Over 100,000 Homeless Children – and the number living long-term in B&Bs doubles in a year

The number of homeless families with children who have been living in a B&B for over six weeks has leapt by 106% in just one year statistics released by the government reveal today.

The shocking report, which both charities and the Office for National Statistics say woefully under-estimates the scale of the problem, shows that over 100,000 children were homeless in the latest period with 68,560 households currently living in temporary accommodation.

Every single measure of homelessness is up, with the total number of households accepted as homeless between July and September this year hitting the highest levels seen so far under this government with a rise of 6% on the previous quarter*.  The most common reason for families becoming homeless was the ending of a tenancy by a private landlord.  A new benefit cap – meaning more housing benefit cuts – plus huge cuts to household incomes when Universal Credit is fully introduced mean the homelessness epidemic is only just getting started.

*These figures only include households accepted as homeless by local authorities.  In practice that means only those with children, over pensionable age or people with a serious health condition or disability.  They do not include nearly 2,500 households judged to be ‘intentionally homeless’ by councils, or the number of families who are homless but not in ‘priority need’ – just under 500o households.  The figures do not include single people sleeping on the streets – also at record levels – or the potentially hundreds of thousands of people sleeping on a friends sofa, squatting or living in an over-crowded family home.  You can view the statistics at: https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/statutory-homelessness-in-england-july-to-september-2015

Number of homeless families living in B&Bs hits 12-year high in England

    TheGuardian – Thursday 17 December 2015 11.40 GMT

DCLG figures reveal 45% rise in households with children living in emergency bed and breakfast accommodation

The number of families with children living in emergency B&Bs in England rose by 45% in the 12 months to the end of September, the highest level in 12 years, official figures show.

A total of 3,000 households with children were in bed and breakfast-style accommodation on 30 September 2015, the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) said. Of these, just under a third had been in that kind of accommodation for more than six weeks.

The figure is the highest since the summer of 2003 and underlines how councils are struggling to find suitable lodgings for homeless families.

Reading spending on B&Bs for homeless triples to £2 million

    GetReading – 16th Dec 2015

More than £2 million has been spent on housing homeless families in B&Bs in the last 12 months.

Reading Borough Council’s spending on bed and breakfast places for the homeless people has tripled in the last year, up from £707,000 the year before.

Outside of London, Reading has one of the highest costs for placing its homeless people – spending the most on bed and breakfast places with the exceptions of Brighton and Hove and the Medway Towns.

Reading Borough Council media relations officer David Millward said the increase in use of bed and breakfast accommodation in the town has been well documented in the last few months.

He added: “The number of people who have come to the council to tell us they are homeless has been increasing enormously in Reading since 2010.

The Council have a duty to house people & if there are no housing it`s B&B`s which are a huge cost. So it ends up costing 10 times more. Then there`s Welfare Reform savings !!!

      • "Sorry, but you are not a priority, mate..."

Not if you are ‘intentionally homeless’, not in ‘a priority group’, or not in a ‘vulnerable category’. The only thing the council have a ‘statutory duty’ to provide is ‘advice’ which take the form of a one page leaflet.

      • "Sorry, but you are not a priority, mate..."

In fact, there was a case of a Belgian woman who committed suicide after she ended up on the streets because the council refused to help her. It has been well researched, documented on various TV programmes. Someone who isn’t a ‘priority’, ‘vulnerable’ etc. is welcome to present themselves to the council as ‘homeless’ and see what happens – they will tell you to get lost!

      • "Sorry, but you are not a priority, mate..."

People seem to assume that if they end up homeless the council will re-home them automatically, kind of like how they assume if a cat is stuck up a tree the RSPCA or Fire Brigade will rescue the animal, or if they fall on hard times and cannot afford Christmas presents for the kids the Salvation Army will be on their doorstep to rescue them……

        • what use is the council then? They are being paid to carry out nothing but regressive orders and provide nothing to these people.

The truth has an uncanny way of finding it’s way to the surface no matter how influental your position or the depths you will plumb………….

Smith is a psychopathic killer but he gains strength from the evil that he deals out on a daily basis. His actions will be well recorded in the political history, his death a time of jubilant celebration.

That one photograph of the dead young boy washed up on the beach brought tears to millions across the world. Smith’s joy is to emulate the impact across the entire spectrum of welfare reform, none stopping till every young kid in Britain is in a similar position.

Evil has no bounds, the Tories cannot see over the parapet of entitlement, every child a target, a threat to their oafish plutocracy.

How many will die over the Christmas period is anyones guess, if a government can kill disabled, poor and week, then the deaths of children will not make them alter course.

Soon there will be another gun amnesty. This week has seen the call for a new law to punish those than engineer replica guns to fire real ammunition.

Cost of Iain Duncan Smith’s troubled plan for benefits rises to £15.8bn as Major Projects Authority report reveals HS2 also among schemes at high risk of failing.

The overall cost of Iain Duncan Smith’s key welfare scheme appears to have risen by £3bn to £15.8bn in two years, according to an official report that shows several other significant government programmes are also in danger of collapsing.

Geoff – One somehow has to feel just a little bit sorry for them – after all, every one of these so-called ‘health care professionals’, every one of them, from the lowly, bedpan washer, care assistant to the ‘slightly higher’ in status, physiotherapist have been promised so much more than they could have earned otherwise, ranging from £38000-£75000 per year by Maximus and the like. I am sure that this company would not have informally said that ‘you have got to be totally heartless with the way that you deal with your ‘customers’. ‘The idea is to strip them of their deserved benefits as much as possible’. ‘You may well get extra bonuses for doing this’. However, they, in doing what they have done, having left secure employment in the ‘public sector’ most probably would have known that they were taking a huge amount of risk in doing this.
Anyone in their right mind would have considered everything very carefully beforehand.
If, having now taken up their ’employment opportunity’ they really only have themselves to blame. If, perhaps they ‘received an anonymous and veiled threat’ to them and actually stuck with it and then continued to carry out the ‘wishes’ of their employers, Maximus, etc. – and they eventually received an unwelcome ‘Home Visit’ – well, I am sorry if I offend anyone, – but they have only got one person to blame and that is themselves.

I must admit that I personally know very little of the WCA, apart from what I have seen reported on here. The whole system seems to be terribly skewed in favour of the DWP and to ‘save money’, but it all seems to be costing even more money than it is saving. Typical Government as ever and always!

it’s main motive is conditioning populations to accept rule…

              • overburdenddonkey – I have had a look at this and yes, this makes a great deal of sense. Government Conditioning – an ideal way to get the populace to submit to them.
The main trouble nowadays is that the ‘sheople’ seem to be ‘happy’ to oblige. The Murdoch controlled media tells them ‘lies’ and ‘they’ believe them. Murdoch’s press is more than happy. I can really see a time now when the BBC is also soon to be sold off to Murdoch as well to add to his empire. After all, Osborne’s ‘friend’ (Harding) is now the head of the BBC.
If anyone really thought that the BBC was not ‘Tory’ biased, then just a look at Question Time last night would have confirmed it. Dimbleby’s son, Henry Dimbleby, it seems attended Eton with Jacob Rees Mogg (on the ‘panel’ at the time) Dimbleby ‘laughed’ and did not know where to look – as did the ‘audience’ (in Slough) also! Well, there’s a thing!

              • overburdenddonkey – That is interesting – tell them enough lies and they will definitely believe it. The BBC I am sure, will soon be taken over by Murdoch. The BBC, so-called non biased, yet Dimbleby on ‘QuestionTime’ last night was very well upstaged by the Tory, Jacob Rees Mogg, who came out with the fact that he had attended to Eton with Dimbleby’s son, Henry Dimbleby!

                • Question is as limp as a soggy sausage. When we were flicking through the satellite channels the other day we caught something called the News Hour on an Indian channel in English presented by someone called Arnab Goswami. They were having a ‘debate’ and it was like four of them plus the presenter shouting at the top of their voices. Funny as fuck! Wonder if this guy will take over QT when Bumble Bee pops his clogs lol

You’d never see that in Question Time. But to ‘foreigners’ when they are insulted, get agitated, get provoked, wound up it is perfectly natural to get angry and to express that anger. But woe betide a claimant in the UK who raises their voice or a member of the public who questions the judgement of a government official – you will be thrown into a padded cell in an asylum or a police cell. In the neutered-down UK it is not ‘socially acceptable’ to get angry or to express anger. Talk about ‘operant conditioning’. There must be a lot of bottled up anger in UK society. It will be too bad if one day that anger expresses itself in one almighty explosion.

                • But woe betide a claimant in the jobcentre in the UK who raises their voice to a ‘work coach’ or a member of the public who questions the judgement of a government official – you will be thrown into a padded cell in an asylum or a police cell.

the point i was making is that they’re NOT honest and not worth bothering with as far as the claimant is concerned….telling stories of woe is not helpful, ignore their shit….if the claimant stands up to them during the process by not cooperating with the contents of their reports they have no power…like i’ve said get it recorded and don’t let them steal one’s symptoms….ie they’ll put things on it like restricted medical after saying you don’t have to do this that or the other, then one is shocked, if one trusts them, don’t give them one’s trust, if it’s recorded they can’t do that…but as you’ve not been through this process you won’t know…so why do you waste my time having to explain this to you…??

    • The rich kids of Instagram last night on tv, I watched more or less the opening lines “it used to be vulgar to talk about your wealth”!
I’ve got news for them – it still is, especially when there are people suffering austerity cuts to let these idiots keep more of their money in taxes and who throw something the poor’s way in the form of charity.

I say their money only because we have a capitalist system where there are no limits as to what can be earned, instead of all incomes from every profession being lumped together and shared out amongst everyone.

I don’t think the millions of people that can afford to make celebrities rich by buying their cd’s going to see their performances etc., or partake of the internet kings services want to see such wealth concentrated in individual hands.

The rich can afford to pay their cleaners, cooks etc huge incomes but those doing the same job for the masses, who really keep the country running are not afforded the same rewards because there is not the wealth for those in lowly professions working for small businesses or public services.

Sport is another area that has been managed to bring in vast financial returns at the expense of their fans.
Greed rules and asking the rich to pay a sizeable amount of their vast incomes in tax is frowned upon by those that are in professions that can command it, even though the people in lowlier jobs work just as hard.

Perhaps someone should do a survey and ask the rich celebrities if they would be willing to work alongside lowly paid fellow workers and pool all incomes into one central pot and share it out amongst everyone.
It would be interesting to see what they would say.

Justin Tomlinson, appointed in the new government’s reshuffle, will assist Iain Duncan Smith in implementing Conservative reforms to the benefits system and making £12bn as-yet unspecified cuts.

Mr Tomlinson has a record of voting against provisions that would see more support directed to the disabled and sick.

Breyanna Knox filed a lawsuit Oct. 22 in the the Tyler Division of the Eastern District of Texas against Maximus Inc., based in Reston, Va., and with an office in Austin.

According to the suit, in 2014, Know began working for Maximus as a customer service representative. Soon after she developed a tumor in her uterus, causing her to need more frequent bathroom breaks.

The suit says she informed her employer about the condition, and on Jan. 22, her doctor completed paperwork provided by the defendant to outline her accommodation.

On June 26, the suit alleges, a supervisor for Maximus told Knox she was abusing her accommodation and not keeping up with her work. Furthermore, the suit says she was terminated that same day.

The complaint suit says her termination is unlawful under the ADA.

Knox seeks a trial by jury, damages including lost wages and benefits, reinstatement to her job, attorney fees and court costs. She is represented by attorney Donald E. Uloth of Dallas.

ps noop ‘Child Abuse by Adults is Evil and Terrible’ how does the child KNOW that they’re are being or have been abused, esp since you’re claiming abuse and behaviours are culturally defined, as opposed to naturally defined, via emotions/mental pain ie c-ptsd/ptsd, which btw aren’t learnt responses but natural responses and/or emotional dysfunction, after all you do claim that decency is learnt…..and who’s defining what abuse is, the child or the adult…? anxiety and/or being numb (passive) which is controlled compliance anxiety, is a natural response to abuse…

      • “NEW DWP ONSLAUGHT AGAINST REMAINING DISABLED SURVIVORS”

Activists this week described the move as another government attack that would lead to more disabled people being driven into poverty and despair.

A consultation document issued by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) last week examines possible changes to how the use of independent living aids and appliances by a claimant is “accounted for” during assessments for personal independence payment (PIP).

The changes would affect those trying to claim for the daily living component of PIP in England, Wales and Scotland, but would not affect mobility component of PIP, which is gradually replacing working-age disability living allowance (DLA).

Government documents have estimated that the number of working-age claimants would be cut by as much as 28 per cent by 2018, with 900,000 fewer people receiving PIP than if DLA had not been replaced.

PIP currently takes into account claimants’ need to use aids and appliances to complete the assessed activities, with two points – the lowest level – scored for most questions, such as “needs to use an aid or appliance to be able to dress or undress” and “needs to use an aid or appliance to be able to speak or hear”.

        http://www.disabilitynewsservice.com/governments-new-pip-proposals-will-drive-more-into-poverty-and-despair/

“A CUNT BY ANY OTHER NAME”
Justin Tomlinson, the minister for disabled people, defended the consultation.

He said: “The criteria for aids and appliances has expanded to, in some cases, include items we would expect people to have in their homes already, have only a one-off cost associated with them, or are already available free of charge on the NHS.

        • “SIR LEIGH LEWIS COMPLICIT IN HIDING WELFARE RELATED DEATHS”

Damning new evidence suggests that senior figures in the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) covered up a coroner’s warning about the grave dangers posed by a new disability assessment.

Disability News Service (DNS) has seen a series of letters that suggest the department was given all the information it needed to carry out an urgent review of the safety of aspects of the work capability assessment (WCA) in 2010.

But that review – ordered by coroner Tom Osborne through a process known as a Rule 43 letter – appears never to have been carried out.

Osborne wrote to the department on 30 March 2010 – originally addressing his concerns to Labour work and pensions secretary Yvette Cooper – just a few days before the start of the general election campaign.

His letter followed an inquest he had carried out into the death of 41-year-old Stephen Carre (pictured), from Eaton Bray, Bedfordshire, who had taken his own life in January 2010*.

On 4 May, Osborne received an initial response from the DWP’s most senior civil servant, its permanent secretary, Sir Leigh Lewis.

Maximus took over the assessment of sick and disabled people from pisspoor French firm Atos earlier this year, clearly expecting to do rather well from the deal. But results published in the US last month show it is already operating at a $4m loss, with revenue of $105m falling far short of the predicted $140m-$165m. There were two causes for the loss: the company is having trouble recruiting doctors and nurses willing to carry out the much-criticised tests, linked by researchers with the deaths of sick and disabled people; and it failed to generate enough income.

He told the Standard a well-spoken smartly dressed man, aged between 40 and 50, told him to vacate his seat because he was the finance manager of an upmarket hotel.

The man offered no other explanation as to why he deserved to sit down, claimed Mr Loveday.

When the bizarre request was dismissed he asked a young Chinese woman to give up her seat using the same ploy and she did, Mr Loveday claimed.

A group of young Muslims are travelling to and from Cumbria in order to lend a hand to local residents affected by the flooding.

The youths, who are part of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association (AMYA), are distributing food and water, helping older residents move furniture, clear debris and providing moral support. The group is also contributing money to pay for essential equipment and supplies.

Dr Aziz Hafiz is the director for disaster relief for UK charity Humanity First, which partners with AMYA to “assist wherever there is need irrespective of race, colour, creed or religion”.

“There were up to 60 volunteers this weekend and they arrived in the early hours of the morning and returned home in the evening. Then they were back again the next day,” he told HuffPost UK.

“The response from the locals has been truly amazing and touching. The gratitude has been very emotional, even though the volunteers work [freely] as it is an essential tenant of their faith to serve humanity for no reward.”

We know that the muslim’s and those of other faiths are kind due to following the rules of their faith, only the foolish fall for all of the media bullshit about them, but when it comes to being forced to work for charities rather than being found jobs that offer a wage, then we are living in a parallel world where those at the top are earning vast amounts and paying their servants to see to their every need and those that are unemployed on benefits and forced to care for the sick, elderly and poor because there is not enough paid work. You cannot expect people to work and live on nothing in a country that uses income as a means of exchange.

Just another reason why I think we should all have our needs taken care of and see an end to currency altogether.

Benefit mistakes and delays are causing families to go hungry and putting homes at risk, a group of MPs has warned.
Frank Field, chairman of the cross party group of MPs, said late or insufficient payments were leaving “vulnerable people in desperate situations”.
The committee acknowledged “many parts of the welfare system work well” but it found evidence that benefit problems “often led claimants to face difficult decisions over whether to pay their rent or provide essentials such as food, gas and electricity for their household,” with many becoming reliant on food banks as a result of underpaid benefits.

The committee also said there were concerns over the “five to six-week wait” claimants have for their first universal credit payment, especially for “households who have no savings or a final pay cheque to fall back on”.

The Institute for Fiscal Studies said that 2.6 million families would be worse off under the new system of Universal Credit than they would be under existing tax credits.

The killing of minorities by DWP should be recognised as genocide, more than 60 parliamentarians have said in a letter to the PM.

They urge David Cameron to use his influence to reach an agreement with the UN that the term genocide be used.

“There would be two main benefits from the acceptance by the UN that genocide is being perpetrated.

“First, it would send a very clear message to those organising and undertaking this slaughter that at some point in the future they will be held accountable by the international community for their actions; they will be caught, tried and punished.

“Second, it would encourage the 127 nations that are signatories to the Convention to face up to their duty to take the necessary action to ‘prevent and punish’ the perpetrators of these evil acts.”

      • “XMAS GREETINGS FROM THE DWP”

James Smith, 38, is one of many people across the country who will be required to attend a Work Capability Assessment (WCA) this Christmas Eve.

He suffers from a very severe form of ulcerative colitis, an illness which forced him to give up a career in youth work which, in 2010, saw him meet Prince Charles as an ambassador for the Princes Trust.

Mr Smith will be accompanied by his father during his WCA, after a series of bad experiences with the DWP’s chosen contractor “Maximus Health and Human Services”.

Speaking to The Independent, he said changes to government support for the disabled in 2014 had set the country back 40 years.

“How would it make you feel, to have a chronic, incurable condition with 21 years of medical notes and be treated as though you are lying by a company that would rather lie than educate themselves on disability.

“To not be allowed to enjoy Christmas because you have to attend an assessment which will most likely dominate the whole of Christmas Eve.”

Mr Smith said he was lucky to have a strong support network behind him, and requires the WCA sign-off in order to have his state pension approved rather than to receive immediate benefits.

But he said he imagined the threat of sanctions to others in a similar position would “financially and emotionally ruin Christmas for people who have no way to hold the DWP accountable”.

“They have to show more compassion,” he said. “Even in the First World War, a truce was called to stop the killing at Christmas. I am angry and saddened that those with disabilities and chronic illness mean so little now to the rest of society.”

        http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/jobless-and-disabled-people-could-have-benefits-stopped-on-christmas-eve-under-tough-new-sanctions-a6781706.html

        • “HUMBUG”

Jobless and disabled people could be stripped of their benefits this Christmas under a strict new sanctions regime for the festive period, it has been claimed.

In an apparent hardening of the Government’s attitude to welfare, those who miss a job centre appointment, interview or work capability assessment in the immediate run-up to the holidays could now be told the news on Christmas Eve itself.

The Independent had previously reported the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) would be running a “business as usual” approach to Christmas this year, and was accused of taking a “Scrooge-like approach” to the season.

In new claims denied by the DWP, the SNP say this will be only the second year the approach has been taken, after a series of unwritten “special operations” were scrapped that previously protected claimants from having their Christmases ruined.

The party said concerns were raised by DWP staff themselves, who told the SNP they were made to call people up with bad news on Christmas Eve for the first time last year, and were unhappy they had to implement the alleged change in policy.
          ‘Scrooge-like approach’

Hannah Bardell, an SNP member who raised the issue in Parliament last week, has now written to the Work and Pensions Secretary Iain Duncan Smith urging him to “show compassion and reinstate the special arrangements previously in place”.

In a letter seen by the Independent, she expressed concern that DWP staff “will be forced to sanction claimants up to and over the festive period, including for example on Christmas Eve”.

Ms Bardell wrote that the previous grace period was in place because “it can be a very difficult time for some people, with sanctions having an adverse effect on both staff and claimants”.

“I have been advised that last year it caused considerable distress to both staff who were forced to implement sanctions at this time of year and indeed claimants, who received the news.”

          • The Department for Work and Pensions has admitted that people will see cash losses to their in-work benefits under the new universal credit system and suggested they could make up for it by working an extra 200 hours a year.

In a new document on universal credit, published after parliament has broken up for Christmas, the department said people could “recoup the loss” caused by lower in-work benefits from April 2016 by taking on an extra three or four hours of work a week at the new “national living wage” of £7.20 an hour.

Iain Duncan Smith, the work and pensions secretary, has repeatedly insisted that people on universal credit will not be worse off because of changes to in-work benefits announced at the summer budget.

            http://www.theguardian.com/society/2015/dec/21/universal-credit-benefit-cuts-work-allowance?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other

“It’s the measure of Iain Duncan Smith that he is trying to shift the blame for the cuts on to the victims. His Christmas message is work an extra 200 hours a year and you’ll be no worse off.

“A single mother working full-time with two children is set to be up to £3,000 worse off as a result of the cuts, while 2.6 million working families stand to lose an average of £1,600.”

An extra four hours a week at the new minimum wage of £7.20 an hour would make someone another £1,500 a year.

Won’t the extra hours be taxed at 20%- if you earn over about £11k per year?

              From the above:-

“A single mother working full-time with two children is set to be up to £3,000 worse off as a result of the cuts, while 2.6 million working families stand to lose an average of £1,600.”

An extra four hours a week at the new minimum wage of £7.20 an hour would make someone another £1,500 a year.

A single working mother earning over £11,000 (personal allowance from April 2016) in order to take home an extra £3,000 per year would have to gross £3,750 at 7.20 hour that’s an extra 521 hours per year BUT won’t the Universal Credit also be reduced as result of this extra income? I can see this will be similar to the tax credit fiasco- as the numbers are crunched for actual individuals/families the truth will out.

Brilliant scheme. More kids in after school care for longer hours. Just where is the capital going to come from to pay the extra hours? From the companies’ profits? I think not. Will the extra 200 hours mean someone else in the same establishment loses 200 hours? The unemployment rate is somewhere around 5% which is fairly close to full employment (accounting for the normal job changing) So who’s going to give these people make work jobs?

  81. Discredited Maximus adds care inspections to DWP portfolio.

The care watchdog has been criticised for awarding a discredited outsourcing giant new contracts to manage the use of service-users as expert advisers in care homes and hospitals.

Two-thirds of the new contracts to run Experts by Experience – which pays people with experience of using care services to take part in Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspections – have been awarded to Remploy.

Disability News Service has also learned that Remploy is offering disabled people who work as Experts by Experience under its contract about half the hourly rate they are currently earning under the programme.

Remploy, which will start delivering the Experts by Experience programme on 1 February 2016, was formerly controlled by the UK government but is now mostly owned by the US outsourcing company Maximus, which already has a huge chunk of Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) contracts to provide employment support and assessment services for disabled people.

Imagine living in a care home when you know that it harbours killers that are intent to cut the treasury bills…………….

The DWP must see this move as an acknowledgement that the other thousands of deaths have somehow been overlooked.

They are sadly mistaken, only fooling themselves that the litigation will never start………………

With Christmas around the corner they should realise that the dead will come back to haunt them.

            • Natalie READ (staff nurse)

“Hurry up Mrs. Smith, your bath is ready”

“Put her belongings in a bin bag, thats the last we will see of her”

“A bed has just become available, you are so lucky”

              • Natalie – I should imagine that this happens all of the time, especially with the 80 & 90 year olds – but, ‘it should never be known’ – (at least publicly!)

            • Sarah 7 – Also judge Mark Rowland who it seems is an ‘ex-Commissioner of the DWP’ – in heaven’s name how is this man even allowed anywhere near a ‘Tribunal’ whose job it is to decide whether or not disabled people get the benefits that they are entitled to or not.
If this is not a ‘conflict of interests in Public Office’ then I am a Chinaman.

you have no idea what you’re talking about i’ve had 8 and 1 UtT which i won….yes it’s bad, but not that bad…

                • paultheswineherd

overburdenddonkey – I am only commenting upon what I have seen and read on here – so, yes, I have personally had no dealings with any of this as such. BUT do you not think that it may be a ‘conflict of interest in Public Office’ to have an ex-DWP Commissioner as a ‘JUDGE’.
All that I can say is (as you say also) one should always appeal any decision that may be made – if you no not appeal, then you will lose anyway!

                • overburdenddonkey

what you’ve read on here is also what i’ve posted, which you can never remember, you said it yourself…and i’ve also read whats on here, and been through the process many times and commented on THIS…. so what are the facts of geoffs case…??
yes i do think it’s a conflict of interests…but this has always been so, it’s still a matter of personal interaction and an understanding of the actual process….and how one goes about it….one has to go through it to get benefit entitlement…

              • overburdenddonkey-
                1) I have NEVER EVER said that I cannot remember what you have said – at least as far as I personally remember!
                2) I am not going against you in any way.
                3) I am glad that you think that ‘it is a conflict of interests’
                4) You need to to go back to Geoff to explain all of this (re Judge Mark Rowland) After all, I have no personal dealings with all of this!

                • overburdenddonkey

me ‘so you will remember what i’ve said in future then…?’
you ‘I will try to – but I’m not too good at remembering about comments any particular person has made in the past on here – there are simply too many of them to commit to memory….’
                  2) I am not going against you in any way…. but you implied, that what other posters say count for more…
                  3) I am glad that you think that ‘it is a conflict of interests’ i have never said any different…
                  4) You need to to go back to Geoff to explain all of this (re Judge Mark Rowland) After all, I have no personal dealings with all of this!’…why are you commenting on something that you have no knowledge of…?
ie believe geoff, but when i give my opinion you cast doubt over it’s credibility…

          • Geoff you are so right about how old people’s lives are being ended prematurely in care homes and hospitals, pathways has been criticized on tv and about time.

Ending Capitalism should be the final solution.

          • Geoff

Disability discrimination, employer who is preventing me from applying for any jobs in that company, because of my disability, bearing in mind I am determined to continue with trying to get a job in that company, I will not stop. I know I may never be employed by that company but it may help others. with your experience in discrimination what do you think.
I have all the names etc etc.

  82. Fucking IDS wants working people to work even more hours on Universal Credit – what sort of world does this psychopathic cretin live in?
And more importantly, when is this psychopath going to be stopped?

    • Each time i post anything to do with the DWP and it’s freedom of information responses it is deliberately blocked.
They are very, very afraid of any repercussions concerning claimant deaths, so much in fact, they will intercept electronic data to achieve it.

      • I know that all our remarks are intercepted because about 14 months ago i placed a story regarding an attempted suicide due to a DWP SANCTION.

Within minutes the police were at my door, refusing to leave until they spoke with me regarding my suicide bid.

They seemed amazed when i showed them the story i posted had been cut and pasted from elsewhere and was nothing at all to do with me.

  84. overburdenddonkey – (A personal message) I really want to be your friend – and definitely NOT your enemy. I realise that we are not of the the same ideas, except being of ‘Celtic’ origin – I am ‘Cornish’ & you are ‘Scottish’. I don’t see that we are any more different – as in the ‘Welsh’ that the ‘Cornish’ are so allied to.
The Scottish are allied to the Irish (as I am also – I have Irish in my ancestry)
I am a ‘working’ person, but I know that – at an instant, I could be reduced to someone who has to sign on to JCP benefits. I watch everything on here, both good (but unfortunately at the moment, mostly bad)

  85. Which is fortunate given your record for being rude to people.

  86. Can someone tell me how to post an image/photo on here. A bit slow on the social media stuff. Thanks.

  87. I am sure ‘Reed in Partnership’ could help you out with that.
Just tell them it is for a job interview, and book a two hour session on one of their 9 yr old hired computers and ask for the person in charge of I.T. to help.
The ‘advisors’ know sweet fuck all about anything, let alone midling pc use.

  88. Unless you include pocketing cash bonus shares from their friends at Reed the employment agency, at which they are excellent.

    • “PATIENTS UP AND DOWN THE COUNTRY CELEBRATE JEREMY HUNT’S PROMISE OF FREE WI-FI IN THE NHS”

………………Hospital wards were littered with empty beer cans and bottles after Hunt’s amazing promise. Singing could be heard from John o Groats to Lands End.

Only the biggest cunt in the country, who has no aspirations of saving lives could come up with an offering as worthless as this.

The few hospitals that will still exist after this tosser has given them to his friends in the private sector, will be decimated beyond belief.
Hunt’s pathetic attempt to divert attention is like putting out deckchairs on the Titanic or icing a coffin…………………….

What would wi-fi enable the last few free patients to do?

They could contact each other from the Las Vegas parking machines in the car parks or go online to see if NICE, the National Institute for Clinical Excellence, has withdrawn their life saving drugs.

Ambulances and tents erected outside over populated A&E departments will be able to contact short staffed wards to see if any broom cupboards, annexes or tiled floor space has become available…………….

This myriad of possibilities has no end, patients will be able to go on online betting sites to wager money that they die before they leave as more and more, nil by mouth posters are hastily stuck on struggling ward walls.

Hunt is a first class cunt. His steely eyes those of a tory shark that is willing to gamble with human lives to fulfil the ambitions of the parliamentarians and lobbyists who are stuck up the private health insurers arseholes.

      • “ATOS, CAPITA AND MAXIMUS WELCOME FALLON’S IDEA OF COMMITTING MORE TROOPS TO AFGHANISTAN”

Michael Fallon’s private war came a step nearer to absurdity after he sent more cannon fodder into Tony Blair and Jack Straw’s theatre of lies.

Waiting on the touchlines will be the profit driven conveyors of death in the guise of the three stooges, ATOS, CAPITA and MAXIMUS…………..

If the Taliban can’t kill our guys then i am sure these rogue outfits will.

With limbs missing, shell shock and trauma, each and every one will be found capable of work, that is, those that don’t come back to be repatriated, the latest words for killed in action.

450 of our finest stationed in the middle of nowhere in non combat roles, pull the other one you war mongering bastards that are a million miles from the battlefront in safe haven Westminster.

The nearest you will ever come to battle is arguing over your lavish expenses or fighting over the price of taxpayer discounted freebies in the subsidised dining areas.

yes, that’s indeed much better, noop…the next step probably the most difficult for yourself, is to say something that most people don’t know already….

      • OBD when I made the same remarks as you to Maria (who was trying to teach us seasoned penny pinchers how to make soup, which is not relevant really to politics, just a make do and mend theory), you and her jumped on me telling me how insulting I was as fly hawks.

Carry on no oppression you are doing a grand job, keeping up the political momentum.
