Shameless – Workfare Exploiting Charities Slam The Benefit Sanctions They Are Responsible For

times-letter-sanctionsIn an act of breath-taking hypocrisy, the Salvation Army, along with the YMCA, have both signed a letter to The Times calling the current benefit sanctioning regime unfair and counter-productive.

This comes despite both organisations being involved in ‘Mandatory Work Activity’ and therefore responsible for reporting unemployed people to the Jobcentre to face sanctions if they don’t turn up for unpaid work placements.

The Salvation Army has even been praised by the DWP for ‘holding the line’ on workfare after scores of charities distanced themselves from the scheme. When peaceful anti-workfare campaigners visited the Salvation Army in protest at their use of workfare, the charity locked them inside and attempted to have them arrested with fabricated stories of staff being man-handled.

The Salvation Army have repeatedly defended their involvement in mandatory welfare-to-work provision and also their operation of a Work Programme sub-contract. Claimants on this scheme, including those on out of work sickness or disability benefits, can be ‘mandated’ to almost any job search related activity that the charity can dream up, including workfare. If their victims fail to do what they are told then it is the Salvation Army’s job to report them to the DWP to have their benefits sanctioned.

Not for the first time some charities are pretending to care about the poor in public whilst stopping their benefits behind the scenes.  If the Salvation Army and the YMCA think sanctions are unfair then perhaps they should stop sanctioning people.  Until then, these grubby attempts to white wash their own workfare crimes should be treated with the contempt they deserve.

To join the fight against workfare visit Boycott Workfare’s website.

Charities and voluntary organisations opposed to workfare can sign the Keep Volunteering Voluntary agreement.

The damned cheek of them! The Salvation Army and YMCA are not charities to me – they are responsible for sanctions being applied, therefore seeing people go hungry, and that includes children!

“HER MAJESTY’S COURTS AND TRIBUNAL SERVICE”
…………better known as wrinkly lizzies disability denial wing.

THEY CONTINUE TO TRY AND BLOCK MY APPEAL GOING TO THE UPPER TRIBUNAL…………………..

    9TH JULY 2014

    DEAR MARTIN BRADFORD;

WITH REGARD TO THE LETTER YOU SENT ME ON THE 25/ 6/ 14, WHICH I PERCEIVE AS JUST ANOTHER FUNCTION OF YOUR DISABILITY DENIAL PROGRAMME IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE DWP.

BEING DISABLED I HAVE A RECOGNISED STATUS UNDER THE TERMS OF THE EQUALITY ACT, IT IS CALLED PROTECTED CHARACTERISTICS.

FURTHER TO THIS, I HAVE ALSO THE RIGHT TO A FAIR TRIAL AND LEGAL AID AS SET OUT IN ARTICLE SIX OF THE HUMAN RIGHTS ACT.

IT IS NO GOOD TRYING TO BLOCK MY APPLICATION TO APPEAL TO THE UPPER TRIBUNAL BECAUSE I WILL JUST PROCEED TO THE HUMAN RIGHTS COURT MYSELF.

HAVING CORRUPTED JUDGES AT EVERY LEVEL IS NEITHER FAIR, IMPARTIAL OR INDEPENDENT.
SUPERMARKET JUSTICE AS THE BASIS OF A FAIR HEARING IS JUST A JOKE.

THEREFORE I AM REQUESTING MY CASE BE MADE AVAILABLE TO THE UPPER TRIBUNAL OR FAILING THAT, CROWN COURT, WHERE MY CASE WILL BE MADE AVAILABLE TO A JURY.

I AM NOT AFRAID TO TAKE MY CASE TO THE VERY TOP WHERE I WILL EXPOSE THE LYING, CHEATING AND CONTINUAL DISABILITY DENIAL / ETHNIC CLEANSING OF THE POOR AND DISABLED.

IT COMES AS NO SHOCK THAT THE HEAD OF THE DWP, DUNCAN SMITH, IS TRYING TO COVER UP THE LEVEL OF DEATHS ATTRIBUTED TO WELFARE REFORMS…

ONE THING IS FOR CERTAIN, THE ATOS EXAMINATION RESULTS WERE DEEMED TO BE UNNACCEPTABLE AND POOR BY YOUR OWN GOVERNMENT, I WISH TO CHALLENGE MY MEDICAL REPORT IN A COURT OF LAW AND EXPOSE THE LIES SENT TO ME BY THE DWP THROUGH SEVERAL FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUESTS.

EVEN MORE SINISTER, IS HOW PREVIOUS MEDICAL REPORTS FROM THE DWPS OWN DOCTORS HAVE BEEN SUPERCEEDED BY A CHARLATAN POSING AS AN EXPERT HAVING GAINED A WORTHLESS CERTIFICATE ONLY RECOGNISED BY OUR SECRETARY OF STATE AND NO OTHER MEDICAL ORGANISATION.

THE MEDICAL REPORT AFFORDED TO ME DEFIES BELIEF AS THE CONTENT CONTRADICTS ITSELF.

YOU HAVE BEFORE YOU ALL MY FACTS ABOUT HOW I WAS AWARDED A DISABILITY FOR LIFE BY DOCTORS HAVING A HOST OF LETTERS AFTER THEIR NAMES THEN SUBSEQUENTLY STOLEN BY A LIAR AND A CHEAT WORKING FOR A DISCREDITED COMPANY GUIDED BY THE DWP TO REDUCE DISABILITY COSTS.

I HAVE SENT A COPY OF ALL YOUR CORRESPONDENCE TO THE HUMAN RIGHTS / EQUALITY COMMISSION.

    I AWAIT YOUR RESPONSE……………………..

FOR AND ON BEHALF OF, G. REYNOLDS.

    • It works like this, you go to the lower, the judge fucks up, you apply to the lower to go to the higher, you give reasons, an alternative judge tells you to fuck off, you apply direct to the higher and give reasons, the higher consider it and if they think you have a case they contact the DWP and ask if they object, they might or might not object, the higher either take it on or tell you to fuck off.

As IDS has just been told, the higher tribunal is all about a fuck up in the letter of the law from the lower judge, not somewhere you go when you just don’t like what the lower judge said/judged or you don’t like the laws he/she was working to.

P.S. I’ve been to the higher, I won, it’s a slow process, you need support to properly identify if you have a case and if so support to win it, and then trust me, just because you won, it don’t mean shit to the DWP, I’m still at war with them over a year later, over exactly the same shit, the spinning plate bastards, I’m working hard to smash them fucking plates. That was a lot of “fucks” but its an emotive subject, I might be talking to you soon Mr Void.

P.P.S. All caps means you’re shouting.

      • overburdenddonkey

        max
i’ve been to UTT and won with no support…they use term error in law so people tend to look at the actual law and not how the facts fit the law….looking @ things as wrong in law, works better imo…present the facts and all elements of how a judgement is made ie natural law procedures etc and let the UT judge decide whats wrong and what needs to be put right, if anything…

  3. More like an open begging letter to IDS decrying the cracks in the SLAVE SANCTIONING REGIME that has tripped them up and exposed their fraudulent hypocrisy.

The 1st principle has to be UNCONDITIONAL WELFARE otherwise we end up where we are today with a SLAVE SANCTIONING REGIME.

  4. Reblogged this on UNEMPLOYED IN TYNE & WEAR and commented:
First the Lib Dems pretending they didn’t really like the Bedroom tax, now this. What next ? Iain Duncan Smith proposing benefit increases ?

  5. GEOFF REYNOLDS

Yes, sheer hypocrisy from the likes of the slave traders……….

One foot either side of the line and wearing two hats, they make one want to puke!
………………….and all in the name of charity, what a fucking joke.

The big wigs at the top mulling round in flash motors ON UNBELIEVABLE PAY SCALES, whilst the do gooders at the bottom work for nothing, volunteers.

THESE HORRIBLE BASTARDS TAKE EVERYTHING FOR NOTHING AND HARDLY GIVE ANYTHING IN RETURN.
THEREFORE TAKING ON SLAVES FITS THEIR AMBITIONS TO A TEE.

Now they have the cheek to pretend to be concerned for those that they openly abuse…………………

It’s like having slaves chained to an oar, propelling your ship and telling the whiphand that all is unfair………………..

“NEXT TIME THEY RATTLE A TIN IN FRONT OF YOU, RATTLE THEIR CAGES AND TELL THEM TO FUCK OFF”

“QUESTION THE PRICE OF GOODS IN THE SHOPS AND SHOUT, HOW MUCH, YOU ROBBING CUNTS, YOU GOT IT FOR NOWT”

…………..anyone, or any organisation who try to capitalise on someone else’s predicament, by non payment of the going rate, at any workfare scheme, deserves all the shit they will receive.

  6. These charities make the overseas sweatshop owners look like nice people in comparison!

Dear Department for Work and Pensions,

If a JSA claimant is participating in CWP under duress to avoid
being sanctioned, whilst simultaneously following the complaints
process due to a strong belief the referral was inappropriate and
    the complaint was subsequently upheld:

    1) Would the claimant be entitled to compensation for any hours
    worked on the scheme?

    2) If so, how would this be calculated?

    Yours faithfully,

    D McManus

Anton left an annotation (15 June 2014)

That Chris Grayling lied is in no doubt. He went on the ‘Today’ programme on radio 4 in the morning and claimed in relation to the Cait Reilly case, that the scheme was voluntary. That’s because someone in the DWP removed clause 14 from the guidance document as soon as he was invited to go on the programme. The guidance when she was on it was clear:

    “Work Experience for JSA Claimants
14.Where you are providing support for JSA participants, which is work experience you must mandate participants to this activity. This is to avoid the National Minimum Wage Regulations, which will apply if JSA participants are not mandated. ”

It would be interesting to know which version of the document the DWP supplied in evidence when the case came to court. Did they supply the version which was in force at the time when Cait was on the scheme or the edited version at the time of the trial? Certainly clause 14 significantly weakens the DWPs case.

    • Has, anyone been sent to A4e (on a course called ambition) and, if anyone has. What is it like ??
      cheers

      • Another Fine Mess

No, and never heard of it, but I can tell you it’s rubbish.

        • That, was what I was thinking when Jcp said I have a course with A4e. (According to Jcp everyone who participates loves the course)
          A4e = boredom boredom boooredom

      • A4e love sending people on shitty so-called courses don’t they? They claim they don’t have the money to send people on courses which would enable them to get nationally recognised qualifications, yet they insist on sending people on ‘confidence and motivation’ courses with the likes of EQL Solutions (know as Elmfield Training before it went into administration).

        • Another Fine Mess

They put you on courses where they can get EU or SFA funding, not whether the course is any use or not.
I’ve been on them where I’ve learnt the meaning of simple words, how to do sums, and how to get a bus to work. Of the victims I’ve met on these courses I’d say less than 10% of us needed any of that ‘help’. It’s just a multi-billion £ scam, and many of the tutors know it

And the reason they think unfair is the knock-on effect of benefit sanctions on the housing benefit revenue income stream which they have been exploiting for decades (they are useless at collecting rent – and charge more than anyone could possibly afford anyway). As organisations they don’t give a shit about homelessness in fact they thrive on it!. Poundlands by another name …

Shameless is exactly the right word for this. Relevant addresses are at the bottom of the article if you would like to make your opinions known.

  13. I bet that nasty dictator Idi Amin Smith must be laughing his ass off if he knew the trouble he put me through last week. I’m now on fucking anti-hayfever medication prescribed by my doctor because of that fucking manky stuff going up my nose in a nasty death trap placement. I’ve had hayfever for a number of years, along with bouts of bad sneezing fits which I managed to cope with. But no more can I, now being on happy pills designed to prevent my health suffering.

Until I get screwed over with my third attempted placement with those lame fuckers Seetec, I’m stuck in their poky offices for fuck knows how long doing jobsearch, modules and team building rubbish – building paper towers from newspapers, like I had to humiliate myself with today.

‘I know what is a great idea for a CWP trainee without a placement after we fucked his health up – let’s get him fucking about building paper towers from old newspapers as we can’t give a monkeys about him’ – SEETEC

  14. The DWP are up to their Nazi tricks by now going to the Supreme Courts to try and force workfare at us. stupid tossers.

  15. fen id sit there all day and do jack shit wtf is the point of the above anyway like you say just to make you look stupid, dont do it, all you need is proof you went bus tickets ect and you will win a sanction doubt🙂

i had to do shit like that years ago now seems its just the same over again ask seetec if you die on site will they still get the cwp fee. and ask for some rope and a ladder lol

like my mwa letters it did not state a job role or what was expected of me other that turn up on threat of sanction and that was it.

i went and they still sanctioned me so you cant fkn win other than fight the cunts, we can fail to turn up ect yet they can fail over and over again and they keep there fees its a fkn joke.

id also take a phone and start recording there bs they want you to do and post it on you tube after a week or two and show everyone there bs course.

fkn adult play group lol i asked 1 provider to pay for a brick laying course and the reply i got was we dont have the funds for that but we might have some Lego in the games cupboard i could use pmsl.

  16. The Salvation Army in South West Scotland have been campaigning recently to encourage donations to food banks. But the Salvation Army is a cause of sanctioning and poverty by enthusiastically supporting the right-wing agenda of workfare, then being quite happy to report their hapless victims to the DWP when the forced work is not up to their idea of perfection. So they are responsible for the things they are campaigning against! Just plain bonkers! But then, long ago I gave up expecting logical thought from extreme religionists. Look carefully at who runs the Salvation Army – they are rather frightening and unpleasant people. At least I understand that now.

  18. I find it both offensive and hilarious that the YMCA are now signing up to a statement about sanctions being unfair. The YMCA have been gleefully sanctioning individuals since at least the 1980s. When YTS/YT was running, whole weeks of “training allowance” was stripped from youngsters on arbitrary whim of the staff. No formal guidelines existed, for some staff it was licence to freely bully and persecute.

Since the YMCA used to make massive PR (and funding) gain out of “helping” those came from backgrounds of severe deprivation, young people hanging on by the skin of their teeth, in care homes, atrocious hostels or those just released from “correctional” type institutions and those who had fallen through any net available, it’s particularly offensive to see them bleating about sanctions now.

The YMCA and their staff never cared about vulnerable 16 year olds being out on the street with no money due to sanctions they had applied. This included those with health conditions, learning disabilities and those with mental health problems.

The YMCA and the SA are toxic, parasitic bullies. Civilisation should have no place or need for them.

Aunty Fester adding delusion to her skills.

“It’s you working on you, to say, where do you want to go, what skills do you have, what skills do you need. A few years ago, it was only executives in companies who had that sort of coach, that sort of mentor. We have brought that to the benefits system as well.”

“For many welfare claimants, she says, the key to employment is confidence. “It is about nurturing and support. It is about building confidence and self-esteem, saying, ‘You know what, I think you can do this, you can get there.’ ”

  20. I remember reading George Orwell’s account of receiving help from The Salvation Army in his book ‘Down and Out in Paris and London’. He said these organisations couldn’t even give homeless people a cup of tea and two slices of bread without making the whole process stink of charity.

Now, eight years on, there is a different type of stink eminatinating from these so called love-thy-neighbour outfits. It’s the stench of hypocracy.

They’ve been involved up to their necks in govenment policy regimes that actively creates poverty and suffering in society for many years and it seemingly hasn’t bothered them in the least. But as soon as public opinion starts to move against slave labour programmes these holy rollers suddenly find a sense of humanty they’ve lacked and start critcising the imposition of sanctions against the poorest people in society.

When this work-for-your-pittance nonesense is finally abolished I really hope that people will remember which charities exploited claimants on workfare schemes and will refuse to deal with these organisations.
