddonkey

nor have homeless charities fixed homelessness…that would be bad for business…

                • Yeah, lets shut down all the homeless charities. They’re the only people who actually DO have a handle on the situation. But, anyway, the fuckers should all be doing it for free so we’ll shut the Capitalist bastards down. Serves them right …… then we’ll just have homeless people with no support at all apart from the fucking Sally Army who are mostly weirdos and possibly abusers. Well done. You’ve made an extremely good point guys …… except you have no sensible alternatives at all. Wake the fuck up!

                • overburdenddonkey

the solution to homelessness ie being without a home, is to build more HOMES..NOT manage the homeless…

                • So what did you do to help the homeless over Christmas then? Banged away on your keyboard?

                • overburdenddonkey

a typical response from someone who’s argument has hit a brick wall….

              • Excellent link. Well done. I’ll print a few copies and hand them out to some of the poor sods lying in doorways in our local town. I’m certain they’ll be impressed. Long term planning is one thing but homelessness, when it happens, is a crisis and needs an appropriate and pragmatic response. Trust me, I know. I’ve been involved for years. You honestly have no idea – and this isn’t an argument!

                • overburdenddonkey

                  long term planning….??
his designs are 30+yrs old, the no homes problem has been on the map since ww2, and successively ignored by govts and ngo’s, in favour of housing shortages…’is a crisis and needs an appropriate and pragmatic response..’ the crisis never goes away until there is a pragmatic and appropriate response to housing shortages…ie the root cause of the problem in the 1st place, where is that response…!!??…

                • Lovely, so we’ll get planning and let the current bunch of street homeless die shall we?

                • overburdenddonkey

no of course not, but what about the future, or can’t your mind stretch into the next moment…future victims of homelessness?…ad infinitum…which is obviously what i’m saying…you know, a dual actioned approach…

                • I think you’ll find that’s what charities like Crisis are involved in. It’s rather obvious

                • overburdenddonkey

is that what/all you do, go round and round in circles….! i’m done with you…

                • I was right the first time I said it …… and I’m still right. You’re just a bit of a twat aren’t you? Bye for now.

                • overburdenddonkey

actually i’m diabetic, which luckily comes with a built in tosser alert to save wasting energy…

      • Daz Taylor are you spliffed out of your head or something, you have tunnel vision and only appear to be able to see one side of the argument regarding CEO’s taking a wage for charities and everyone else working for free. Most CEO’s are total inadequates themselves so your peanut and monkey theory doesn’t hold much water, unless of course you were referring to yourself being worth peanuts when looking at things objectively.

  4. i have over 40 years of dealing with charities and in the main are false. they are big business disguised as a Charity

And as to who may benefit from a charitable point of view is anyone’s guess but in most cases all you will get are nice words and thats about it

but as for any type of help i would say don’t count on it

  5. Enforced DWP DESTITUTION

    O B donkey

you’re very smart. got any good ideas for a bundle of late JSA appeals sent together. Fucking DWP dated them 6 days before I even received them! so i only had 3 weeks to do them all 6 of them and they’ve taken since June 2014+ to send them to me despite asking for them at the time. The Fuckers deny receiving the requests of course so I thought i’d give them a piece of their own medicine. They were 8 days late as my l life has been thrown in to chaos as I have had no regular JSA for 2 years now and no money or resources as well as health issues malnutrition due no food.

I have to wait up to a month to hear from DWP cunts to see if they will object now but i will go nuts and say they should have sent them ages ago as my circumstances have obviously got far worse, virtually destitute.

    Many thanks.

Really appreciate it or anyone else any ideas?

    • overburdenddonkey

why a bundle…? send in late give the reasons, @ very least with proof of posting, record any phone calls and chase them up mainly by letter every wk…write also to the FtT send them your appeals and explain the situation, if not to the UtT…
i think i’ve posted to you before re this but just in case… http://edinburghagainstpoverty.org.uk/

      • overburdenddonkey

proof of posting certs are foc from your po when you hand the letter over @ counter and request one…

      • o b donkey

thank you so much. knew i could rely on you. couldn’t get back to you earlier as have to use pc in library and didn’t get your email till now.

sorry gave impression still haven’t sent them. I HAVE. Unfortuantely, a few wasted day got added on as I missed the post on the thursday and they didn’t get them till the monday which automatically added on another 5 wasted bloody days! So should only have been max 3 days over deadline!!!!!! So bloody annoying and the tribunal may have let it go! Got reply from the tribunal days later telling me they received them on the 14 dec. Deadline was 06 dec. Don’t have proof of postage as so poor re-used old 2nd class stamp. I’m not on phone and will never deal with these fraudsters by phone even if i had one – deal with them in writing – been so stitched up in past! Send them all together as received all of them on same day from DWP dated 06 dec. However, as stated there was virtually a week in between them sending them and me receiving them – something very deliberate about this. They’ve tried this on before but these are so overdue anyway there are too many other inconsistencies surrounding events here I don’t have time to go into so i know it was deliberate to trip me up especially when 3 of the appeals are for the same reason and so are the other 3! The tribunal’s letters x 6 (all the same – routine) say to wait 28 days to hear from the other side of any objections so it’s clear matters are out of my hands now and I have to wait to hear via them from DWP.

I thought of saying (and there is a lot of truth in this) they got mislaid somewhere – someone accidentally picked them up and they suddenly reappeared again/I was trying to obtain legal advice about my situation as the appeals were virtually about the same issues – if i failed one i would fail them all so this was very important and my goal. Because i was unable to get any help i had to keep trying other places and this took time bearing in mind i’d automatically lost a week anyway and this put me in an unfair advantage.

Any further ideas as you’re brilliant at this?

        • overburdenddonkey

don’t get what you mean ‘Any further ideas as you’re brilliant at this?’…
i’m having trouble making head or tail of what you’re saying…you mean you got my post…
you’ve sent the appeals into the tribunal is all one can do, now they let you know….get in touch with them to see if they’ve accepted them late, if one is concerned about this…tell them the truth, if there are any queries….get proof of posting with 2nd class stamp as well…

        • Sounds like someone is trying to make a mountain out of a mole-hill… 😉 As obd says all you can do is send the Appeals of. If you have missed a deadline and the Tribunal query it, and as you say, you have a valid reason just let them know, and they will probably just let it go. And if they have already acknowledged receipt of your Appeals with even mentioning the deadline unless you submit further evidence or something else that they will acknowledge the next you will probably hear it the Appeal date. What is the point of stressing over nothing? Or are others have said you could be just flyfawkes having a laff.

          • acknowledged receipt of your Appeals without even

            • overburdenddonkey

yep got the out was omitted…just keep sending relevant info in, if not included in the original, i think the deadline is 5 working days before the hearing…

              • Exactly! You can just keep adding to the “bundle” and in any case it will be months before the Tribunal calls. There is not rush; you have got plenty of time!

              • And all that you really need to submit is the general grounds of Appeal. Plenty of time to add evidence.

              • overburdenddonkey

yep, i appeal blah blah, copy of sick note(s), write on gl24 ‘i wish my esa payments to continue’ several times, NINO, name, signature on all docs incl continuation sheets, photocopy, get proof of posting/post it off…

                • overburdenddonkey

ps if appeal fails, don’t forget to ask for a statement of reasons, immediately in case one needs to apply for leave to appeal to UtT or to FtT for set aside…

    • What you are saying doesn’t even make sense! The only things you will have received from the DWP is the “mandatory reconsideration” notice. Once you receive this you can then submit your Appeal. The Tribunal will then send you a “bundle” giving the DWP’s “response” to your Appeal. And you can keep adding to the “bundle” right up until 7 days before the Tribunal date, although in practice papers can still be added just before the Tribunal starts.

    • Something totally made up

” Don’t have proof of postage as so poor re-used old 2nd class stamp.” – this is a wind-up for sure. How the fuck can anyone be THAT poor? So poor that you would risk sending important documents; important documents intended to secure many ££s in arrears from the DWP – you risk the possibly of a bumper back-payout by skimping on the cost of a postage stamp!!!!

      • Something totally made up

And how can you “re-use” a postage stamp?! Only unless it has missed the franking and you have steamed if off. If it has been franked it has been “used” and will likely be rejected leading to the item being rejected; either being returned to sender or an “excess payment required, please collection from Sorting Office card” being posted to the recipient.

        • I’d also advise sending documents of this importance using the ‘signed for’ service, even though it’s pricey at around £1.70 a throw, as at least you can then track delivery and see who signed for it when it arrived – proof of posting is better than nothing of course, but it’s not proof of delivery, and organisations dealing with benefits seem to be masters at losing paperwork. It won’t necessarily mean that your paperwork won’t get lost, but it would seem that this is less likely if they know that you know that they’ve received all your paperwork.

Our local council’s housing benefit department has surely won prizes in this ‘sport’ as they even manage to regularly lose the paperwork to HB claims from residents at the council’s own homeless hostel, so much so that copies are always held just in case the HB dept loses the paperwork!

  6. Yeah, fuck giving money to the homeless! A much better idea would be to text CUNTS to give 19 knicker of of hard-earned wonga to the Salvation Army.

  7. Yeah, fuck giving money to the homeless! A much better idea would be to text CUNTS to give 19 knicker of your hard-earned wonga to the Salvation Army

    • Yeah, cause 3rd world starvation is nothing compared to white people’s problems. And here’s me thinking that paultheswineherd’s compassion for those in need would actually stretch beyond UK borders. That it would include people without water, food – let alone a welfare system.

So what’s next for the Xmas cheer? A rant about refugees taking our jobs/benefits/wives/council homes perhaps?

        spot on plebrise…

        • Not exactly spot on plebrise, we have been sending money to sink wells, feed, clothe, educate and vaccinate those in the third world for decades and still we are told they need all of the above – where is the donated money going to????

I wouldn’t trust anyone that is in governmental positions in any country to care for the poor, most is being sidelined to pay for arms, turn the people into subservient capitalist fodder and give to those in positions of power.

We do need a world wide system as I have stated and one that is honest and reliable enough to make sure everyone has what they need without currency or capitalist manipulation.

          • overburdenddonkey

but that’s not the point paul nor plebrise made….the subjects you refer to are MASSIVE…beyond the scope of a post on a blog…

            • overburdenddonkey

re so called free money….i’ll go off to the tropics and set up a synthetic oil manufacturing plant…where’s my plane tickets, my fully equipped and stocked home, land, raw material’s and equipment order then, you wankers…!?

              • overburdenddonkey

                typo; so called free goods….

                • If everything is free then someone who is qualified to set up oil plants etc will have all they need at their disposal – when there are crises in the world they can sharp set up everything they need and could do so if nobody dealt in currency, why can you not see that obd.

By the way I am not the accused, I am straight forward in my dealings with you I don’t pretend I need your assistance to wind you up, I like a laugh but am not a wind up merchant.

                • overburdenddonkey

why do i need to be qualified…..?
who says who’s qualified to do anything…?
all labour, goods, raw materials, resources and services are free, i can do what i like, where i like, under your scheme, and/or as i now control the means of production, can produce what ever is needed, or attempt too, and get all i need to do this and to live well, foc, instantly by requisition, without any transition and/or transaction needing to have taken place…
oh but alas your scheme will require draconian sanctions and conditionality to function, that IS what you’re implying….
but with no one in charge, according to you, this is called miraculous…
‘I am straight forward in my dealings with you I don’t pretend I need your assistance to wind you up, I like a laugh but am not a wind up merchant…’
i’ll just take your word for it shall i…?? and i have no valid opinion on what you do and/or say…..or as you complain about when you challenge others right to question your pov, you say ‘Like telling them they are wrong if they don’t have your viewpoint….’ therefore implying; ‘how dare you question what i say’…you actually believe this to be ok to say and in truth….

                • You still have to be trained you plonker otherwise there would be chaos, but at least all of your living expenses etc will be free while you train

Would you like an unqualified electrician to come and blow your house up??

                • overburdenddonkey

apart from ignoring my other points….
who would select one or tell/compel/force one who should be ‘trained’ for what….?
no freedom if one cannot choose for self….no one should cooperate with slavery….i choose to live on a tropical island, grow asparagus and other vegetables, for the common good, who says i can’t do so under your scheme…
oh i get it, the likes of you do….

                • Everything that would be done would be for the common good arsehole, if you living on a tropical island and growing food for the common good is what people want then what’s the problem, they would probably need other people with other trades and skills for the common good too on said tropical island.
You really think you can trip me up – no chance.

                • overburdenddonkey

‘Everything that would be done would be for the common good arsehole’ …with such warmth and compassion you express, i feel saved already…

              • Well you don’t like the way the Sally Army do it, so try my version.
I’m trying to save you from your bloody minded self for the benefit of the common good.

                • overburdenddonkey

obviously nothing i say will get through to you, and that NOT agreeing with you, is NOT being bloody minded…
i express my levels of understanding, NOT yours…

This country is is a right sorry state and it’s only going to get worse, the arseholes who are running the show don’t give a toss about anyone but themselves and their equally rich mates, the people too are just as bad, only care about number 1, tv networks and the press are right wing bias, the BBC always has been, the old tory mantra about it being too leftie is a load of bollocks and is basically state tv, the poor of our nation have gotten, and are still getting hammered and will continue to unless we stop them and hammer the ones who truly deserve it!

“HOW THE DWP ILLEGALLY ACCESS YOUR DISABILITY MEDICAL RECORDS TO STEAL YOUR BENEFITS”

      https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/nhs_records_2#incoming-748559

      GEOFF REYNOLDS | December 23, 2015 at 11:56 pm | Reply

      You asked:
‘Could you tell me how many times in 2014-2015 the DWP has accessed the medical records of
people without specific consent? IE how many times have the DWP looked into someone’s
medical records in an attempt to seek to alter:
      1-their disability benefits
      2-any other benefits.’
I can advise that the DWP does not directly access medical records.
In order to establish whether there is information falling within the description specified in your
request, all records relating to disability benefits would need to be accessed. We estimate that
the cost of complying with your request would exceed the appropriate limit of £600

“PLEASE NOTE, THE DWP HAS ADMITTED THAT IT DOES NOT DIRECTLY ACCESS YOUR MEDICAL RECORDS”

THIS IS INDICATIVE THAT THEY DO.

THEY ARE EXAMINING YOUR MEDICAL RECORDS IN ORDER TO AID AND ABET HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS WORKING FOR ATOS, CAPITA AND MAXIMUS, TO FALSIFY WORK CAPABILITY PAYMENTS FOR ESA AND PIP.

Have a very nice Christmas if you can…………..

For those of you huddled in doorways, begging, homeless, cold or starving, waking up the next day is sometimes a burden too far………….

If this country was built on love, you would be kings, sadly the morals and ethics have become the bedrock og greed for the chosen few.

My gift to you is my belief that mankind is generally good, that i would help a lesser human being facing tragedy or despair.

Unfortunately the politicians have all wandered over to the dark side but good will always conquer evil and the truth always surfaces no matter how hard it is being suppressed.

A smile says so many things and so does a couple of coins given to someone who really needs it.

There is nothing to be ashamed of in caring, it is the normal trait by which all other things are measured……………..

I used to work in the “third sector” (ie charities) and became increasingly nauseated by the self-promoting, hypocritical layer of management at many of the bigger ones, which obliterated any sense of genuine philanthropy they may have once had. One example: the NSPCC sent 50 delegates to a 3-day “fundraising convention”(ie piss-up) at a total cost of £60,000.

    • “CORPORATE MANSLAUGHTER, NO IFS, NO BUTS, JUST CONSERVATIVE EUGENICS”

Nearly half a million disabled and elderly people face a huge rent rise following the Tories’ cuts to housing benefit.

They will have to pay £3,000 a year more on average to stay in their specially-adapted homes, or face eviction.

All council and housing association tenants are to have their housing benefit capped at the market rate, saving the Treasury £400 million.

Most will not be affected as their rents are usually lower than private ones.

But analysis for Labour – denied by the government – says there are 440,000 elderly and disabled people whose rents are higher because they live in adapted properties or need care and support.

Shadow Housing Minister John Healey said: “(George) Osborne’s cuts to housing benefit support for thousands of elderly, disabled and homeless people will be a catastrophe for those who can least afford it.

“Catastrophic”: George Osborne’s plans will hit supported housing organisations, warns John Healey

“There is no way these people or the organisations who support them can make up the yawning shortfall these cuts will open up.

“If nothing is done, vital supported housing across the country will close, and the people who rely on them will be forced out.

“George Osborne must put a stop to these plans, publish a full impact assessment and consult fully with supported accommodation providers to safeguard this essential housing.”

  22. The Purge on Film Four last night gave a prescient glimpse into the not too distant future. ‘The Purge’ – one day a year when all crime is legalised. 12 hours when the wealthy “purge” the “economically inactive” from society. 12 hours when the poor, weak, and vulnerable are hunted down and murdered with impunity: 12 hours when the sick and disabled are murdered in their homes. 12 hours when the homeless are dragged from their shelters and killed. 12 hours when the jobless are rounded up and executed. And all set to a background of low crime, a 1% unemployment rate and soaring stock market prices.

  23. The Salvation Army, YMCA and all the rest of those so-called bastard charities who use workfare slaves to do all the work whilst the ‘management’ claim all the credit should hang their collective heads in shame.

      • You mean you have extra rooms – I feel a bedroom or mansion tax coming on.

        • IDS has plenty of spare rooms at his plush country mansion. He could easily house every person in Syria and still have room over for most of the people from the Middle East countries. The lazy, porky pig slap-headed tory fraud is not short of a spare room at his country pile.

You are obviously mentally impaired and probably do quite well out of our generous welfare system. I imagine that you get about £300 sovs a week, with a free flat thrown in for good measure – yet still you and your ilk whine. under U2025, the Example 4 shows that although a claimant is due to
have radiotherapy treatment, the DM determines that she does not
have and is not treated as having Limited Capability for Work.
      I would like to know:
The number of claimants receiving treatment for cancer by way of
chemotherapy or radiotherapy or likely to receive treatment within
six months after the date of the LCW determination or recovering
from treatment for cancer by way of chemotherapy or radiotherapy
who were not found to have Limited Capability for Work, and
therefore were not entitled to ESA
And the number of claimants in the same circumstances who were
found to have Limited Capability for Work but not Limited
      Capability for Work Related Activity

Ideally I would like to have the total numbers from 28 January 2013

figures. If it exceeds the cost limit, could you narrow the search

  34. “UK BENEFITS GROSSLY INADEQUATE, (and thats before the latest cuts)”

The level of UK benefits paid in pensions, jobseeker’s allowance and incapacity benefit is “manifestly inadequate” because it falls below 40% of the median income of European states, according to the Council of Europe in Strasbourg.

The finding in an annual review (pdf) of the UK’s adherence to the council’s European social charter is likely to provoke a fresh dispute between the government and European legal structures. Iain Duncan Smith, the work and pensions secretary, dismissed it as “lunacy”.

The Council of Europe, which has 47 member states, said the conclusions were legally binding in the same way that judgments relating to the European convention on human rights had to be applied by member states.

imv geoff, we have to focus on the abuses NOT the abusers…ok i grant you the abusers ARE the figureheads of the abuse, and the difference may appear to be subtle, but i can assure you it’s not…ending the abuse MUST come 1st imo…a just society, can only come from just peoples…we must not depend on others mercy….

    • Geoff, you talk a load of old bollocks. Your sense of entitlement is breathtaking. Benefits were never meant to be a lifestyle choice, but something to provide people with the money to pay for essentials in the short term. We live in a society where people such as OBD Raining and undoubtedly, yourself have turned welfare into a lifestyle choice spanning decades. The founder of Britain’s welfare state would turn in his grave.

      • Roger, you wouldn’t be saying your cruel words if you had suffered from depression and anxiety for the past 30 to 40 years and your “300 sovs a week and a flat thrown in for good measure” was the only thing stopping you from topping yourself. Merry Christmas!

  35. Abide With Me

As I sit here, in anticipation of another flooding storm, just prior to the farcical speech of the great unelected one, I have to say upon reflection that the elites of the Western World are all on song this year:

Queenie the Unelected turns to christianity for hope
Porcine Dave turns to christianity for hope
Archbishoprick of Canterhorsey turns to christianity for hope
PopeyPooh turns to christianity for hope

Yet all of these people are endorsing wars and pestilence upon the populations of the earth as they plunder the planet’s resources and wealth for themselves. There’s something very wrong here. Their only hope is that the peoples of the planet don’t rise up against them. Our only hope is that we do. I cannot abide a single one of them

  36. Doing a job search on Christmas day to ensure I don’t get sanctioned. I hope every last one of the bastards who has sanctioned someone drops dead before the day is out.

    Merry Christmas.

  37. Charity falls short of how to deal with the fundamental problem of poverty and homelessness and fails to question why in the 5th richest country in the world tens of thousands of homeless people are totally reliant on food banks and charity.

As it is, this vicious government is hell-bent on rolling back the clock and to do this it is attacking the welfare state. It is not doing this because the country is on the verge of economic collapse, it is doing it because it is ideologically opposed to public services and the welfare state, and committed to handing over more of our public assets to big business.

So instead of being beholden to big business philanthropy, no matter how genuine it may be, we should be holding this government to account and fighting back for what is rightfully ours. That which our taxes pay for and which belongs to you.

    • The reason why in the fifth richest country on our planet there are so many homeless people relying on food banks – is because most of them are absolute fuckups. They are alcoholics and drug addicts, their mental illness’ often brought about from consuming copious quantities of alcohol and narcotics. You can’t help them. They are beyond help. They are a waste of everything. And who do you blame for that, the Government? No, people need to accept personal responsibility for their fucked up lives. If I can’t get through a day without fifty cigarettes, twenty five cans of lager, some canabis and, NHS prescribed medication – Then fuck me, my life is no ones fault but my own. STOP MAKING EXCUSES FOR THESE USELESS FUCKING PARASITES!!!!

      • No Rodger these are people with real feelings just like you and I, they are homeless because something went wrong in their lives, they were abused in some way, they were made redundant, or unemployed because the employer went bust or decided they didn’t need the work anymore, or that they are divorced and can no longer live with each other, that they are fleeing conflict from their own country to be safe from a war that wasn’t their doing. They are on drugs or drink because they had a mental illness in the first place, or some terrible situation was so traumatic they cannot cope with life as everyone else does, or maybe they were led to believe when they where teens that they got hooked on drugs and drink because they thought it was the only way people would be friends with them and they were a bit ignorant of the true extent of what they were getting into. People usually use drink and drugs to escape their awful lives they had before they got addicted to drugs. Not because its such a great life. You can go on thinking in ignorant ways if you like, so you can shirk your responsibility to society and to people who are worse off than you, and you can not pay any tax and keep all the money for yourself and for your closest family and not feel guilty about it. Do you realise how many people are out there who want a nine to five job, do you realise how soul destroying it is to look for a job every week, whether it is for half an hour or 35 hours, to go for so many job and not hear from one of them, day after day, month after month, year after year? I tell you don’t and I tell you better hope that you never have to find out, because if it ever did you wouldn’t know what had hit you.

        • Get rid of the victim mentality, Marie. I too am on benefits. I get basic ESA and I’ve just downsized to a pokey one bedroom flat in order to avoid bedroom tax.
The thing is, I understand that nothing lasts forever. Society is under no obligation to give me benefits totaling ten grand per year for ever. whatever happens happens. I have no pity for the piss heads and junkies due to their problems being self inflicted. A large percentage of the mentally ill don’t help themselves either. They usually put drink and illegal drugs before food and drink, and they never stop fucking up.I live in the ghetto, and the amount of people that you see spending their tax payer funded benefit on scratch cards and lotto tickets, they’re always in the bookies or the amusement arcade, and they’ve always got a fag in their hand, and they drink and take drugs – but never contribute a penny back in their miserable fucking lives – They’re absolutely sickening. Absolutely Fucking Sickening!
Next time you visit the DWP, look at the staff cars in the carpark. You won’t see many expensive cars. And those poor bastards have to rise early, commute to work and earn a living – all the while paying taxes.
Get real Marie. Life isn’t like a John lennon song.

          • Welfare should support people for as long as they need it. And yes I have seen the car park round the dole recently and I don’t claim dole now or ESA now, but I’ve still been unable to find a job for the last ten years, and for half of that I haven’t claimed anything, before you say anything. In that car park, it is like a car show room, the last Time I went to JCP, they all had several chains round their neck, several rings on their fingers, and expensive scarves and clothes, a contrast between the people in the other side and I live in a deprived area, hell I live not in a house but a glorified shed. I don’t drink, don’t smoke, don’t do drugs, if I have a vice its reading books that’s it. But I know why I don’t drink or do drugs, is because I have a strong mentality, I was made that way, but I appreciate that some people are not and are susceptible to drink and drugs. I am disabled, I’m deaf may not sound much but it deaf enough for it to make a misery of and affect my life chances. If you are on ESA and Geoff is on a pension, in your book and the way you go on about people, it makes you a worse person than him according to Tories. Maybe that’s the problem you have been suckered in Tory divide and rule, they are pitting, not just people who work and don’t work against each other, but other people on benefits. Saying their are people more worthy than others, people more deserving. That’s not right. And denying people food and water, and a home, because of either bad luck, illness or addiction, is wrong and denying people help because they have had it for a while and are still no better off for it is wrong. And blaming people for whose life story you don’t know and telling them it is their fault that they have a awful life is wrong. How long are you on ESA? How short term is your condition? because some peoples illnesses and conditions are life long? what should happen to them? should they all be gassed because they are deemed useless to society? because they can’t ever get a chance to work because employers don’t think they are worth employing? Grow up Rodger and take off your rose or your Tory tinted spectacles and see the real world for what it is, because I’m under no illusion. I don’t feel envy for Geoff, he is in a worse position than me. I hope he has a better life for the future, I hope You all do, even people who say spiteful things to other people, I still hope they have a better life.

              maria
the myth of the welfare state, i was born just after ww2 in a slum….
in my lifetime the welfare state has all but vanished…
we were told work hard and you’ll work yourself out of poverty, we did work hard…and just look where we are now, all we worked for going into someone else’s portfolio, jobs sold off…left only with echo’s of truth, now become lie’s….i’ve seen the whole thing from start to finish…

            • Stop pitying the fuckups Maria. They are not worth it, they are toxic and will drag you down. That is a lesson that I have learned over time. There are some people who are so fucked up they should be left to fend for themselves, or interned, for the good of society. You sound like a very nice and kind woman, but you remind me of the title character from an Italian film from many years ago, I think the film was called Viridiana. You need to be careful in life, because the gutter shite that you have so much sympathy for are often the worst, most self destructive and parasitical members of this society.

              • You are so gullible Roger, Maria is as judgemental as you are, especially about those who dare to criticize her.
All of this so called pity is phoney, she probably works for the dwp also, because it was not long ago (a few posts back) that she told us she was not working and nobody would employ her because of her age.

                • I’m not working, I never said I was working, cept as a carer for a relative, I never said no one would employ me cause of my age, but for the long gaps in my employment history, because since the crash no one sees the value in me. I don’t make my opinions up, your just confusing your own low opinions that you have about me. I have never worked for the DWP, but if I ever did, I sign them all on and not sanction people, regardless of how many jobs they have looked for, probably wouldn’t last so long and a sacking won’t do my job history any favours, but it would be worth just to give people peace of mind for a few weeks and more time to do a proper more productive job search, without stupid people on your back, preventing making any progress.

              • Too right! You just have to accept that some of our fellow human beings out there in this big wide world of ours are total and utter incorrigible fucking SCUM!!

            • Maria, i am not on a pension, just £33.60p per week industrial injuries benefit only. xxx

          • Hi roger, is that what you do all day spy on dolelites, bit nosey arn’t you, i’ve bought myself a wad of scratch cards out of my well earned spongers allowance and if i win enough im going to buy a nice bottle of booze and some baccy and have a good old smoko and get trollied, cheers roger

            • No Debs, I’m not nosey at all, it’s just that when you live in an impoverished part of the UK, and are not blind, it’s actually impossible for you not to know what the feckless and fecund amongst us are doing with the state help that is so generously given to these people. One would have to be deaf dumb and blind not to witness it.

              • Your right there are nasty people in the world, some of them are on benefits, some are in top jobs in the country, the rest are in-between society. Only a small percentage fraud or wish to have a lifestyle on the dole, just like the small percentage of the country that do murder, theft, many other types of fraud, tax evasion and avoidance. the list of situations and crime goes on and on, and yet you keep going on about the smallest type of fraud ever. Even criminals need help, I know you have to be careful, but two wrongs don’t make a right.

                • Wasting your time Maria, Roger is a Tory Troll on to try and stir up shit against the people at the bottom of society who have the least. You don’t hear him going on about massive corporations avoiding paying tax. You don’t hear him banging on about the crimes in the banking center costing people billions. It’s all about the person who is just scraping an existence on benefits.

                  Roger, shut yer hole.

                • its quite possible I am wasting my time, but I thought I’d give it a go anyway. Its a shame people really think that way in the first place.

            • I purchased a scratch card yesterday, won 300 sovereigns 😉

          • “I too am on benefits. I get basic ESA and I’ve just downsized to a pokey one bedroom flat in order to avoid bedroom tax.”

Troll alert 1 – Debunking “Living Beyond Our Means” Myth:
Any studio or 1 bedroom flat will no matter how small, incur a bedroom tax. Moving won’t change that. If anything your Housing Benefit will sky rocket once you move into a private rental.

“Society is under no obligation to give me benefits totalling ten grand per year for ever.”

Troll alert 2 – Debunking “No Societal Obligation” Myth:
In a civilised society we’re all entitled to benefits if we can’t support ourselves. Otherwise our society isn’t civilised.

“I live in the ghetto, and the amount of people that you see spending their tax payer funded benefit on scratch cards and lotto tickets, they’re always in the bookies or the amusement arcade, and they’ve always got a fag in their hand, and they drink and take drugs – but never contribute a penny back ”

Troll alert 3 – Debunking “The Hardworking Taxpayer” Myth:
Everybody pays tax. Because every time we shop, regardless if it’s food, drink or lotto tickets, we pay tax in form of VAT. We also pay a small portion of Council Tax even when we’re not earning. Then there are those on benefits who do the ungrateful job of caring for others: children, elderly or disabled relatives – saving taxpayers billions in NHS costs.

Troll alert 4 – Debunking “The Jobless Scrounger” Myth:
Contrary to lies printed in Daily Smear, Torygraph etc, there are 6 times more workers receiving Working Tax Credit than unemployed people on Jobseeker’s Allowance. Not counting workers who only receive Housing or Council Tax Benefits. And we all pay NI or income tax whilst working regardless if we get benefits – including staff at the DWP.

Troll alert 5 – Debunking Addiction Shaming:
Having a drink or a drug problem does not make us a sickening person. It just means we are struggling with addictions. Nor do addictions or mental health problems occur exclusively in ghettos. They occur just as much in wealthy neighbourhoods. The only difference is that rich people can live off previous earnings, inheritance, property management which the rest of us can’t.

So Roger, I really think you ought to cancel those Daily Smear, Daily Suppress or Torygraph subscriptions. Unless you’re hired to spread their lies.

  39. London is living a modern day Christmas Carol.

Charles Dickens’ warnings about poverty are as relevant today as in 1843, when his classic Christmas novel was first published.

If Charles Dickens were alive today, he’d be living on a council estate with his seven siblings, a single mum and a daily struggle to make ends meet. His dad in prison for unresolved debt, he’d have left school early to support the family by working part-time at a high street shop, earning the minimum wage. And in between cigarette breaks, he’d find the time to write about issues that mattered to him including children’s rights, poverty and other social issues.

  40. Give magistrates more leeway to turn around lives, US judge tells Gove.

Alex Calabrese says Britain could learn from his ‘problem-solving’ courts in Brooklyn – and the justice secretary seems to be listening.

The justice secretary has been urged to grant magistrates greater freedom in dealing with offenders so that they turn around lives rather than increase the prison population.

Judge Alex Calabrese, who presides over criminal courts in Red Hook, Brooklyn, met Michael Gove this month to expound on the pioneering US community courts he oversees. The 62-year-old New Yorker – who deals with addicts, serial shoplifters and cases of violence – was in London to encourage the justice secretary to transform British courts and boost rehabilitation rates.

Nine High Street banks and building societies in the UK are to launch basic bank accounts which will not charge a fee for missed payments.

The new accounts will be available from 1 January to people who fail to qualify for a full current account.

It follows an agreement between the Treasury and the industry in December last year.

Sadly just another rich mans game of selling carbon credits.

Have you ever wondered why the incredibly rich Bush family decided to get in on the act by purchasing a lake as big as Lake Huron to profit from fresh water price increases?

“Wouldn’t you love to know what high-level intelligence the Bush family has been privy to over the years that would make them go out and buy hundreds of thousands of acres of water rights in a remote South American country?”

You know about the historic drought conditions afflicting California and much of the Western U.S. But Brazil and other parts of South America are also in serious drought. And guess, dear reader, who happens to own a lot of neighborhood water rights?

The real reason Jody thinks Bush 43 and family snapped up nearly 300,000 acres in those semiarid, sparsely populated wastes of Paraguay?

      Water.

That’s right, blue gold. Bush bought the rights to a veritable ocean of fresh, clear-as-glass, Grade A water.

    • “NEW WORLD ORDER”
      ……………not a conspiracy theory, just fact…….

A disturbing trend in the water sector is accelerating worldwide. The new “water barons” — the Wall Street banks and elitist multibillionaires — are buying up water all over the world at unprecedented pace.

Familiar mega-banks and investing powerhouses such as Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan Chase, Citigroup, UBS, Deutsche Bank, Credit Suisse, Macquarie Bank, Barclays Bank, the Blackstone Group, Allianz, and HSBC Bank, among others, are consolidating their control over water. Wealthy tycoons such as T. Boone Pickens, former President George H.W. Bush and his family, Hong Kong’s Li Ka-shing, Philippines’ Manuel V. Pangilinan and other Filipino billionaires, and others are also buying thousands of acres of land with aquifers, lakes, water rights, water utilities, and shares in water engineering and technology companies all over the world.

The second disturbing trend is that while the new water barons are buying up water all over the world, governments are moving fast to limit citizens’ ability to become water self-sufficient (as evidenced by the well-publicized Gary Harrington’s case in Oregon, in which the state criminalized the collection of rainwater in three ponds located on his private land, by convicting him on nine counts and sentencing him for 30 days in jail). Let’s put this criminalization in perspective:

Billionaire T. Boone Pickens owned more water rights than any other individuals in America, with rights over enough of the Ogallala Aquifer to drain approximately 200,000 acre-feet (or 65 billion gallons of water) a year. But ordinary citizen Gary Harrington cannot collect rainwater runoff on 170 acres of his private land.

It’s a strange New World Order in which multibillionaires and elitist banks can own aquifers and lakes, but ordinary citizens cannot even collect rainwater and snow runoff in their own backyards and private lands.

You use the words “several” and “most” in your article. I find this problematic as it is innacurate in terms of real information. I understand your point and agree with the fact that some charities do more harm than good, and they themselves can be misleading towards doners. I find that “several” followed by “most” then the definitive of “be responsible” is to me also misleading and quite manipulative. There are plenty of good charities, they are often smaller and have less money. But you seem to misrepresent this sector with this article. Or maybe i’m misunderstanding?

under U2025, the Example 4 shows that although a claimant is due to
have radiotherapy treatment, the DM determines that she does not
have and is not treated as having Limited Capability for Work.

Ideally I would like to have the total numbers from 28 January 2013
when the new rules took effect and including the most recent
figures. If it exceeds the cost limit, could you narrow the search

‘Shameful’ Tory Assault On Welfare Could Plunge Millions More Into Poverty By 2030
    Posted by Steven Preece –
    Dec 29, 2015

The Tories relentless assault on welfare benefits could plunge millions of more people into poverty, according to a left-leaning think tank.

An analysis of Tory welfare cuts by the Resolution Foundation and Landman Economics found that an extra 3.6 million people could be pushed below the breadline by Christmas 2030, including 1.9 million children.

The damning revelation shows that the number of children living in poverty is set to soar by a shocking 75% by 2030, unless the Government shows a change of heart and halts in attack on Britain’s poorest people.

It means that the number of children living in poverty will rise to 4.4 million in just fifteen years, around one-if-four (28%) of all children living in Britain.

The number of children living in “absolute” poverty is also expected to rise by 800,000 over the same period.

According to the report, the poorest 10% of Brits can expect their annual income to rise by just £90 a year, easily dwarfed by rising living costs, while the richest 10% will see their income boosted to the tune of an extra £1,600 each year.

      • “JUST ONE OF THE DWP’S TRAGIC VICTIMS”

Mark Wood starved to death four months after his benefits were cut off in 2013. Wood, who was 44 when he died, had a number of complex health conditions; he was found dead at his home, months after an Atos administered fitness-for-work assessment found him well enough to work and triggered a decision to stop his sickness and housing benefits.

The coroner said that, although it was impossible to identify the cause of death, it was probably “caused or contributed to by Wood being markedly underweight and malnourished”. A doctor’s letter presented to the inquest said the pressure put on Wood by benefit changes had made his anxiety disorder “significantly worse”.

Wood’s family has been campaigning for a formal apology from the government that is not yet forthcoming. In the meantime, they are working to reframe his legacy, so that he will be remembered not only as a tragic victim of welfare reform, but also as a painter, photographer and poet. An exhibition of his paintings, songs and poetry opens in Oxford on Saturday with the support of Oxfordshire Mind.

Jill Gant, Mark’s mother, says he drew compulsively as a child. His mental health difficulties made it impossible for him to work, but she hopes people will be moved by his pictures, which reveal a thoughtful approach to the damage being inflicted on the planet.

  58. “ANOTHER ONE FOR THE UN INSPECTORS”

    • Jesus, only the lowest of the low could sanction a pregnant woman, it’s evil beyond belief.

        • Ian Howgate left an annotation (29 December 2015)

          I do agree.

I was working with a man who, before meeting me, had failed an assessment and was forced to sign on JSA, as he could not face trying to battle against the DWP. He had the most horrific list of illnesses which were attested to by his doctor and his local council who had issued him with a bus pass because of his enduring incapacity. However the DWP and the local council harassed him over the next three months so badly that he ended up in hospital where he died a month later. People have died from this and will continue to die unless the DWP stop harassing people. I know the DWP were forced to reveal that many people who failed assessments subsequently died within a few months, which goes to show that, at best, the assessment process wrongly assesses people who dearly need ESA, however the matter is actually worse because the statistics cannot demonstrate what this case shows that the miss-diagnosis and the subsequent distress and harassment shortens people’s lives.

It is a pretty callous way to cut the benefits bill, to kill off the weakest people claiming benefits and thereby not have to pay them any longer.

One tip for you is to look at the Equality Act 2010 and to realise that any person who is off work because of an illness for a year or more or a period likely to be at least a year will be defined as DISABLED under that Act (there are many other qualification criteria but this one is fairly solid for all people on ESA) and hence is entitled to a reasonable adjustment for that illness and not to be treated less favourably by the DWP, than would a person who is not technically disabled. As a result the DWP are not allowed to target people who are disabled and are not allowed to do things to them that they would not do to an able-bodied or able-minded person in the same circumstances and they are particularly entitled not to be harassed and that if they point out that some unwanted treatment by the DWP is detrimental to their health or their ability to access benefits, that the DWP are obliged to make a reasonable adjustment to accommodate that person’s disability.

If a person is treated less fairly having raised the point of disability discrimination, then that less favourable treatment is considered victimisation and the courts take a very dim view of organisations who victimise people for trying to enforce their disability rights.

The fact is that most people on benefits do not have access to lawyers who can spell this out – so the DWP feel that they can harass, discriminate and victimise disabled people on benefits and think they will get away with it. They should not – because if they do then you are right it will happen more and more.

Best of luck with your campaign and may God be with you.

this is the problem…there is so little PRACTICAL support….don’t tell others your human rights, LIVE THEM, know them from the very core of your being, they are real, not just ink on paper…

      • If sanctions are going to be part of the social security system then they must be seen to be fair, non-discriminatory and across the board; otherwise you are tacitly accepting the Labour construct of “vulnerable groups”. How do you think a sanctioned jobseeker would feel being left to starve to death whilst a pregnant (by choice) woman receives special dispensation although they are both “guilty” of the same “offence”? There is no such thing as specific “vulnerable group” under the Tories or in any reasonable person’s mind for that matter; anyone dependent on social security as their sole income is “vulnerable” by definition. No individual human being is equipped with superhuman “coping strategies”. Nobody can survive without the “vitals of life” such as food, heat, clean water, clothing and shelter. Just because a person doesn’t happen to be pregnant doesn’t confer automatically superpowers to survive with no income on them.

Just to be clear: sanctions should form no part of the social security system, but if they are going to be there they should at least be applied in a non-discriminatory fashion.

The Tories must be “congratulated” on the seeming “fairness” of their sanction policy. At least they don’t just single out and put the boot into jobseekers as was the case under Labour’s utterly despicable regime.

A lot of “broader groups” are now getting a taste of what jobseekers suffered under Labour. Under Labour jobseekers were being sanctioned and left with absolutely no income (“hardship” wasn’t available under Labour unless you were in a “vulnerable” group) and jobseekers were consequently left to starve to death in the gutter… and nobody gave a damn, did you “Maria”? Thought not!

And lets not get all gooey-eyed about New Labour. Under Labour life was a damned site harder for certain groups, particularly the unemployed. There was a ton of shit thrown the way of the unemployed under Labour. L’est we forget what evil Labour is capable of. L’est we forget what evil Labour inflicted. You ain’t fooling no-one “Maria”.

        • Now you are not only confusing me about who I am, but confusing me with somebody else. Grow up and go and do something useful instead of having a go at people who are vulnerable and/or really care what happens to society. Your boring me with your words. Why don’t you learn to use words and learn to target them at the right people; in an honest and decent way.

        • By definition, ‘sanctions’ (so-called) cannot be “fair”.

          • Don’t think anyone is saying sanctions are “fair” shirleynott. But under Labour if you were sanctioned and weren’t in a “vulnerable” group you were denied even “hardship”. Was that “fair”? Leaving a human being with absolutely no income to provide the very basic means of survival is “fair”? Or are you implying that sanctions should only apply to the unemployed and that other groups such as ESA claimants should be “left alone”?

            • “If sanctions are going to be part of the ss system, they must be seen to be fair, non-discriminatory” & etc …:-

Implying what’s always been stated on here, that ‘so-called’ sanctioning (removal of a basic minimum income) of anyone should not be carried out in a civilised society. As has been said on here by many people, many times in the 2/3 years I’ve been reading, convicted criminals are given the security of a roof over their heads, and regular meals.

There’s nothing that can justify, I very strongly believe and will continue to state, the removal of the means to live from anyone – whether they have an officially recognised disability or ill-health, have or don’t have children, do or don’t have a partner etc. etc.

              • … or even in a so-called ‘civilised society’ (in this case) …

              • That’s what people are saying shirleynott: that sanctions should play not part in the social security system – that nobody, NOBODY should have their means to live removed. But some people, especially on here, seem to think that if a claimant doesn’t have an officially recognised disability or ill-health, have or don’t have children, do or don’t have a partner etc. etc. then it’s OK to sanction them which is really quite sick thinking. And it is those very same people who keep urging us to vote for a “Labour” government; their thinking being that a “Labour” government will “let alone” i.e. THEM with their “officially recognised disabilities” and inflict sanctions solely on “non-vulnerable” groups which again, is really sick thinking. Sanction that target specific “non vulnerable” groups are even sicker than sanctions that are less discriminatory in their target group. So in that sense the Tory approach when you see a claimant who “an officially recognised disability” has has children, has a partner etc. being sanctioned in the same circumstances that a claimant who didn’t fall into a those categories would be sanctioned the Tory approach to sanctions is indeed a “fairer” approach. Certain claimant groups are definitely better off under the Tories.

                • But some people, especially on here, seem to think that if a claimant doesn’t have an “officially recognised disability” or ill-health, doesn’t have children, doesn’t have a partner etc. etc. then it’s OK to sanction them which is really quite sick thinking. A case of I’m alright Jack!

                • “fairer” maybe?! – but not as we know it.

To qualify for JSA hardship payments, you must either be in a ‘vulnerable group’ or satisfy the DWP that you will ‘suffer hardship’ if JSA is not paid to you. If either of these applies to you, the DWP must make a payment to you – there is no discretion to not pay you. Hardship payments are payments of income-based JSA, so you also need to satisfy the means test and other conditions of entitlement. You cannot get a hardship payment of contribution-based JSA…’

                • But under Labour it wasn’t enough to just “suffer hardship” to qualify for hardship – you HAD to be in a “vulnerable” group. ‘Starting in 2011, the UK Coalition government introduced three major reforms to its unemployment benefits (Jobseeker’s Allowance, JSA) which made its sanctioning regimes among the harshest in Europe (4). While conditionality had its origins under New Labour in 1996 (5), they became much more extensive as part of new “Back-to-Work” schemes in 2011
Since these recent reforms began, numbers of persons being referred for sanctions have increased markedly, as shown in Figure 1. Between June 2011 and March 2014, 4.2 million people received sanction referrals, of whom 1.9 million had an adverse sanction imposed,
Prior to the period when the UK’s reforms to unemployment benefits were introduced in June 2011, 6.24% of claimants received sanction referrals. After the reforms came into effect, this rate rose significantly by 2.76 percentage points (95% CI: 2.59 to 2.92; p < 0.001) to 9.00%.
This was accompanied by a significant increase in the rate of adverse sanction decisions, from 2.82% of claimants receiving sanctions (95% CI: 2.80% to 2.85%) to 4.04% (95% 3.98% to 4.10%, p<0.001).'

This had an impact upon claims for Housing Benefit (HB) and Council Tax Benefit (CTB).
As a result, claimants were also denied access to hardship payments and crisis loans.
Somewhat ironically, because they had been issued with a P45 and were not considered to be ‘in work’ by HMRC, they were not entitled to claim WTC.’

                • My benefits were stopped a couple of times under new labour and I could get no hardship allowance – fact, I was also thrown into prison and a mental hospital for arguing with them over benefit withdrawal and missing appeal forms.

I then was also sanctioned and sectioned twice under the tories but a labour council were responsible for this at the time, they and their cronies that you argue with for forcing you to walk miles for forms to reclaim housing benefits etc, if you objected and an argument ensued (not aggressive as they made out) just raised voices over their treatment of you, they then used the mental health act.

Since when was voicing your opinion and arguing your case a mental illness, the medical councils and governmental councils then stitch you up to keep you locked up for longer by refusing to release via an appeal tribunal.

I ran rings round them in the tribunals yet none of this was written down verbatim and I lost my appeals because they knew there was nothing wrong with me, but that they just wanted to keep me locked up.

The whole governmental run system of tribunals is based on lies and dodgy diagnoses, especially in my case, because I knew too much about politics and was too much trouble to them.

                • PS even when locked up in the mental hospital they were still refusing me any income.

            • Too right gu… er dimples, in the UK we been conned into accepting a strange culture that if so much as raise your voice or attempt to argue your case you are classed as “aggressive” and classed as “mentally ill” and thrown in a lunatic asylum. In the UK we are expected to take shit, and roll over without a whimper; a normal human response to being and having the piss ripped out of you which is to get ANGRY is “aggressive”.

We were watching the Indian version of Question Time on a satellite channel and everyone the presenter included was shouting and arguing at the top of their voice. 65. “dwp trying to rebrand unemployment as a medical condition”

Government policy has taken worrying steps towards depicting unemployment as a mental health disorder, medical researchers have warned.

A study backed by the Wellcome Trust found that people without jobs were subject to humiliating “reprogramming” by authorities designed to change their mental states.

The researchers said the new approach, which forced upon the unemployed a “requirement to demonstrate certain attitudes or attributes in order to receive benefits or other support, notably food” raised major ethical issues.

They say such moves appear to have been taken to shift attention from the rise of in-work poverty and other market failures overseen by successive governments.

“Psychology now plays a central and formative role in stigmatising the existence and behaviour of various categories of poor citizens and in legitimating the measures taken to transform and activate them,” the authors note.

“Mandatory work-related activity and ‘supported job searches’ involve tasks experienced as humiliating and pointless by jobseekers. There is no evidence that work programme psycho-interventions increase the likelihood of gaining paid work that lasts any length of time.

“In perpetuating notions of psychological failure, they shift attention away from the social patterning of unemployment and from wider trends: market failure, precarity, the rise of in-work poverty, the cost of living crisis and the scale of income inequalities.”

Examples of psychological conditioning provided by the authors include repeated motivational text messages sent from jobcentres, ‘evangelical’ self-help seminars and ritualised and unhelpful jobsearch activity.

The authors were also critical of unpaid work placements designed to incalculate certain to work attitudes in an unemployed person.

The Government is planning to station “psychology wellbeing professionals” in 350 Jobcentres under a scheme to be rolled out this year.

In April Work and Pensions Secretary Iain Duncan Smith said zero hour contracts should be re-named “flexible hours contracts” and that they should be thought of as good for workers’ work-life balance.

The academic study was published in the British Medical Journal’s publication Medical Humanities.

Of course they did – the Tories always dismiss facts that counter their ideology and mendaciousness.

“We know that being unemployed can be a difficult time, which is why our Jobcentre staff put so much time and effort into supporting people back into work as quickly as possible,” a DWP spokesperson said.

“We offer support through a range of schemes so that jobseekers have the skills and experience that today’s employers need.”

Absolute bollox. The DWP only offer persecution, punishment (just for being poor and unemployed) and this brainwashing. They offer NO actual meaningful and practical training to get a job. Just creating factory fodder for their Fat Cat – Poverty Wage paying owners and masters. But what do expect from the Tories who embraced the principles of Action Plan T4 and IDS who said “Work sets you Free” a year after visiting Auschwitz. The fact that IDS has killed more British citizens with his “Reforms” than all the British military fatalities in Afghanistan and Iraq combined.

Happy New Year Britain – 5 more years of Tory dictatorship and abuse.

    • They scrapped so-called ‘specialist’ advisers – eg. Lone Parent advisers – as everyone is now (openly) equally despised/they no longer need to pretend to want to offer ‘specific’ support. So there’s room for them to create new ‘get your mind right’ roles, retain staff who were previously responsible for that ‘support’, or to employ staff to replace those who finally couldn’t stick it out or were let go for not being sadistic enough.

The Jcp- here have a new image – more ‘dead’ (empty) and superficially, at least, a ‘nicer’ approach – in the initial stages, anyway. It’s less obvious that they want to distrust/trip people up and the approach is modern, ‘high-tech’ (!) and pushing the benefits of Universal Jobsnatch, having an email address. Replacement advisers aren’t quite in the style of the older-style advisers of recent times – they seem to be either ‘nice but dim’ (no real change there) or not-so- nice, but pretending quite hard to be genial. In this local jcp-, there’s still the inevitable (one) adviser who’s very much on the edge of something unpleasant (full metal meltdown?) – seems to be more-than-a-little unhinged and very ‘terse’ …

It’s almost as though they have seen that they had gone too far in a certain direction and things were/have started to be ‘out there’ that people might read/hear about and learn from …

If sanctions are going to be part of the social security system then they must be seen to be fair, non-discriminatory and across the board; otherwise you are tacitly accepting the Labour construct of “vulnerable groups”.

    • “YANKS USING BEHAVIOURAL SCIENCE NUDGE POLICIES ON IT’S PEOPLE”

…………..SO THE UK FOLLOWS AS SURE AS NIGHT FOLLOWS DAY.

President Barack Obama ordered government agencies to use behavioral science insights to ‘better serve the American people.’ While insiders are praising the step as historic, critics are blasting the measure – and the president – as manipulative.

“To more fully realize the benefits of behavioral insights and deliver better results at a lower cost for the American people, the Federal Government should design its policies and programs to reflect our best understanding of how people engage with, participate in, use, and respond to those policies and programs,” says the executive order issued by the president Tuesday.

Obama instructed federal agencies to identify policies and operations where applying behavioral science could improve “public welfare, program outcomes, and program cost effectiveness,” develop strategies for using behavior science insights, and recruit behavioral experts as necessary.

      • “WHEN THE YANKS CLICK THEIR FINGERS, THE UK JUMPS”

……….EVEN IF SOCIAL ENGINEERING PROJECTS TAKE THOUSANDS OF LIVES IN COLLATERAL DAMAGE.

In Obama’s executive order, government agencies are told to “carefully consider how the presentation and structure of those choices, including the order, number, and arrangement of options, can most effectively promote public welfare, as appropriate, giving particular consideration to the selection and setting of default options.”

To illustrate that in practice, Sunstein has proposed automatically enrolling utility customers in clean energy plans, unless they opt out. While the plans would be more expensive, he argued most people would be fine with paying more for “green” energy, according to USA Today.

Businesses have long known that customers will go along with the more expensive default options because changing them requires time and effort. However, consumer backlash is pushing many companies to at least make opt-outs more easily available. For example, Facebook is about to start featuring advertising based on behavioral data – the users’ browsing habits – but not before offering its customers the chance to opt out.

Another example of “nudging” in action is the use of suggestive language for government programs and laws. Thus the extraordinary measures implemented after the 9/11 terrorist attacks were dubbed the “PATRIOT Act,” the law reauthorizing bulk NSA surveillance of Americans became the “USA FREEDOM Act,” while the very executive order directing federal agencies to apply behavioral science had “to Better Serve the American People,” in its title.

Tomlinson fails six times to reveal identity of ‘minister for ILF’

    DNS – 18th Dec 2015

The minister for disabled people has failed six times to explain which minister and government department campaigners should approach to lobby about the closure of the Independent Living Fund (ILF).

Justin Tomlinson was asked by the disabled peer Baroness [Jane] Campbell to tell disabled people which minister had responsibility for ILF, and “over-arching decision-making power” on the fallout from the fund’s closure.

Tomlinson and two other ministers were giving evidence to the Equality Act 2010 and disability committee, which is conducting an inquiry for the House of Lords into the impact of the act on disabled people.

Tomlinson (pictured, at the hearing) appeared to accept her suggestion that one department ought to have “ultimate responsibility” but he then told Baroness Campbell that it “depends on which angle you come from” if someone wanted to know which minister was responsible for the issue.

“Iain Duncan Smith is recruiting a new £140,000-a-year director of his troubled welfare reform project Universal Credit – barely a year after the last change of leadership.

The job is among the top paying jobs in the civil service – more than the Work and Pensions Secretary earns himself.

The advert for the role – posted on the Civil Service Jobs website – says the Department for Work and Pensions is seeking someone to develop and implement the £2bn Universal Credit programme, the Government’s flagship welfare reform project that will merge six benefits into one payment over the next five years.”

    • “HOW TO SIGN OFF SICK AND WORK ON THE SIDE”

A LONDON MP has admitted working for a City investment company while on paid sick leave from the Commons.

Former Conservative Andrew Pelling cancelled all his constituency surgeries and public appearances during his six-month break from Westminster which was ordered by his GP.

But he carried on doing paid client relationship work for Tokai Tokyo a job he first entered in the register of members’ interests in March last year.

The Croydon Central MP, now an independent, also admitted to still receiving his £61,820-a-year MP wage while being off sick with depression between January and July this year.

He claims Tokai Tokyo, where he is head of origination, became a “safe haven” that played a “fundamental role” in helping him back to health.

He refused to apologise for continuing to work there while collecting his Commons salary but says he felt “bad” about handing casework over to a fellow MP.

      • “Iain Duncan Smith is offering £140,000 a year for someone to take charge of his troubled Universal Credit programme”

In October of 1939 amid the turmoil of the outbreak of war Hitler ordered widespread “mercy killing” of the sick and disabled.(WELFARE REFORM ACT 2012)

Code named “Aktion T 4,” the Nazi euthanasia program to eliminate “life unworthy of life” at first focused on newborns and very young children. Midwives and doctors were required to register children up to age three who showed symptoms of mental retardation, physical deformity, or other symptoms included on a questionnaire from the Reich Health Ministry.
        (CAPITA, ATOS AND MAXIMUS)

A decision on whether to allow the child to live was then made by three medical experts solely on the basis of the questionnaire, without any examination and without reading any medical records.
        (DWP DECISION MAKERS)

Each expert placed a + mark in red pencil or – mark in blue pencil under the term “treatment” on a special form. A red plus mark meant a decision to kill the child. A blue minus sign meant a decision against killing. Three plus symbols resulted in a euthanasia warrant being issued and the transfer of the child to a ‘Children’s Specialty Department’ for death by injection or gradual starvation.

The decision had to be unanimous. In cases where the decision was not unanimous the child was kept under observation and another attempt would be made to get a unanimous decision.(COURT OF APPEAL)

The Nazi euthanasia program quickly expanded to include older disabled children and adults. Hitler’s decree of October, 1939, typed on his personal stationary, enlarged “the authority of certain physicians, (CAPITA, ATOS AND MAXIMUS) to be designated by name in such manner that persons who, according to human judgment, are incurable can, upon a most careful diagnosis of their condition of sickness, be accorded a mercy death.”(IAIN DUNCAN SMITH aka DUNKO THE CLOWN)

Questionnaires were then distributed to mental institutions, hospitals and other institutions caring for the chronically ill.

        • “UNIVERSAL CREDIT, THE FINAL SOLUTION”

          Euthanasia Program

The term “euthanasia” means literally “good death”. It usually refers to the inducement of a painless death for a chronically or terminally ill individual who would otherwise suffer. In the Nazi context, however, “euthanasia” was a euphemistic term for a clandestine murder program. The program targeted—for systematic killing—mentally and physically disabled patients living in institutional settings in Germany and German-annexed territories.

The “euthanasia” program was Nazi Germany’s first program of mass murder. It predated the genocide of European Jewry (the Holocaust) by approximately two years. The program was one of many radical eugenic measures which aimed to restore the racial “integrity” of the German nation. It endeavored to eliminate what eugenicists and their supporters considered “life unworthy of life”: those individuals who—they believed—because of severe psychiatric, neurological, or physical disabilities represented both a genetic and a financial burden on German society and the state.

what do you think of UBI, geoff as a solution…?

            • Universal basic income and Guaranteed national income are both none starters for the ruling elite.
They have to maintain a fixed amount of unemployed in order for them to play their little games…………………..

In order to reach the utopia objective of UBI you would need a notional benchmark, a maxim that would serve as a yardstick on which to build.

The benchmark would be made as low as possible and would never be updated against proper indexed rises in inflation.

The theory sounds too good, but the downside is an engineered assault on what we perceive to be a credible amount to live on.
If it were ever employed, the divide between rich and poor would go into freefall with the poor the marked losers all the way.

Engineer a system that only a fool will use and only the fools will use it.

It was such a shock to see the financial investments authority have decided not to launch an investigation into banks/bankers/. bonuses, this morning……………

Could UBI be measured against this mainstream abuse of power?

              • overburdenddonkey

yes, geoff, it’s up to we the people to push for it, maintain it’s presence and it’s real terms value…otherwise UBI will be useless…we the people will have to talk directly to govt @ all times…not business, but govts…
because of the prevailing and pervading circumstances it will stand up, be held, as a litmus measurement of mainstream abuse of power, otherwise income deprivation will not be solved/resolved….
ubi will create an almost microscopic examination of current abuses of power, as our reliable supplies of vitality giving vitals of life depend on it providing enough income to meet those basic needs..

                • BS!
Once a UBI was introduced there would be nothing left to “fight” for. Its value in real terms would be whittled away and the poor eroded with it!

THE family of a woman who threatened suicide over benefits sanctions fear the system will push her to end her life. The mother-of-four, who has been diagnosed with depression, told relatives she was considering drastic action when her funds were stopped after she missed an appointment.

We have agreed to refer to Sarah and her concerned sister Katie by only first names to avoid increasing the stress on the vulnerable woman, who siblings believe has an undiagnosed autistic spectrum disorder, and so as not to identify her children.

The Dundee woman once aspired to a career in nursing, but her mental health problems prevented her from completing her studies. Now 50, she also has back problems caused by a former care job and lives alone following the break-up of her marriage, which led to her children living with their father.

The benefit suspension was enacted a month ago after depression led to her missing a scheduled appointment, a decision overturned following help from Citizens Advice.

However, yesterday the family told The National the “blanket approach” by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) was increasing Sarah’s isolation and further sanctions could cost her her life.

Katie said: “She was on Income Support and Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA) and lost both of them so got to the point she was in contact with the family saying she was suicidal.

‘the Dwp carousel of death is seriously spinning out of control’….but we’re not demanding that are natural human needs are met, so it’s also our fault as well…they take advantage of the situation, always will and have done…
we’re trained to give our natural rights away and not demanding they’re met by our families and communities….

    • overburdenddonkey

again the failing is lack of reliable support….understandably a lack of trust in the system…because it’s useless, mostly people told, actively encouraged, to struggle on and cope with emotional distress, typically featured in the systems use of behaviourism…’work sets you free’, approach is devastating and appalling…a profound lack of unconditional sanctuary….

      • overburdenddonkey

we’re used to our natural human rights being given to us by others as if they’re a privilege…
quoting this that or the the other laws, chapter and verse et a, creating legal disputes/debate, is not what i mean, is distraction, and useless..
what i mean is tell the story of one’s symptoms without being distracted from telling that story…
they can and do put every possible obstacle in one’s way of telling that story, don’t let them steal one’s symptoms and/or let them take one away from focusing one’s immediate needs…reliable support is obvs often required when doing this…ie true advocacy…

  93. A Very Happy New Year to everyone on here (less the trolls of course!)
May 2016 be the year when the most hated man in Britain, Iain Duncan Smith falls on his own sword of ‘Welfare Reform and the roll out of Universal Credit’ & Cameron & Osborne fall also.
Things can only get better – they cannot get any worse – either for the working people or for the claimants and the unemployed.
Lord help all of us on ‘Working Tax Credits’ – I could be made unemployed in 2016 and be forced to do ‘workfare’ or searching for some non-existent ‘job’ in Herefordshire. Tory bastards – lets hope that 2016 is the worst ever for them and the best ever for those that they pillory.

  94. Government M.P.’s & Ministers: These are milking the massive tits of taxpayer’s money for all that they can get – no one cares and no one can realistically go up against them (except the Select Committees, who can only ‘advise’ but can influence absolutely fuck all). So they can do nothing!
The ‘Charities’ – A bunch of ‘do-gooding’ wannabees – also milking the smaller tits of those people who like to do what they want to do and what they can do, although really, they cannot really afford it. Meanwhile, the CEO’s of these so-called ‘charities’ are raking it in – after all (at the top) if you want really good people – you do not pay peanuts (just like monkeys).
What absolute bollocks – if you really want to help people – you would take only a small wage.
And the ordinary working people: Working their bollocks off, just to keep their heads above water. Welcome to Tory 2016 – hopefully though for not too much longer!

  95. And the ‘royals’ – that is another story altogether. All of them ‘scroungers’.
charles and camilla parker bowles, taking millions of pounds from the Duchy of Cornwall Estates (my native Cornwall!) Bloody shameful but unfortunately, due to ‘incomers’ – many of these people totally support these royal bastards.

      • Thanks Geoff. Judicial review has to be paid for now? How much does it cost?

Does judicial review extend to Citizens Advice Bureaux?

Pembrokeshire CAB advised me that I needed 30 points to qualify for ESA.

At court, whilst I was searched, the court security guard babbled continuously to another guard how he had always worked.

CAB rep didn’t turn up for my first court ESA hearing, and didn’t let me know that she wasn’t going to turn up. Case dismissed.

Second hearing, the CAB rep didn’t come into the court with me. I stated that I didn’t mind, not knowing that I was going to be trashed. The doctor: I had to say ‘pardon’ every time he spoke. I allege he was pissed, with one hand resting on his head, mumble, mumble, mumble.

Afterwards, the CAB rep stated ‘that wasn’t too bad was it?’ Eh, it was horrific. Also, the CAB rep wrongly informed me that I couldn’t appeal any decision.

        All one big set-up.

Shame on you Pembrokeshire Citizens Advice Bureaux.

        Paul Davies Tory AM

        • To get to a judicial review or the court of appeal you first have to get passed the bent judiciary who have been instructed to block your attempts, no matter what………………..
Firstly you need permission from the upper tribunal judges who are supposed to be neutral, fair and completely unbiased in any way.

Judges that i have encountered are nothing but, in fact both have worked as social security commissioners.( ROwLAND and WILLIAMS).

The ministry of justice is just another arm of the establishment that id fighting tooth and nail to stop any person reaching the court of appeal for fear the outcome may lead to a precedent being set.

If any precedent were set that agreed with the case of the claimant, it would probably bankrupt the whole fetid system………………

Every time i raise the issue of breaches of the disability discrimination act, the equality act or human rights abuses, the upper tribunal judges are told not to even go there……………..

Instead they ignore your pleas completely and try to make assertions over trifling little matters like the amount of urine you pass to qualify for incontinence.

Judge WILLIAMS, or should i say the DWP backroom staff that write his scripts, write back and say that i have not identified any reson to go ahead as i have not shown any procedural irregularity or reach of law.

To this end i have sent them with a list going from the letter A, right through to the letter P, in points of law and irregularities……………

They are aware that if one case breaches the security of their illegal dam, the whole torrent of discontent will follow. There would be a complete deluge of litigation to follow.

NEVER GIVE UP, IT IS THEY WHO WILL BUCKLE UNDER PRESSURE…………

Finally Sian, you ask of costs, strangely the courts have a way of trying to deter you from applying.
I have in front of me my latest feedback from them that ends by saying,
“IF YOU HAVE ANY QUERIES ABOUT YOUR LEGAL POSITION YOU ARE STRONGLY ADVISED TO SEEK INDEPENDENT ADVICE FROM YOUR LAWYER”

Please remember that despite what our government tell us, you still have the right to legal aid to take on the case.
It is enshrined in the human rights act that the tory clowns are desperate to replace.
Any move to block an application for legal aid is therefore an instant submission for a breach…………

Furthermore Sian, the final lines of my letter from the registrar of the upper tribunal states this,

“IF YOU APPEAL,YOU MAY BE LIABLE FOR FEES / AND / OR COSTS IN THE COURT OF APPEAL”
“IT IS NOT POSSIBLE FOR THE UPPER TRIBUNAL ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF, REGISTRARS OR JUDICIARY TO ANSWER QUERIES OF THIS KIND”

…………..Which translated means, we will do everything in our power to thwart your efforts to seek justice……..

          • They ask you how much water you pass? what has that got to do with it? Its like when your deaf, if you can make out a basic command, via sign language or lip reading or just by pure guess, your alright, you need no equipment , your like every one else. No account of the grave mistakes you might make, nothing about whether you can use the phone without or even with special equipment, no guarantee whether you will be able to obtain it, yourself, via a grant, or whether the employer may pay out for it. No guarantee whether a an employer will be willing to give you a go or not. As long as they con you out of the basic existence to keep you well and fed in the warm and all the basic hygiene that you may need, and being able to get out of your house once in a while, for some people. As long as it saves them money and they can get away with doing people out of all these things, they will find any opportunity, even if it means people dying. All I can say is, despite the suffering they have caused me, I am glad I am me and not them. I hope you can get the right help in the end Geoff.

the best ever description of the tosh that the work programme is all about is in that huffington article –

“Kevin Woods · Glasgow Caledonian University
the problem with these schemes and the entire Work programme in general is that by forcing jobseekers to attend them and allowing them to sanction participants you actually prevent them being effective.
Take two schemes doing the exact same thing, one A sanctions and the other B doesn’t, A keeps the participants for two years and gets paid for two years, B discovers that 50% of participants quit after a week claiming no help is being provided, A has no incentive to change and help people, B realises it needs to be better if it wants to be paid and makes improvements which result in more successes so its success rate increases to the 15% required, A doesn’t need to make improvements to get money and keeps to 5%.
If you allowed participants to quit once it becomes clear no job is available then it starts to work as the providers realise to keep people with them they need to hire 1/3 if they want to be kept on as partners
To provide a comparison imagine a university offers a course and discovers that only 5% of students get the degree at the end, wouldn’t they start to question the teaching methods to find out why they are not working,
can you imagine any other business model where customers are punished for refusing the product and there is no requirement for the product to actually work?”

‘First, do no harm’: are disability assessments associated with adverse trends in mental health? A longitudinal ecological study
    Open AccessPress Release

Background In England between 2010 and 2013, just over one million recipients of the main out-of-work disability benefit had their eligibility reassessed using a new functional checklist—the Work Capability Assessment. Doctors and disability rights organisations have raised concerns that this has had an adverse effect on the mental health of claimants, but there are no population level studies exploring the health effects of this or similar policies.

Method We used multivariable regression to investigate whether variation in the trend in reassessments in each of 149 local authorities in England was associated with differences in local trends in suicides, self-reported mental health problems and antidepressant prescribing rates, while adjusting for baseline conditions and trends in other factors known to influence mental ill-health.

Results Each additional 10 000 people reassessed in each area was associated with an additional 6 suicides (95% CI 2 to 9), 2700 cases of reported mental health problems (95% CI 548 to 4840), and the prescribing of an additional 7020 antidepressant items (95% CI 3930 to 10100). The reassessment process was associated with the greatest increases in these adverse mental health outcomes in the most deprived areas of the country, widening health inequalities.

Conclusions The programme of reassessing people on disability benefits using the Work Capability Assessment was independently associated with an increase in suicides, self-reported mental health problems and antidepressant prescribing. This policy may have had serious adverse consequences for mental health in England, which could outweigh any benefits that arise from moving people off disability benefits.

    • So true. Get them all out. All the Blairites, who sold real Labour Party principles down the toilet, in order to gain power, should be given the boot and real Labour people put in to replace them.

I would rather see a Labour party in opposition, but staying true to the real WC ideals and policies, than a sham of a party that have gained power but at the price of alienating most of their traditional supporters.

      • paultheswineherd

Raining – yes, the ‘Blairites’ purport to have ‘Labour’ ideals but really are absolutely nothing of the sort. They are really closet Tories – they support Tory policies (and they should become Tories also!) – indeed it was the Tories that copied some of their policies including the Work capability Assessment (and continued them, but made them even worse by continuing to ’employ’ ATOS & later, Maximus, Capita, et al.) (Incidentally, I am told by my relations who are still in Cornwall that even now, Capita are the ‘middle men’ in collecting the Council Tax from their ‘customers’ by Cornwall Council). Capita have their financial fingers in so many and various, diverse pork pies (There are other pies available!)

        • overburdenddonkey

the tories didn’t copy labours wca, it’s the same one, they built this policy together, as with many others….they’re not called red tories in scotland for nothing….

i don’t want your thanks, but a reply to the implication of what i reasonably considered, obvs wrongly, was a discussion on how you thought that the info that i provided would be incorporated into your thinking on the serious issues that are being caused to peoples wellbeing, by this behaviourist based noeliberal system that we’re now being ruled by…so it’s now pretty clear that you don’t consider my replies of value to you in anyway, so i’d rather you simply said this, so that i might clarify some more or you said you don’t want/need my input …which is obvs to me now that you don’t want discussion, but a good old gossip, about how bad the bastards are, rather than what can be done about it…

                • paultheswineherd

overburdenddonkey – yeah, you’ve got a point there – but I do try to support downtrodden people when I can. If that is called opinion/gossipping – well I do admit to doing that. (by putting on Newspaper links especially) As you say, my posts as such do not provide people with an ‘income’ as such. I have read your posts about UBI and I basically agree that this principle could work, given the determination by successive Govt’s to implement it – but I am not sure that they would in principle (as that would be against any of their ‘agendas)’.
With regard to you sometimes being ‘nasty to other people’ I would refer you to Marie’s response to you today at 8.02pm – she thought that you were ‘sniping’ about the ‘New World Order’.

                • Marie

Jeremy Corbyn is over 60 and I hope he is going to start some arguments over Tory policies.

        • Yes Paul they are despicable bastards, no doubt on that one. Rotten to the core of their neo-liberal hearts. Usually all major fans of globalization too and all it’s disasters that are carefully stage managed to look like success.

Corbyn and his few allies in the party have a chance to really start something here and make Labour the voice of the people who really need a voice pushing for them in Parliament. Trouble is he has too many of the Blairite bastards as his enemy and i suspect he won’t be able to hold on to the party leadership for that long.

However anyone trying to oust him should remember he has a massive backing from ordinary rank and file members of the party and if they try to go against that and oust him then they’ll be confirming that everything we think about them is 100% true. Basically they like their nice little cushy niche they’ve carved out for themselves and they don’t want anyone rocking the boat and upsetting things.

          • paultheswineherd

Raining – You are right there – I am very afraid that the Blairites are going to usurp Corbyn. He really has to stand his ground against them – as you say they want to hold onto their positions (and I am sure that they will do also). The only trouble is that although the ‘rank and file’ members want to keep Corbyn, these M.P.’s are basically a law unto themselves nowadays – they do not give a tuppenny damn about what the ‘electorate’ think about them. They know that they are in ‘POWER’ for another 5 years or so (with all of their salaries/expenses/booze etc that the ‘taxpayers’ pay for to provide for them). I forecast that the ‘Blairites’ will eventually win and unfortunately Corbyn may well be cast to the wayside – probably before April 2016.
It is a pity but that seems to be the way that ‘politics’ is today.

            • “They know that they are in ‘POWER’ for another 5 years or so (with all of their salaries/expenses/booze etc that the ‘taxpayers’ pay for to provide for them)”
^^ This is exactly why they are desperate to see off Corbyn. They see him as a threat to all that and the nice little earner they’ve created. They have got themselves into a position of power and become divorced from the realities that most of their constituents have to suffer/live with on a daily basis. They’re more concerned with their freebies and cheap subsidized booze from the Commons bars than dealing with annoying things like opposing air strikes on foreign lands etc.

The Labour Party are a laughable disgrace. Corbyn and his few allies are trying to change it, but i think they have the odds stacked against them. Too many neo-liberal Blairite’s still infesting the party and dragging it down. I fear it’s just a matter of time before they ejects him and put a muppet in charge that won’t make waves.

            • overburdenddonkey

              http://wingsoverscotland.com/advice-for-jeremy-corbyn/
this is a sample of what corbyn has said… Let’s just quickly run through those facts, shall we? “The SNP are privatising CalMac.”
Not true. The SNP are following a tendering process which is required by EU law, and which was also undertaken in an identical fashion by the last Labour-led administration at Holyrood. No decision has as yet been made.
“[The SNP] were behind privatisation of ScotRail.”
Hang on, what? Britain’s railways (including Scotland’s) were privatised by the Tories under the Railways Act 1993. The Scottish Parliament didn’t even exist at the time.
Privatisation/nationalisation of railways is reserved to Westminster under the same act – it’s totally outwith the Scottish Government’s control. It’s currently forbidden by law for the public sector to own/operate Britain’s railways except in emergencies.
(We suppose “were behind” could be taken to mean “supported”, but as far as we can establish the SNP opposed the privatisation in 1993. What we can say for sure is that they voted the same way as Jeremy Corbyn in all the Commons divisions on the bill, and also that Labour didn’t repeal the Act during 13 years in power from 1997-2010.)

          • SPOT ON, RAINING………….

  115. paultheswineherd

Cameron (the ‘Prime Minister’ as always described by Sky News!) is nothing but an Eton Toff – ‘pumped-up’ by his own ego and self promulgated view of ‘himself’. He really and honestly thinks that his ‘M.P.’s are totally on his side and that the ‘United Kingdom’ population totally supports his views on everything. That is everything from the membership of the E.U, to the so-called and disastrous ‘Welfare Reform’ – so espoused by his ‘good friend’ and ‘confidant’ Iain George Duncan Smith, the Minister of State for Works & Pensions and also his ‘good friend’ George ‘Gideon’ Osborne, (ably supported and aided and abetted by so many other corrupt and widely drunken M.P’s and Ministers).
These two other ‘trumped-up’ vastly rich and totally lying cunts from the brood mare stable of wealth and priveledge.
All of these (only just elected by a broken FPTP system) millionaire bastards firmly hate the poor, the underpriveleged, the working poor and the unemployed. If they could, they would have all of these, now ‘minorities’ slowly, but surely put into the private workhouses, (run by their friends ATOS, Maximus, Capita & G4S) Indeed, I have no doubt whatsoever, that many of these ‘Ministers’ and ‘M.P’s’ have ‘shares’ in these private slaveholder companies.
    ………………………………………………………………………………………………………..
HOWEVER, THEY SHOULD ALSO NOTE THAT 2016 HAS ONLY JUST STARTED AND THERE WILL BE MUCH MORE SHIT ON THE WAY TO HIT THE FANS OF THE MANSIONS OF THESE CORRUPT BASTARD MILLIONAIRES, AS WELL AS THEIR ‘PRIVATE COMPANY FRIENDS’.

                  4 September 2015

Dear Department for Work and Pensions,

Please provide me statistics showing the number of people who have
died whilst their claim for social security benefits is processed
                  by decision makers.

You recently published statistics showing the number of benefit
claimants who sadly died after there benefits claim was closed,
whilst declaring: “It’s irresponsible to suggest a causal link
between the death of an individual and their benefit claim”.

However, it remains unclear as to how many people have passed away
whilst waiting for their claim to be reviewed and processed –
otherwise known as the ‘assessment phase’ for Employment and
                  Support Allowance (ESA).

This, in itself, is a matter of public interest. Because it
possibly draws into question the speed at which claims are fully
processed and full benefits awarded – particularly for terminally
                  ill claimants.

Please also provide data showing the waiting times for ESA claims
to be processed, including an average, with particular attention
paid to claims made by terminally ill claimants.

Please include the number of terminally ill people who died whilst
waiting for their claim to be processed and benefits awarded..

                  Yours faithfully,

          • “BOHEMIAN GROVE”

Summer Camp for the Rich and Powerful

In mid-July each year, Bohemian Grove hosts a two-week encampment of some of the most powerful men in the world. The Bohemian Club’s all-male membership includes government leaders, even royalty such as the King of Sweden, Carl XVI Gustaf and many former U.S. presidents, such as Herbert Hoover, Eisenhower, Nixon, Ford, Reagan and both George Bush Sr. and Jr., government officials such as Robert F. Kennedy, Colin Powell and Donald Rumsfeld, movie and music celebrities such as Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jimmie Buffet, senior media executives including Rupert Murdoch, CEO of News Corporation and the management of Time Warner, as well as many prominent business leaders, such as the Rockefeller and Rothschild banking family dynasties.Members may invite guests to the Grove although those guests are subject to a screening procedure. A guest’s first glimpse of the Grove is typically during the “Spring Jinks”, in June, preceding the main July encampment. Bohemian club members can schedule private day-use events at the Grove any time it is not being used for Club-wide purposes, and are allowed at these times to bring spouses, family and friends, though female and minor guests must be off the property by 9 or 10 p.m.

            • When rich and powerful people get together, they form alliances to become even more rich and powerful. The Grove membership is wealthy, and becoming more so, while the middle class is steadily becoming poorer and the poor is constantly struggling to eat. By their control of the banking system, money supply, and markets, this close-knit society determines when prices rise and fall. They determine our rights and make laws that do not apply to them, by controlling the whole judicial system. They decide among themselves who is to be in office, from our mayors, our governors, congressmen, senators, to even our president, then selling candidates to us through the very media they own. Important issues are omitted and facts are hidden from discussion or slanted to suit their agenda, but believe you me, they are discussed at the Grove.

Only just into the new year and already the government are taking the public for fools by declaring that the South Atlantic Ascension Islands are to be made into a nature reserve………………….

The islands are a key intermediate military installation that serves the UK and USA.
Any idea of a 300 mile exclusion zone for none fishing is just jargon for keeping snoopers out.

It’s runway capabilities, world snooping capabilities and possible terrorist detention centres are to be expanded beyond belief.
Better aircraft refuelling facilities and nuclear silos will be expanded at the request of the American governments homeland security briefings.

      This passage from Wikipaedia should shed some light;

The island is the location of RAF Ascension Island, which is a Royal Air Force station with a United States Air Force presence, a European Space Agency rocket tracking station, an Anglo-American signals intelligence facility and the BBC World Service Atlantic Relay Station. The island was used extensively by the British military during the Falklands War. Ascension Island hosts one of five ground antennas (others are on Kwajalein Island, Diego Garcia, Colorado Springs and Hawaii) that assist in the operation of the Global Positioning System (GPS) navigational system. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration and the United States Air Force operate a telescope on Ascension Island for tracking orbital debris, which are potentially hazardous to operating spacecraft and astronauts, at a facility called the John Africano NASA/AFRL Orbital Debris Observatory.[3]

……………LYING TO THE UK PUBLIC IS NOW SECOND NATURE TO THE TORY GOVERNMENT……………….

      • “THE BBC LYING NEWS CHANNEL ANNOUNCEMENT THIS MORNING”

        ……….COMPLETE BOLLOCKS !

The government is to create a marine reserve almost as big as the UK in the Atlantic waters of Ascension Island.

Just over half of the protected area will be closed to fishing.

The fishery in the other half will be policed under a grant of £300,000 from the Louis Bacon Foundation, a charitable body.

It is the latest marine reserve to be declared around remote islands, which will increase marine conservation zones to about 2% of the ocean.

That remains a far cry from the 30% recommended by scientists to preserve species and expand fish stocks, but is much more than just a few years ago.

Governments have designated marine parks at Palau in the North Pacific, Easter Island and Pitcairn in the South Pacific, and New Zealand’s Kermadec islands, in what has become a landmark year for ocean conservation

        • BBC controlled by zionists and freemasons. On 9-11 they announced the collapse of WTC7 twenty minutes before it was demolished.

          • Which, in turn, Marie, means that countless millions, maybe billions were awarded as Christmas bonuses to our favourite multinationals having links to Tory selfdom……………..
Think airports, weapons, manpower, security, spying and detention and the same big players come to mind…….

            BLACKSTONE, ATOS, CAPITA and G4S……………………

Is there any wonder half the UK are entrenched in poverty after thieving these collossal sums from the Welfare budget?

            • I totally agree.

            • overburdenddonkey

as is firmly established austerity is bogus…
so why don’t you claim your entitlement, geoff…?

            • overburdenddonkey

as you pointed out 2 or so yrs ago they sent you a form which gave you no choice…but to put yourself forward to respond to them and migrate from dla to pip… reclaim and stand up to them, not rant and rave @ them about how they’ve not given you your rights…tell them your rights, your story, by re claiming and/or appealing…all they’re interested in from your pov is why you believe you’re entitled to ss…throwing tantrums quoting this that or the other law will get you nowhere, unless as you say you have the dosh to fight them and then you won’t need ss in any case… claiming/appealing is FOC, and IS your only way into the system atm…
unless someone volunteers to do pro-bono work for you…which is not likely…
do the paperwork, nothing is going to change the system generically in the nr future, change to the system will be a long time coming even if that change starts today which it won’t…your power right now, is to claim right now…
if you lose, you lose, go again, but imv that’s fighting them for your entitlement…

  117. …………….sorry OBD, but you have either lost the plot or your mental imbalance is starting to show through.
Your insistence to push the Edinburgh welfare alliance and works of Bob Johnson are wearing rather thin at the moment.

You have attacked virtually everybody who submits to these pages, especially Paul.

What is your problem or have you taken to the beliefs and doctrines of the dark side?

Guy fawkes had you weighed up many moons ago.

Put up or shut up, but don’t knock those that are trying to bring the crimes of the Tory party to light………..

    • overburdenddonkey

wow!! geoff i’ve not lost any plot…bringing tory crimes to light, what do you mean…?? they’re plain for all to see…pushing death, death, death, that you do, wore thin long ago for me, balance is also encouraging people to claim and/or appeal, the living are suffering, the dead are not….
you make claiming/appealing seem impossible with your tales of woa… hang your head in shame you said to JV as he spoke the truth of corbyn, it’s you who should hang your head in shame imo…you’ve got an income, knowledge of the system and family support, many out there have nothing…
so you lost your dla…reclaim…i don’t attack any one i say what i believe MUST be said i always have done….you think that yours is the only voice that counts…and to disagree with you means ‘What is your problem or have you taken to the beliefs and doctrines of the dark side?’ ie you’re a sinner if you don’t agree with my pov…’You have attacked virtually everybody who submits to these pages, especially Paul…’ i’ve responded to pauls attacks on me… gf has been consistently attacking me as has EL….but it suits your agenda to say otherwise….i don’t attack people, i respond to what they say… i’ve said it before, i’ll say it again, if JV asks me to stop posting i will….

        http://wingsoverscotland.com/towards-a-better-kinder-2016/
(Because the “victims” get to stoke up their fake outrage in the belief it’ll bring them political gain – which invariably fails to materialise, making them angrier still – and the “culprits” are resentful of the distortions and one-sided coverage, leaving both sides more bitterly polarised than they were before.) The only thing that will foil the media’s goal of filling easy column inches with lurid tales of vile cybernats and Corbynites is to reduce the supply at source. And the only way of achieving that is if intelligent people stop arguing with morons. Everyone on this site who uses social media will be well aware of a slew of figures on the opposing side with whom there is no point whatsoever in attempting to have a debate, so we won’t dignify them here by listing them. No amount of persuasion or evidence will change their minds – inconvenient facts are ignored, arguments are bodyswerved with semantic hairsplitting, hours and hours are wasted with nothing to show for it but more anger and bitterness.
We all know how it works. So why not stop?

      • I don’t know how you dare say guy fawkes attacked you, it was always you and your cronies that attacked me for what I believe,
I had you calling my dream of a free world, maria saying in every post that I was wrong, even though my comments have more meaning than hers ever would have and then there is back stabber Sib telling me to fuck off at every opportunity not to mention razor.
I have always only ever defended myself against those that attack me for my beliefs, and I never ever tried to get anyone banned because I DO believe in free speech.

        • overburdenddonkey

i don’t agree with you NOR does the record…

          • OBD
I think you will find that the record’s on this site do agree with me (i.e. that you lot attacked me, I only attacked back in defence.
God knows why jv sided with your petulant behaviour.

            • overburdenddonkey

no..but you’ll say red is yellow and visa versa whenever it suits…so it’s actually pointless arguing with you…there is a big difference between revenge and defense….in time you might come to realize this…

              • What the hell are you talking about obd, it is you that calls for me to be banned, you are very vengeful and also jealous of others who are more knowledgeable than you.

For the record neither Geoff nor Paul have ever attacked me nor said my views were wrong (each to their own), even though they are as free as anyone else on here to debate or disagree without telling people their views are wrong or coming on here to deliberately insult as moggy did, who was insulted back as my defence.

                • overburdenddonkey

like i say the record shows the truth of the matter…so tell me how did you get on with VOX mike…?

                • Vox Mike made an arse of himself regarding I post I made on he’s site ‘vot political’, but he would do anything rather than admit it and apologize to me, he even erased his mistake from his site.

                • overburdenddonkey

yet another one…oh you poor victim of travesties and injustice…

                • I am a victim of both travesty and injustice politically, but when it comes to websites I find many of the blogg owners dish out their own justice based on whether they like what you say or not, a different thing entirely.

        • GF Actually, I never said everything you said was wrong, I said what you believe about me is wrong, because I know myself and can tell you your wrong about that. I said insulting everybody is wrong, and I said that money doesn’t cause evil but people use to cause evil or be selfish and taking money away won’t solve the worlds problems. I’d like to live in a nice world where everybody helps each other and we are all equals with equal rights. But taking money away isn’t going to get you there. There will still be evil greedy people in the world.

I think OBD has been here a long time, certainly longer than me. He has the wisdom to dish out and has heard politics and that a longer than we have. But OBD is not perfect and only gives his opinion, what we take with OBD advice is up to us. We will each of us keep saying what we believe in and it seems we are all strong personality’s, with our own gripes and opinions. But we are just on a level now to misunderstand each other. I appreciate the advice OBD gives me, he wants me to go and fight, go and appeal and win the bullies that way. But I am tired weary of it and so is Geoff probably. I don’t have time or the strength to appeal again and lose. I’ve had years and years of my life wasted by it and can’t afford to spend it going over and over the same things again, only to end up with the same outcome. So I just moan here every chance I get about what has happen to me and trying to say to anyone who visits here that they aren’t alone in being messed about, because That is all I feel I can do at the moment. Those Tory bastards have depressed me.

          • overburdenddonkey

thanks maria…but i find posting so frustrating esp atm….and on top of that my elderly father died a few days ago…so it’s a good time to stop @ least for now….

            • Know how you feel, really I do, my mother died 2 months ago. It really effects how you feel about everything, when you lose one of the most important people in your life.

          • Maria

I did not start insulting you until after I got fed up of you telling me my opinions were wrong, so don’t try and twist things like your mate obd twister.

You said you were not working because you look after your elderly mother therefore what do you have to appeal?

Whenever you or obd are questioned you start whining on about some tragedy in your life, well other people have had tragedy’s too but they don’t use them as an excuse for being constantly down on everyone.
I have yet to hear either you or obd crack a joke you are so dour, humour is what gets some people through life and can also be used to deflect insult.

As for obd being on this site and giving advice for a long time, I can tell you it has not been as long as me, but I will not blow my own trumpet because many people have contributed greatly to the site also, but got fed up of being attacked and left.

            • Well your wrong about my mother she is gone now. I do a few jobs around the house because my parents can’t do them any more I do what I can but that does not mean I don’t need some support of some kind, that I am able to survive on nothing. That I Push myself as far as I can go everyday, but I am still looked down on by society. That the work I do is out of love and not money.

I said OBD is not perfect but he’s not a tyrant. As he said he’s lost his father that would explain his behaviour the past few days.

I never intended to attack you just say what I thought, I got sick of you trying to make me out to be a bad person just because I don’t agree with you. I’m not a bad person.

              • overburdenddonkey

As he said he’s lost his father that would explain his behaviour the past few days.
                how dare you maria…!

              • Maria, it is you that is calling anyone who does not agree with you a bad person, I have never called people the names that you have called me, yet you constantly sit on here telling everyone you are a good person.

Maria you and obd are phonies if you are in favour of a system that wants to put more money into the hands of the already rich.
You may not be getting benefit because you have excessive savings for all we know, personally I don’t believe a word you say.

You say your mother is dead yet you say you do jobs around the house for your PARENTS.

                • Nothing unusual there, fly 🙂 My Mother has been dead for years 🙂 Doesn’t stop her getting up to all sorts mind you 🙂 And before I go to attend to Mother may I ask if you would you like a room for the night? 🙂 MOTHER!, MOTHER!, MOTHER! what have you done????!!!!!

                • 🙂

                • What are you suggesting? That Maria hoovers around her dead parents? 😀

                • What are you suggesting? That Maria vacuums around her dead parents? 😀

                • Stuffed

With Maria there is just a vaccum where her brain should be.

                • fly, you come on here mouthing your big words and waving your fancy university degree thinking you can make a fool out of us simple, uneducated folks…

              • overburdenddonkey

instead of kneejerking and saying ‘how dare you’, i should have said no it hasn’t affected me @ all…i’ve been more forthright in my posting, is all…take care maria…

                • What you consider to be forthright in yourself obd and Maria you consider insults when I say such things, which is rare because I usually retort with humour rather than nastiness, I save that for the real nasties.

      • Paul has never attacked you, I find him a sweet lad as is Geoff, neither of them would hurt a fly.

        • overburdenddonkey

like i have said I make those judgments, not the like’s of you…

          • ……….You also upset Bob Chewy, OBD.
I admired Bob Chewy, OBD, but you sought to ridicule everything he posted.
A problem shared is but a problem halved. Don’t ever think that just your opinions are valid as we come from such a different spectrum of social circles.

It’s nice to put up an alternative argument but you have also to take in the merits of someones view and the tragedy of their unique situation.

We are mere human beings, nothing more, nothing less, but a wrong worg in a frail ear can have devastating consequences as we witness each day in the tabloids.

Personally, i like your posts, but cut out the recent vitriol and try to embrace the heartbreak and suffering behind the posting………

            • overburdenddonkey

how dare you, bc upset me often…i told the truth i always tell the truth…you trying to make me out to be some sort of uncaring ogre does you no credit and certainly cuts not ice with ME….

              • ………..but rather than attack the establishment, you attack those making the comments.

                • overburdenddonkey

show me an example of this…..

Shows I have got bored & better things to do !!! OBD & Flystalks are as bad as each other – Feed the argument of bullshit. OBD your treatment of Paul is not good. The problem is I don`t take sides I am my own person yet OBD wants a fan club of sides to play stupid games because nothing is as important as posting all day every day. I am bored with it & it`s not constructive.

Geoff is one of the people that does the most [work] on the matter in hand & has done so for years. So stop bad mouthing Geoff OBD.

OBD get away from politics – Politics can`t help us. Forget UBI forget politics plans forget political idiots of all parties & think for yourself !!!

                • steppin this is the first time I’ve heard you thinking for yourself and condemning obd, you are usually too busy condemning me. I have insulted neither Paul nor Geoff even though I may add things to some of their points, I am not a gangster nor a bully, I act in self defence when attacked.

                • Stepping Razor Sound Plate System

                  Bollocks !!!

                • No, sweetbreads!!!!

        • paultheswineherd

Thank you Marie, much appreciated to you for that – and also to Geoff and fly hawkes too. I have never ‘attacked’ overburdenddonkey on here.
In fact I do not ‘attack’ anyone for their views on here – some people have a different opinion to other people on here and I respect that and their various views.
The only people that I do attack verbally are those that are in Government, (of any and all persuasions) who are in the process of dishing out unnecessary cruelty to the people who least deserve it.

    • Geoff It is not just the tory party’s crimes that need bringing to light but also all of the Blairites in New Labour, who are still running many constituencies where they have been elected on the same basis as the Tories.

Don’t think for one minute that the Blairites in the labour party would have allowed Jeremy Corbyn to be leader without some ulterior motive, i.e. to claw back all the real labour party members that left in droves.

Jeremy Corbyn will never be elected to power without the SNP’s help and there does not seem to be a deal on the table as yet.

So true.

    • Very true mate. I hope Corbyn gives that big Tory Hilary Benn the first boot. Said on the news tonight that Benn will refuse to be moved from his current post. Oh well he’ll just have to be shoved out then. He’s the one who stood up and made his grand speech that the Tories all applauded. Start with him. Then Eagle has to go as well. A few others too.

      • Marie just like then as now newspaper articles can be distorted. Photos of mothers and babies could have been taken in a safe haven not a concentration camp or knowing that they were losing the war the Germans may have started treating some inmates better.

There is enough video footage of liberated concentration camps of mass graves, bodies piled high and showers that had had zyclon B pumped in them as evidence.

        • How do you know it was real bodies, newspaper articles and photos can be distorted, there was never any traces of Zyklon B found.

          • Because of the testimonies of the people who were there when the camps were liberated?

        • ffs fly The Moon landings were faked – FACT! Stanley Kubrick of 2001: A Space Odyssey fame filmed the scenes – FACT! Next you you watch 2001: A Space Odyssey take a close look at all the masonic rituals, numbers, symbology… Nothing is by accident in that film. Incidentally, Capricorn One with Elliot Gould follows a similar them as we are shown the Mars landings being faked.

It is the same with Kubrick’s final film (before the New World Order had him taken out) Eyes Wide Shut with the goofy Tom Cruise; take a closer look at the numbers on the buildings etc… 😉

          • btw you have to actually READ Arthur C Clarke’s book 2001: A Space Odyssey before you even begin to understand the film. And an excellent read it is too. Interestingly, Kubrick also made the comment that it would have been a fatal mistake, if as originally intended, they had travelled on to Saturn rather to Jupiter.

            • Hal

I am something of conspiracy theorist myself but not about the holocaust, the moon landings I am not so sure.
The fact is we now have satellites and space stations so some progress must have been made in this area at some time, or are you going to deny that too?

              • ffs gu… fly… seeing is believing! Are you still maintaining that the Moon is a giant alien spaceship made of cheese? Anyway, you can see the space-station with your own eyes. You can see the Moon, some of the planets and stars with your own eyes. And if as you say satellites don’t exist where does our satellite TV come from?, how does the GPS on our dumbfones work? You got some explaining to do gu… fly… 😉

            • Hal

I have not read ‘space odyssey’ , but I have seen the film ‘Eyes Wide Shut’, which I found more amusing than factual.

      • You’re going down a very dangerous road with that line of thought Marie. I’d have a think about what you’re reading and believing before you go much further.

            23 November 2015

            Dear Ministry of Defence,
At the European Court of Human Rights at Strasbourg, during the
case, (1998), between McGinley and Egan v the United Kingdom,
paragraph 100 of the judgement read: “The Court recalls that the
Government have asserted that there was no pressing National
Security reason for retaining information relating to radiation
levels on Christmas Island following the tests.”

This statement. made by the British Government, gave their
assurances that information relating to radiation levels would be
            released!

With the aforementioned in mind, could you please supply me with
            the radiation levels,
recorded by the ‘First’ AWRE member of Staff entering the area of
Ground Zero after detonation of Atomic bombs Pennant and Burgee,
and the period of time which elapsed from detonation to the
            re-entry.

            Yours faithfully,

            Dave Whyte
            …………………………………………………………………………………………………..
After all, I am informed by the Ministry of Defence that they have
lost the results of my two radiation Film Badges: lost the
recording of 5r/h reading of my two QFE dosimeters: lost the result
of my blood count taken after the tests: and have lost my Hospital
records from the Royal Air Force Hospital in Aden.

If one item goes missing it is called an accident: If two items go
missing it is considered negligence: If three or more items go
            missing it is considered, DELIBERATE!

            • PRINCE Philip was warned not to drink the water on a visit to a nuclear test island – while servicemen were fed contaminated food and water.

The Duke of Edinburgh went to Christmas Island in the Pacific in 1959, just four months after a massive test explosion.

Veterans of the blasts say they were told the water safe to drink, but claim the warning given to the prince shows the authorities knew of the dangers facing those on the island.

They are fighting for compensation after developing health problems including cancer, sterility and birth defects in their children.

Ken McGinley, founder of the British Nuclear Test Veterans Association, said: “During one part of his visit the prince was thirsty, because it was so hot, and asked for some water.

“The men scrambled to get him a drink but someone quietly told him not to drink on the island and to wait until he got back to the Royal Yacht. This proves the powers-that-be knew it was dangerous for any man to be there.

              • But the biggest fight a member of service personnel will face, will not be in a theatre of war in active service, it will be the trials and tribulation at the hands of sham medical experts……………………..

The likes of ATOS, CAPITA AND MAXIMUS who, working to a well defined DWP script, will state that the loss of your limbs, your battle ravaged body and mental nightmares are not sufficient for a disability claim………………

“CANNON FODDER TO THE WESTMINSTER ELITE WHO PLAY YOU LIKE CHESS PIECES THEN DISCARD YOU AT WILL”

Hundreds of injured ex-soldiers are being declared fit for work by
Atos Healthcare in spite of physical and mental injuries they
suffered in the conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Last night, the Royal British Legion (RBL) announced a 72 per cent
annual rise in former soldiers having their applications to receive
Employment Support Allowance (ESA) turned down. Several hundred
wounded personnel were denied the benefit on the basis of physical
examinations conducted by Atos, according to the RBL.

The company is contracted by the Department for Work and Pensions
(DWP) to assess benefits claimants’ capability to work.

              • That’s nice, the royal benefit scrounger gets protected, while everyone else gets radiation sickness.

            Geoff

I know someone that was on Xmas Island in the military at the time of the nuclear tests and he has a child with birth defects, but there again we all know the damage radiation in huge quantities can do.

    • “WELL SAID, VICAR”

      CONCLUSION

      16. The government has added complex administration of new benefit cuts, and related costs, to hard pressed local authorities’ responsibilities, on top of council tax and public health administration. The intention is to force people into work and to downsize to one bedroomed homes with the aim of opening up under occupied homes for families. There has been very little result for three reasons;

      a. The failure of DWP to take into account the lack of single bedroomed property in 2013.
      b. The ever higher rents in the private sector.
      c. The difficulty of separating the impact of the HOUSING BENEFIT CUT from what would have happened to employment and housing without it.

      17. The cumulative impact on health of benefit cuts, and the costs to the NHS and the schools, have yet to be fully investigated by the government but is already being measured by the;

      a. hunger and the increase in visits to food banks
      b. increasing visits to the GPs surgeries,
      c. the known link between debt and mental health problems
      d. low birth weight and
      e. growing inequality in expectation of life.

Rev Paul Nicolson, 31st December 2015

      • NO SENSE OF PROPORTION
        AT THE DWP.

It is only from the Ivory Tower of Tothill Street, the DWP Headquarters in Westminster, that a cut in housing benefit could be called by Lord Freud “rather small amounts—£50 or so” in the debate on the 21st December about the reduction of the benefit cap by the Welfare Reform and Work Bill. (just above column 2353)

There is no sense of proportion at the top of the DWP.

        A £50 loss of income can trigger;

a visit to a food bank,
the local authorities’ computers into sending out up to 3.5 million summons to court a year for late or non-payment of council tax, adding up to £125 enforcement costs for a liability order, to which the bailiffs can add £400,
it can be the tipping point into a notice to quit from a landlord for unpaid rent due to the cuts in housing benefit,
these and other debts are known to create hunger, mental and physical health problems.

£43 a week is the Joseph Rowntree foundation minimum income food standard for a healthy diet (see Table 1 in the full report), researched by nutritionists, approved by the public and costed in supermarkets.

A healthy diet competes with fuel, clothes, the price of a cheap pair of trainers, a bus ticket, the bedroom and council taxes for the £73.10 a week JSA for a single adult aged 25 to 60. That £73.10 a week is not increased by the DWP in April 2016; neither are any of the benefits except to pensioners. I am guessing that is the first time unemployment benefits have not been increased in April since they were invented in 1912.

The expected 1% increase would have been £36 a year. That is a “rather small amount”; apparently too much for us taxpayers to bear, but several hot meals lost for the hungry unemployed.

        Rev Paul Nicolson

        • “£43 a week is the Joseph Rowntree foundation minimum income food standard for a healthy diet (see Table 1 in the full report), researched by nutritionists, approved by the public and costed in supermarkets.” – Rubbish! We feed our family of four on less than £5 a weeks. Have this silly Joseph Rowntree foundation never heard of lentils? Or had a look in the ‘reduced’ section of the supermarket? You can pick up a bone for nowt at the butchers (you don’t need to have a dog 😉 ) – no need to waste money on fancy stock cubes, just add some carrots and onions and you got a tasty soup 🙂

  132. FFW new album out soon, Songs for our Mothers; David Clapson immortalised in the song, Tinfoil Deathstar.

One of the darkest and most surreal songs on the album is ‘Tinfoil Deathstar’ – a ghost story which deals with heroin abuse and the spectre of austerity victim, David Clapson.

Saul says: “There’s no hiding it, it’s about smoking heroin. It’s become massively popular among young people in London over the last few years. Part of it is to do with getting older and naturally progressing into harder drugs but it’s also to do with people being impoverished. We’re not making a judgement about it, just writing about it.”

Lias says: “A few years ago no one was on it but then this brown cloud rolled through London. The three nights a week on cocaine? No one can afford that any more. At the end of the song the ghost of David Clapson is standing at the window asking to be let into the party. He was a former soldier, a veteran, who had his benefits cut after he missed one appointment and they found him dead in his apartment. He had diabetes and couldn’t afford to keep his fridge on and keep his insulin cool, which was the thing that killed him. He was found next to a stack of CVs… it’s fucking disgusting. He had £3.44 to his name and the autopsy showed he had no food in his stomach when he died. He had worked his whole life and only started claiming dole so he could look after his mum.”

Saul adds bluntly: “It’s just murder. He was murdered.”

Lias concludes: “It was murder. I like how the song sounds really gleeful and upbeat; the idea of having a warm heroin glow surrounding all of these young people having their youthful opiate adventures but right at the end the ghost of David Clapson is outside the room looking in, tapping on the glass with a bunch of CVs in his hand, waiting to be let in. He is like their Ghost Of Christmas Future. These are two separate realities and they may be disparate but they are linked and I was just trying to bring out this underlying link.”

    • “CHRISTOPHER GRAHAM, THE NEW STATE EXECUTIONER”

Yes you are perfectly right Sian, the death of DAVID CLAPSON was nothing more than a state execution carried out at the behest of DUNKO THE CLOWN…………….

But you have to be aware that the person giving the DWP an alibi to carry on killing is none other than CHRISTOPHER GRAHAM, the Freedom of Information Commissioner.

He is the sanitizer of all the Tory governments bad deeds, each and every death hidden from public view by yours truly……………

CHRISTOPHER GRAHAM will never be a real man because he is chasing a knighthood for all his nefarious deeds. In fact the top of his head must be concave with being patted so much for saving ministers from the executioners block.

When all the shit hits the fan, when all the murders are exposed i want you all to remember the name CHRISTOPHER GRAHAM, because without this loathesome piece of government machinery the true extent of corporate manslaughter would be open for all the world to see…………………….

I wonder if this ‘Information Commissioner’, Christopher Graham is still in the process of pursuing the DWP for them – or has he ‘dutifully given up’ and allowed them off of the legal hook!

Disability & disabled & people with disabilities do not exist. The words are now copywritten words & trademark stamps TM & PLC`s. The general public can not say these words unless they pay for using that trademark in promoting disability confident & maximus. Yet it is the DWP`s responsibility in changing disability as so often said in their Disability Confident PR stunt.

We are all equal in having Disability Confidence & having a worth while meaning for using the word disabled [which we can`t say]. Cotton wool & blanket wars to keep the disabled hidden from the society & useful objects to make money out of. Easy to rip off like a WCA medical over the phone. The DWP spokesperson for Maximus said ” I can`t hear you carry that empty box 50 M. I did not here you lift your arm to your jacket pocket even tho I don`t know your wearing a jacket talking over the phone ” The DWP spokesperson for Maximus concluded.

Is it all become very clear in the mumbo jumbo on containment of the disabled.

    • Stepping – you have admitted to fraudulently claiming benefits for the past 40+ years by lying to the DWP that you suffer from “anxiety and depression”. You are stealing 300 gold sovereigns a week from your working neighbour’s wallets and purses. Do you honestly think that the Government or society at large has the slightest interest in prolonging this scam? Do you honestly think that us hard-working taxpayers will take to the streets and fight pitched-battles with the police and army to protect your handouts? Well, I have knew for you buddy – it ain’t gonna happen! Your days of professional skiving days are numbered! And that goes for most of the rest of the layabout posters on here.

      • Well, I have news for you buddy – it ain’t gonna happen! Your days of professional skiving days are numbered! And that goes for most of the rest of the layabout posters on here.

And Maximus are correct! You are a fucking professional skiver, Stepping! You should be booted to fuck off of your “disability” benefits. Shame on your for stealing 300 gold sovereigns a week from hard-working taxpayers. Have some fucking pride for one in your pan-handling life. Get a fucking job! And don’t say they are any jobs out there!

      • Another Taxpayer

        * And don’t say they aren’t any jobs out there!

      • Another Taxpayer

And don’t come back with any of that “but my own doctor says” guff either. We all know that for years it was far too easy to get a “line” off of doctors who were almost as lazy as their “patients”, and were in a lot of cases too frightened to challenge them as they barged into to surgery demanding a “line” from their “patients”. And those “DWP doctors” were a fucking job. Bring you walking stick, walk a few yards up the road and fall over and get signed off on the sick. We all know the score. That is until Labour brought in the Work Capability Assessment. Admittedly, there may have been the odd unfortunate mistake here and there but in the main it is rooting the scammers and skivers off of disability benefits – and that’s you Stepping – which is what is intended to do.

      • Another Taxpayer

And those lazy bastard doctors who just wanted a quite life and handed out sick notes like sweets should be struck off as well!

In reply to the article from RoughSleepers:

I don’t know how this will display, as we are not allowed the same editing, and paragraph spacing, as the charities are allowed. But, here goes.

As you and the ‘RoughSleepers’ say, it is not a protest. They are doing something that no ‘charity’ that lives, and makes money for salaries, on our back, is doing for us. They are bringing our cases to the world, instead of keeping us in place to make more money.

Tarnishing us to the public, with comments out of sides of your mouth, such as: “it is frequently associated with mental health problems, alcohol & substance misuse, domestic violence and other complications”, only serves to keep us unlistened to, for your own benefit.

I have certainly done more hours at this subject than you, suffer none of your allegations, and know that, although there are those that behave in the manner that you describe, this is false ‘Charity’ propaganda in general. In this time, I have tested most charities, including yours, and recorded the results for a future publication.

We are being abused, for others gain. The only solution, would be the termination of all such charities that are making a good living on our backs, and the appointment of a gov org, whose purpose, and interests, was to reduce our numbers, not inflate our numbers, for more grants, awards, donations, bequeathments, at the cost of our lives.

    ……. Cont

    ……. Cont

“There is already bed space for every legitimate Nottingham homeless person”.

This is typical playing with words again.

‘Homeless’ & ‘RoughSleepers’, are not the same thing!

A ‘Homeless’ charity collects money for the ‘Homeless’.

A ‘RoughSleeping’ charity collects money for the ‘RoughSleepers’.

There is a world of difference, in meaning, and hardship, of ‘Homeless’ & ‘RoughSleeping’.

99.02% of ‘Homeless’ sleep in a house already.
    00.08% of ‘Homeless’ sleep outdoors.

If you are F&F of some of these charities, you will know that to claim Homeless, you only have to claim that you slept on your wife’s/parents/friends settee for one night, and are now eligible for all kinds of freebies, including having a get out of worksearch obligations, council tax, free food from the F&F ‘charities’. Not all ‘Homeless’ are genuine, many are on this bandwagon.

Most ‘Homeless’, get benefits, and foodbank food. Many F&F chose this life for symbiotic advantage from the swarm of phoney ‘Homeless’ charities to support them.

So, obviously, it is easier to help the ‘Homeless’.

The word ‘Homeless’ has been abused to make money, both sides, and has now lost all respect.

    100% of ‘RoughSleepers’ sleep outdoors.

Many ‘RoughSleepers’, get no benefits, and are not allowed foodbank food, don’t have money to spend, etc, there is very little support for this group.

So, obviously, it is more difficult to help the ‘RoughSleepers’.

Many ‘charities’ describe, in their Xmas news-adverts, the hardship, and early death, of ‘RoughSleeping’, to get emotional response, and money, from the public, and then slip-in the numbers, and statistic juggling, of ‘Homeless’, and hope that you didn’t notice their quick switch, and slight of hand.

For every 1 ‘RoughSleeper’, there are 1200 symbiotic ‘Homeless’ in a house that they claim that they are not happy with.

    This is numbers bulking.

‘RoughSleeping’ is a totally different hardship than ‘Homeless’, but will get none of the freebies available to F&F of ‘charities’.

‘RoughSleepers’, are the ones that would benefit more than the ‘Homeless’ from the food, especially the ones that can’t claim benefits & food.

We will never get a solution, while-ever it is an advantage to bulk up the numbers, and keep us, the small number, here.

We get left on the streets to make more emotion & money from the public, and our deaths there, are an added bonus, for more of both.

    Cont …….

    ……. Cont

‘RoughSleepers’ want more in life than to be: “‘Signposted’ to somewhere else”, pay, daily, for a ‘charity’ run, ‘kip’ in a dirty, bug ridden,’dosshouse’, overnight, and kicked out, into the weather, in the morning. And kept in this status quo to ensure an income for a ‘charity’.

    ‘RoughSleepers’ want their lives back.

    ‘RoughSleepers’ want their homes back.

To the public, I would advise:

Before, giving money to any ‘charity’ that claims to do something for us, and asks for your money, walk up to any ‘RoughSleeper’, in any town, in any county, and ask a very simple question:

“Has this ‘charity’ ‘ever’ helped you, or any other RoughSleeper that you know, or given you, or them, anything to eat, any day, any week, any year, any decade”.

From this answer, make an informed decision of whether to give to this ‘charity’, or to give food direct to the needy.

    No money!

This sorts out both sides that sponge on backs.

The trickle down to the poor theory, from ‘charities’ that make lots of Xmas salary money on our backs, does not work.

Get rid of the money, get rid of the fraud on our backs, and next year they will be more honest, or gone, because you have hit their pockets.

At this time of year, the truth matters more than PC, for peoples lives.

Thankyou on behalf of all genuine ‘RoughSleepers’.

  155. “Sorry, you are not a priority, mate!”

https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/114096 I’m campaigning to end homelessness and as a start am calling for the ‘non priority’ distinction that allows 1000′s to be left on the street each night to be scrapped. Will you sign and will you help the campaign?

  156. I wish I had found this post back when it was still hot.

    Where were you man???

I have seen and experienced variations on this theme here in my town – Lubbock, Texas. I am a devout Christian and joined the premier homeless church in this town a few years ago. I soon found out they were promoting a book called “WHEN HELPING HURTS” which seems to harmonize with your post, but which actually is exactly the opposite. They claim you should not give to the homeless; instead you should give to them (the church/charity). They claim giving to the homeless will harm them.

Meanwhile their fleet of vehicles grows, their office space expands, the pastor gets more extravagant vacations etc. But when I tried to host homeless people to sleep inside the church on cold winter nights (a practice this church had been doing for years before) suddenly I was told NO. So, I protested, and they kicked me out!

Now they are the biggest fundraising machine for the poor in our town! Yet homelessness has doubled in the last 3 years here and we still have no real shelter – AND this bunch still closes the doors on the homeless at night. I cant seem to get anyone to notice!

    Thanks for the post.
