Meet The Green Workfare Charity Boss Who Also Runs A Biotech Firm And Builds On Greenbelt Land

bob-lawsonThere are few things more contemptible than those who claim in public to care about poverty or the environment, yet show no such scruples when it comes to making a buck.

Bob Lawson is the Chairman of the Groundwork Federation, an organisation currently the target of anti-workfare protests.  Groundwork are a ‘green’ charity, who boast on their website of ‘helping people create healthier, safer and greener places’.

Like so many of the idle rich, Lawson doesn’t just have one non-job, he has three.  When not prancing around pretending to be some kind of eco-warrior, Bob Lawson is also the Chairman of Barratt Developments PLC.  This organisation have a very different approach to creating healthier and greener places, which mostly involves the use of a bull-dozer.  There have been countless protests against the company who are currently littering the countryside with houses for posh people.  Barratt would rather build on greenbelt land than create green spaces.  They have also been the target of anger for attempting to water down social housing provision.

Lawson’s third job is as the Chairman of Genus plc.  Mostly this company genetically modifies cows and pigs to sell to the factory farm industry.  Never trust a hippy.

Bob Lawson is not the only hypocrite at the Groundwork Federation.  Their CEO Graham Duxbury wrote in a piece for the Huffington Post last year that we should “hang our heads in shame” about people finding themselves forced to choose between heating or eating.  Yet some of those people will have been sanctioned for failing to attend workfare organised by Groundwork.  Benefit sanctions are one of the biggest causes of people forced to depend on foodbanks, and facing what Duxbury calls “real agonies”.  It is not us who should hang our heads in shame.  It is Graham Duxbury and his planet-fucking Chairman.

As part of the week of action against workfare tell Groundwork what you think of their use of forced labour on twitter @groundworkuk and facebook them here

  1. Have been and posted on Groundwork facebook page – I’ll go check soon to see if the posts have been removed.
Do you know what really gets me? That people are so thick as to believe that they are doing any good – they should research people and companies first off before volunteering to make paths for the so called “charity”!

  2. Reblogged this on Jay's Journal and commented:
So much for helping out with Groundworkfare!

  3. Another Fine Mess

There is supposed to be a debate on Benefit Sanctions in parliament tomorrow, sometime/anytime after about 11am.

  4. Robin The Boy Wonder

    Ugly fucker, isn’t he….

    • He has a face only a his mother could love. Scary as F&%K his face is. And this whole Green thing was known long ago as a false front. They the same as all the other cunts.

  5. totallygivenup

aahh was waiting for the sanctioning “review” i can see a suspension of sanctions for the lead up to the election and how greatfull we should be and doth our cap but we know after 2015 WHEN cameron becomes king again they will be back with a vengance fucking clever and the sheeeples go bah bah 4 legs good 2 legs bad

    • The Etonian old boys elite squatting in power will only probably propose a sanction ‘amnesty’ just before they know they are running out of votes leading up to the next election and that every vote for them counts from the people (unemployed or not). And that once if they get back in power, they will turn the tables on us and increase sanction usage and the punishment lengths, currently 4 weeks or 3 months or 3 years.

  6. Reblogged this on Beastrabban’s Weblog.

  7. Bob Lawson –

the bastard lovechild of Margaret Thatcher and Saddam Hussein

  8. Local employer’s open day yesterday being held at my WPP –

I forgot to telephone Trading Standards over this bluff bullshit given by my WPP. Not one proper direct employer as you would probably expect with the bluff foisted upon us work programme slaves. All we got yesterday were four recruitment agencies, none of which based in my town or have business connections here, and my WPP trying to recruit people.

As for my personal battle with the cunts over fobbing me off, I’ve forced them into a corner in actually doing for me what they were supposed to do from day one. I hope now to see them do me good for once and stop the fucking nonsense and threats over sanctions.

  9. Hypocrite!

  10. One might argue that these filth can’t be very effective in their job(s) if they are directors of multiple companies since they can’t possibly devote the time and attention one might assume would be needed.

One might also argue that people like this are cunts.

  11. “Never trust a hippy.”

    Was this necessary?

  12. in other news maria miller remember her,has got a bit of comeuppance, karmas a bitch.

    • Yeah but she’s really got away with it hasn’t she? She has to pay back a tiny percentage of the money but she still keeps her job and is not facing criminal charges like the rest of us would in similar circumstances.

All in it together? i think not.

    • The verdict and judgement on Maria Miller should have seen her sacked and pay every penny back, the likes of her live in luxury while the rest of us live in a police state.

How bloody stupid also forcing education down 2 year old throats for the ‘POOREST’, the poor kids have plenty of brains they don’t need to fiddle exams but you will not see them getting anywhere in life without the opportunities. Less corruption, nepotism and social networking and more recognition of the skills or talents of the poorest.

      • If she had any morals left she should resign and fall on her sword. For someone caught out like that it’s the only thing to do. Of course many of them have no shame and try to bluff it out and carry on.

    manchester on saturday. april 5th
    mid day at piccaddily gardens.

  14. Landless Peasant

I’m guessing that the majority of unemployed people, like myself, will refuse to participate in Osborne’s Slave Labour scheme, and am eagerly waiting to see how my local Jobcentre is going to cope with up to 20,000 people signing on a daily basis. It’s going to be absolute fucking chaos! And if it happens I will take a bag of cat shit with me each day, and tip it on the pavement directly outside the Jobcentre, and tread in it before entering the building. And I’ll do that every fucking day! I’ll keep a pair of old shoes/trainers specially for the job. hahahhaha 😀

    • a few stink bombs wouldn’t go amiss, better than a fire alarm.

    • What a laugh LP! I can just picture it now! That’ll teach them!

    • Another Fine Mess

It might be easier to accidentally walk in some just before entering the Sanction Center. Don’t forget to wipe your feet – on the way out.

    • You can cause as much disruption turning up early to sign on as turning up late, plus it does not put you at risk of sanction. At appointments ask as many questions as possible to put them off their script this also backs up the appointments and gives them less time to terrorise the next person signing on.

Always take my leave with as many repeat job print outs as possible, must inconvenience them in some way.

  16. I suggest that as many people as possible reading this head on over to their Facebook page and let them know exactly what we think about them and their practices. I’ve done my bit, so have others. Sure they may try to censor us and keep us quiet with deletions and edits, but we’re still getting our message across in the meantime. At the very least it will inconvenience the bastards!

    • I agree we have to keep pressurizing them even after this week of protest is over by questioning them on twitter, FB, by email and in person if you can get to talk with any of their managers! That seems to be quite difficult to do as they all seem to disappear when any protests are ongoing.

Now i wonder why that might be?

  17. The more of us act, the better.

    • GEOFF REYNOLDS

…………..IT SHOWED HOW MUCH OUR POLITICIANS THINK ABOUT THE POOR AND DISABLED.

TODAY THERE WAS A PARLIAMENTARY DEBATE ON THE USE OF SANCTIONS AGAINST CLAIMANT. AT ONE TIME I COUNTED ONLY NINE MP’S IN THE CHAMBER.

      THIS IS TRULY SHOCKING!

A NORTHERN MP DID CATCH MY ATTENTION WHEN HE CONCLUDED THAT HISTORY WILL LOOK BACK ON WHAT IS HAPPENING AT THIS TIME, IN ABSOLUTE SHAME, HIGHLIGHTING THAT WE ARE BEING BOMBARDED WITH THE EVILS FROM TWO HUNDRED YEARS AGO THAT WERE PRESENT AT THE TIME OF THE POOR LAWS.

IT’S A PITY THIS OPINION IS NOT SHARED BY THOSE WHO FAILED TO TURN UP FOR DEBATE.

BY VIRTUE OF THEIR ABSENCE, THEY OBVIOUSLY SUPPORT THE EVIL THAT IS NOT JUST THRUST UPON THE CLAIMANTS THEMSELVES, BUT ALSO ON THEIR PARTNERS AND CHILDREN.

IN OTHER WORDS, THE SANCTION IS NOT ONLY AIMED AT THE PERSON GETTING THE SANCTION, BUT INDISCRIMINATELY PENALISES THOSE BEHIND THE SCENES…………..

CRUELTY HAS NO BOUNDS TO MEMBERS OF THE TOTALLY UNCARING PCS UNION MEMBERS WHO WOULD RATHER FULFILL TARGETS SET BY THEIR SUPERIORS, THEN SIT BACK AND READ OF THEIR IGNORANCE IN THE OBITUARY COLUMNS…….

  18. The Work Programme should carry a governmental health warning, similar to a packet of cigs. As a result of trying to make my WPP wake up and actually work with me and not against me, I’m now on strong painkiller tablets to try and deal with a nagging, vicious nerve pain all over one side of my face and head caused by un-necessary stress to me.

Thank you, stupid tossers at the WPP for bringing on constant face and head nerve pain / inflammation and sleepless nights connected to it. Not even constant PC or PS2 gaming could bring on difficult, constant nerve pain, such as I now have from those money grabbing fools.

  19. ”…the irrationality and cruelty demonstrated by some of the examples that MP’s gave hinted at something more sinister and I began to wonder if something along the lines of the Stanford experiment was in fact taking place. The mind-set of those some of those operating the system was most starkly revealed by a recruitment agent Kelly-Jane Stone who openly boasted on Twitter of the satisfaction she felt when her actions led to someone having their benefits stopped.[2]http://alextalbot.blogspot.co.uk/2014/04/the-great-psychology-experiment-with.html
