Delegates at tomorrow’s workfare conference will enjoy a slap up meal whilst their victims queue outside foodbanks
Child poverty, eviction, special dietary needs going unmet, ill health, street homelessness, depression, suicide attempts, self-harming, relationships fracturing, utilities being disconnected, people with mental health conditions being sectioned, claimants forced to beg, go through bins or steal to survive – all of these things have been well documented as the consequences of benefit sanctions. And all of them are acceptable as punishment for missing a meeting with your fucking Work Programme provider the vile participants in tomorrow’s workfare conference believe.
Almost one million benefit sanctions are now handed out every year by Jobcentres and the welfare-to-work sector. Benefit sanctions are one of the main reasons so many families are queuing at foodbanks. Children are not just going hungry, but without toys, clothes, days out, Christmas or birthday presents, all because their parent’s have committed the crime of being unemployed. No-one is left out. Sick or disabled claimants, found unable to work at present, can still be sent on workfare or face being plunged into destitution by sanctions.
From the gushing tweets on the hashtag for tomorrow’s conference #IntoWork2014, it is clear those involved in this vindictive regime are proud of what they do. They expect us to believe they are helping people, when all they are really doing is helping themselves to billions of pounds of tax payer’s money. Britain’s biggest benefit scam is based on the lie that unemployment is caused by unemployed people and that no-one ever manages to find a job without the shoddy help of thieves like A4e and G4S. The truth is that they just pick up huge job outcome payments on the back of normal churn in an employment market where real full employment is neither feasible nor desirable according to the think-tank who helped design these schemes. A think-tank funded, incidentally, by the welfare-to-work sector.
Whilst those whose lives they have demolished queue outside foodbanks, delegates at tomorrow’s conference will enjoy a slap up dinner at the plush Crown Plaza Hotel. Some tickets for tomorrow’s event cost an astonishing £450. There is no shortage of our money being squandered on this back-slapping celebration of bullying unemployed, sick or disabled people. If you only do one thing tomorrow, then make sure to let these parasites know what you think of the fucking disgrace that is the welfare-to-work industry.

3 weeks later get a letter from provider this time from a London addr saying i failed to turn up for mwa and that me end day was the day i went there and i no longer have to take part.
4-5 days later get the good cause letter from the dwp wanting a reply in 7 working days why i did not turn up.
so even tho i went they still will fucking lie to get the hands on the mwa fee and try to sanction my jsa in the process for there cause and im shitting on them wtf universe r these cunts from.
and there sub contracted from rehab group @250 for each slave and the rest is there profit for doing what bar fuck all.

Because a mass demo would be unlikely to happen, and would probably achieve nothing – and if you think the BBC is reluctant to cover anti-government/capitalist demonstrations I hardly think there’d be a greater chance of Sky News covering it – owned as it is by Rupert Murdoch, who is fully in favour of what the Tories are doing, and who would probably buy the BBC if/when the government put it up for sale.
They may be funded by dodgy regimes, but I would suggest that perhaps Press TV (Iran) or RT (Russia) would be the news channels that would broadcast such a demo – or maybe Al Jazira.

My experience of back-to-work schemes run by private concerns is they are abysmal. Not one found me a job; one even asked to use MY standard letter of application I had writtenmyself for themselves- yet couldn’t find me a job with them.
When I found work, the scheme I was currently forced into had no input whatsoever; I found the work by my own efforts, but they continued to harangue me with letters and ‘phone calls requesting details, which I refused to supply on the basis they were not instrumental or even assistive in my finding work and they weren’t using MY efforts to support their statistics and greed.

here’s some excellent idea’s to dis advantage people, drive up rents and cap housing benefits, stop building homes, effectively ration homes to drive up prices and to keep the prices high, drive up food and commodity prices…lower interest rates for homeowners, drastically increase them for the poor…massively increase sanctionable “offences”…then to get @ those over 60 stop paying out state pensions or PGC until people reach 65/66 and keep them sanctionable on isa/esa @ £72/wk or less…then we can all be on appeal with no money on mandatory reconsideration’s and then be told that poverty is caused by us not making the effort to get a job paying above poverty wages of £20000+ pa..at the same time decrying those who are in work poverty, around 6m+ ,and as there are 4m fewer jobs in our economy than are actually needed, we can all disappear in ever decreasing viscous circles…i’m sure that this is not a complete list of helpful suggestions…

Just heard some union guy on BBC News saying that councils have massive vacancies for social workers “because nobody will do the job for that rate of pay”. That’s just compete and utter bullshit!
There is indeed a huge shortage of social workers, and it’s not the pay that isn’t attracting people,(though it may be a factor, but generally it *looks* pretty good) but the sheer workload and the fact that government (and the public) like to scapegoat social workers and the sheer levels of stress that social workers have to deal with that makes the job unattractive. Remember, that whilst social workers may be well meaning ‘do gooders’ they exist primarily to patch up and take care of those who fall by the wayside under capitalism. If social conditions were better the need for social workers would be less and the job more attractive. How would you react if you had to deal, day in, day out with your client base giving you (through no fault of their own) shit all the time, especially as there is basically less and less they can do to help. You’d also have to face all the shit coming from government, where they deny you the basic resources to be able to make a difference, and then blame you for your failure – surely a familiar pattern by now.
Sure, social workers often leave a lot to be desired, and there are a lot of out of touch (i.e. middle-class) people doing the work – they try and empathise, but in reality don’t have a clue because they simply haven’t been in the position that many of their clients find themselves in.
Teachers are likely to become equally hard to recruit if that idiot Gove has his way,

The last time I signed on i was told to sign on at a different part of building than I normally do the next time as I fall under the Work program finishers who finished before April 18th. Turns out I am signing on again amongst the work program signers and I was even asked when my next appointment with working links was. I told them I finished that last year and she just said ok.
