1000 Mothers March For Justice, with families, carers & supporters

11am Saturday 29th March 2014
Assemble at Bruce Castle Park,
Lordship Lane N17 8NU

Move off 11.30 – march down Tottenham High Road to Tottenham Green East, N15 4UR for a PUBLIC SPEAK-OUT

Follow up meeting: Haringey benefit claimants and supporters
11 am – 1 pm Saturday 12th April
North London Community House, 22 Moorefields Rd, N17 6PY

MOTHERS OF LONDON SAY:

MARCH TO DEMAND living incomes and decent, affordable homes to rent or buy for waged & unwaged.
MARCH TO REJECT bedroom tax, housing benefit caps, unfair taxes, hunger and cold homes – austerity hurts vulnerable people, the rich get richer.

The £500 overall benefit cap forcing families to pay rent out of the income they need for food, utilities, clothes and transport or be evicted and deported away from their extended families and vital support to anywhere in England or Wales; cap rents not benefits.

The bedroom tax hits disabled people who have one or two spare bedrooms. It also hits 50 to 60 year old adults who become unemployed and are expected to survive on £71.70 a week minus £24 pw bedroom tax and £5 pw council tax. People evicted are forced out of London – this is social and ethnic cleansing.

20% of the council tax has added to the misery of residents. Last year Haringey Council started court proceedings against 23,000 households adding £125 court costs and in over 9000 cases bailiffs’ fees, which have already been increased by 42% this year.

Sanctions imposed by jobcentres punish people for little or no reason leaving them penniless for up to three months.

Freezing increases in benefits at 1% a year while prices escalate inflict hunger and cold on thousands of households.

Food banks as an alternative to social security; the three days food does not end hunger for adults or children. Supply food by right, not by charity.

The activities of ATOS inflict poverty on disabled people with inappropriate fitness for work tests carelessly administered.

  1. Mothers of London:Cannot be there with you but you all have my support. ‘Anyone who knows anything of history knows that great social changes are impossible without feminine upheaval. Social progress can be measured exactly by the social position of the fair sex’ (Karl Marx).

    • Landless Peasant

That’s very true, and I’ve been thinking that will be something to occur and come more to the fore in many aspects of global injustices. Perhaps in the next few months/years to come feminine upheaval will gain momentum as a force for change, real change not the shite Blair and Obama blathered on about but a feminine-led ‘Reformation’ of the Old Order of things, the Patriarchy that fuels capitalism, exploitation, war, brutality, etc. will be swept aside as Woman Redeemeth Man!

  2. overburdenddonkey

i cannot be there, and for many reasons i dearly wish i could be there…warmest wishes from me to all who march for justice, i march in my own way…

  3. OFF TOPIC. I have just got wind of this so I thought I had better post. The government want to change the F.O.I. Act. They obviously do not like the proles asking awkward questions. On their terms this is called “abuse”. Beware folks, what limited freedoms we have got are being curtailed even more. http://foidirectory.co.uk/government-to-launch-consultations-on-changes-to-foi-act-to-make-sure-it-is-not-abused/

    • Could i get answers on a FOI request about are my local JCP using Workfare slaves and how many?

      • Give it a shot. Use the “What Do They Know” website https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/ You can only request recorded information and they can only give you same. I would suggest doing it soon before the government take it away or start charging for it, vis a vis tribunals….

        • I’d like to know if my local JCP is doing this as i suspect many of them are. I’ll have to fill the thing in and ask them. I just don’t know if they’ll answer a question about a specific JC.

          • All Joke Centres are on the fiddle. Shut the fuckers down and make the desk monkeys do slave labour. Their current jobs is all they fucking know about and have got in their insignificant lives.

            • Very true i hate that place.A bunch of friggin’ pencil necks, out to save their own asses, sums them up nicely. Shit scared of their own shadows, in case they end up sitting on the other side of the desk!!!!

WHEN THE DWP REPLY TO A FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST REGARDING MORTALITY STATISTICS FOR THOSE WHO HAVE DIED AS A RESULT OF WELFARE REFORMS, THEY ALWAYS HIDE BEHIND THE WORD, “VEXATIOUS”.

VEXATIOUS, LOOSELY TRANSLATED, MEANS DESIGNED TO ANNOY……

………….STRANGELY NON OF THE NAZIS AT NUREMBERG DECIDED TO USE THIS WORD AS AN ALIBI FOR THEIR ATROCITIES PERPETRATED AGAINST THE JEWS IN AND OUT OF EXTERMINATION CAMPS.

HANGING FROM ROPES ON HASTILY ASSEMBLED GALLOWS, THEY SEEMED TO REALISE THEIR ACTIONS HAD BEEN SUBHUMAN AND KNEW THEIR PAST WOULD EVENTUALLY CATCH UP WITH THEM.

      REGARDLESS OF THESE BLACK EVENTS IN OUR HISTORY, THE DWP SEEM TO THINK THAT VEXATIOUS HAS A DIFFERENT MEANING, SUCH AS;

OK, YOU’RE ONTO US, WE KNOW WE HAVE DONE WRONG AND TAKEN THE LIVES OF SEVERAL THOUSAND, BUT WE WISH TO PLAY OUR TRUMP CARD………………..”IGNORANCE OF THE FACT”

TRY EXPLAINING TO THE FAMILIES AND FRIENDS OF A LOVED ONE WHO HAS DIED AS A RESULT OF INHUMAN SANCTIONS, THAT THE DWP ARE ANNOYED…………….

      OF COURSE YOU ARE ANNOYED!!!!

IT’S LIKE BEING PICKED OUT IN A LINE UP AS A MURDERER, YOU ARE BOUND TO BE ANNOYED………………

THE FINGER OF GUILT HAS IDENTIFIED YOUR DEPARTMENT AS TAKING LIVES.

CHANGING LEGISLATION WILL NOT TAKE AWAY THE INDELIBLE STAIN OF YOUR GUILT, NOR WILL IT STOP PEOPLE ASKING QUESTIONS.

THE CEMETERIES ARE FULL TO BURSTING WITH THE FALLOUT FROM THE BROWN ENVELOPE BRIGADE…………..

IF YOU ARE STARTING TO TWITCH, I AM MORE THAN HAPPY…………..

  6. Warm wishes from me to you all at the march. I hope it can go to other cities and towns too.
Wish I could be there but it’s impossible for me but I’ll be thinking of you on Saturday!

Why is it Mothers for Justice and not Parents for Justice or Families for Justice.

      • Another Fine Mess

Ment this reply 2 b 2 Scar, but never mind!.

      • afm – Maybe someone could start up a Parents for Justice or Families for Justice group and go on their own march – or maybe join with the Mothers for Justice marchers.
I am fully agreed with what they are saying. I doubt if marching and saying it will do any good though. Camoron and Co will just ignore them, just as Davey Boy/”Lord” Freud ignored the removal van parked outside his house by protestors, and probably laughed at the thought that those protesting had experienced or knew people who had experienced forced eviction for real.

        • Another Fine Mess

I think that’s the problem, too many small groups with very similar and sometimes identical aims. Anyone and everyone earning less than £8.00 x 37 hours should be ‘all in it together’.

  14. Notice how this of all Void articles has the least comments. It is ever so slightly annoying (from a male perspective) to realise your average dole-ite is only angry once male giro be with the possible demise. That revolution brudders and sista’s will be fought arm in arm, black and white, fairer/non-fairer. C’mon! Irie. Word. Oh yeah. Barbelith.

    • Scar it could be that many people who read and comment on this site don’t have the wherewithal to actually get to attend marches. Most of us are living within ridiculously small means and some of us can’t travel far due to mriad physical and mental health issues. Maybe people don’t want to comment on something they can’t attend?

When people are living under the stress of their Social Security claims, constantly battling the JC+ and the DWP, not forgetting the LAs, it’s very easy to become solely concerned with one’s own fears about losing every penny you live on and the threat of destitution.

It’s personal to every single one of us and that is probably why we find it harder to have 100% solidarity with others. The media at the behest of the government has created a climate of fear for every person claiming benefits that they are entitled to. It’s natural for fear to make us withdraw to ourselves I think.

If we can’t get to the demonstrations and marches, we can still cheer from the side lines via the net

      • Or it could be that living on £71 pw is enough of an obstacle unless you live close to London. It’s not necessarily a disability issue. Able-bodied people use this site, too, believe it or not…

        • Yes Tim, I do know that able bodied and able minded people use this site and I think you’ll find that I mentioned the money aspect in the first paragraph.

          • Well sort of. “Means” is a little ambiguous (it could refer to some logistical, rather than financial, problem with attending). “Money”, however, isn’t and might have been a better word. That’s all.

            • Tim…

“Most of us are living within ridiculously small means”
“means” is a word which when used in the context I used it refers to money primarily and I would guess that people who aren’t nit picking pedants who can read, understood that.

  15. totallygivenup

scar i thinks its because we are battered by this governments evil policies ATOS workfare sanctions, theyre all tied together maybe as a single man for example its hard to comment on a mothers problems but we sympathise ans read and take it in,we know all too well the benefit cap is evil and will effect all in the end

  16. It’s a shame London’s women for justice organizations did not liase with other such organizations throughout the country to consolidate solidarity marches in other towns and cities at the same time. I know Gingerbread, the lone parent groups are nationwide.
Good luck anyway I hope it has some impact, because the Thatcher government tried to use women to break strikes up North and at times managed to succeed with some, much to their shame.
I do agree that men and women should stand and fight together though as one commenter said.

“239 POOR SOULS LOST IN AN AIRCRAFT DISASTER THAT HAS FEATURED ON EVERY MEDIA PLATFORM ACROSS THE GLOBE”

……………and yet the murderers at the DWP and ATOS, who have jointly, caused the deaths of countless thousands, go virtually unnoticed as they withhold the mortality statistics of their sick, twisted assault on the most vulnerable………

  17. Off topic..

My lame WPP is holding an employer’s open day next week and I have to drag myself there under their nannying WPP rules. I hope that they really don’t cock this up for me like they did with insisting that I have their version of my CV or them attempting to intrude into my private e-mail addresses, or heaven forbid trying to bung me into zero-hour contracts on four failed occasions..

If this employer’s day doesn’t go how I want it to, and not yet another WPP cock-up designed to trip me up on purpose, I shall be making endless complaints about their piss-poor service claimed to have helped me.

    • Another Fine Mess

I wouldn’t worry about which version of your CV you take, because I doubt there’ll be any employers there, just various organisations trying to sign you up for yet more ‘training’. You might even find it’s only for school leavers or something. The incompetence of WPPs is unlimited!

      • That never even crossed my mind, that this ’employer open day’ might actually be just a front to get me to sign up for yet more ‘training’ or ‘extra support’ after my time is up on the mis-work programme. As for any real employer turning up on the day, I very much doubt it now as I have not even been told in advance which local employer will be attending or not.

I treat everything thrown at me from the WPP or JCP with deep suspicion now as all they have done is force lies and deceit on me. I just don’t trust those scam artists no longer.

  18. OT.

    • If a man who works on a construction site travels out of town for 5nights, they may get travelling allowances, but they have to pay for their own digs out of their wages as well as their mortgages back home, the same should apply to Westminster. George Osborne had his home paid for by the tax payer while in the shadow government, then after selling for 1million pounds , he moved onto a more expensive home he could have the tax payer pay for.

      • overburdenddonkey

        g fawkes
yes, mp’s and their like, should have their feet firmly planted on the ground, and be a part of the culture that they “govern”…currently, they clearly are not….they set themselves apart from the masses, and this is the crux of the whole problem…they think that they are special..they have to be connected to the day to day lives of the masses, i reiterate, they are not ..poverty cannot be solved unless they are part of the solution…the claim that they lead “normal” lives, and that their lifestyle’s is the norm to aspire to, in an attempt to give their lavish lifestyles credibility…that we can all live as they do, which is clearly not possible..

    • Annos, I read that article a good while back on Inside Housing. Made me sick to the stomach. Dirty filthy cheating lying Bastards the lot of them.
OT, has anyone who is due the bedroom tax rebate heard from their local council?

      • Yes Bernadette I got the rebate, but since they have now closed the loophole I have put it towards paying future bedroom tax for the next few months.

    • “Atos benefits assessment led to woman’s suicide says watchdog”

      http://refuted.org.uk/2014/03/26/death/

      • That poor woman. The DWP should be raized to the ground for their wilful ignorance of the rules for Immigration from IB to ESA where it is clearly stated that the onus for proof of incapacity/limited capability lies firmly with the DWP. The DWP are supposed to provide proof that the person does not have limited capability for work.

The DWP moron who having looked at her old first IB form with “depression” written on it, who decided (without medical/psychiatric training) that Ms DE wouldn’t get ESA based on that diagnosis, and therefore didn’t bother to contact either of Ms DE’s consutlant or GP should be put in the stocks and pelted with ordure by the public for all eternity.

        Fucking shameful.

        RIP Ms DE

    • Wonderful words Geoff. Yes i remember well the constant stream of threats and harassment coming through my front door in the form of the dreaded brownies. Guaranteed to ruin your mental health and leave you feeling thoroughly miserable.

  21. Smith kills again http://www.theguardian.com/society/2014/mar/26/woman-killed-herself-benefits-mental-health-watchdog The DWP’s director of communications is Richard Caseby, ex-editor of The Sun.

    • Evil bastards have more blood on their hands just as surely as if they had butchered the person personally. Their hands are soaked in it and the best the Nazi DWP can come up with is that all the proper procedures were followed.

UNCARING NAZI BASTARDS!!! I HOPE THAT YOU WILL ALL BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR YOUR SINS AND THE MISERY YOU HAVE BROUGHT ON ORDINARY DECENT PEOPLE.

      • Quote from the BBC story on this woman’s suicide:

“A total of 75% said they had not been asked by the DWP or Atos to take part in benefit assessments, although the majority said their patients had asked them to provide medical evidence.”

So the claims by ATOS and the DWP that the person’s GP or psychiatrist are always asked to provide data and reports is a blatant LIE. They are judging people with mental health problems from behind a friggin’ desk and they don’t even consult the doctor that’s been treating the person for their illness before making life wrecking/ending decisions..

        ATOS and DWP suck.

        • Even when medical opinion is offered to them, they disregard it.

(Letter from a GP): “Person [x] is unfit for work. They are unlikely to be fit for work at any time in the foreseeable future”. signed A.GP.

This was the text of the whole letter (2 lines) offered by a GP when their patient went to ask for a letter to take to their WCA assessment. The GP had known their patient for most of the time they have been living with their predominant ill health condition (around 20 years) but clearly the GP only knew, or seemed to know, as little as the patient did back then (2 years ago) about the workings of ATOS.

The letter was clearly far too short, with hindsight. It didn’t contain any medical details/’evidence’ about the patient. The ill-health alluded to is primarily but not soleley mental ill health (longstanding and severe at onset/well-controlled with medication/self-managed by avoiding ‘trigger’ situations, several of which would come into play very soon if forced into paid employment – very likely/almost inevitably leading to a full-blown episode of severe ill health – putting person x at risk of coming to serious harm).

Their GP didn’t say any of this – first time out. He might have thought he didn’t have to justify his position and that anyway, such a short, pithy but categorical statement that the patient’s health wasn’t such (in his opinion) that they could reasonably/safely be made to look for work/made to experience undue pressure/stress/financial uncertainty was clear and unarguable with. Of course, we all now do know different and it wasn’t enough at all, with person x being summarily placed in the WRAG group & only placed in the support group (time limited) on appeal. The assessment/appeal process itself could have led to serious consequences, which fortunately were avoided, but might equally not have been – and the next time – trying to appeal on zero income as others are currently having to (somehow) cope with doing?

In an effort to illustrate the levels of complicity, collusion and corruption within our government departments, you have to look no further than the frenzied cull of the disabled in the UK today……………

This mornings news announced that a man, a single entity, had been arrested in Salford Manchester, on the suspicion of causing deaths and falsifying documents at Stepping Hill Hospital.

One person has warranted an investigation into 3 deaths, yet DWP and the assassins they chose to do their dirty work, ATOS,walk away unscathed…………….

Between them they have overseen the murders of countless, thousands of innocent people they perceived as a burden on the states purse.
Not just any person at random, just the weakest, those most unlikely to fight back.
Those who already had the burden of having a physical or mental ailment, namely the disabled.

The state has all the evidence it needs to bring these natural born killers to justice, but so vast is the iron cordon of complicity, they seek to protect each other at every turn………………

It has been recently reported that police have been actively shredding evidence that implicates them in years of corruption within the force. How becoming of them to seek to hide the evidence midway into an investigation.

Ask yourselves, what is the difference between shredding evidence and withholding mortality statistics on those that have died due to welfare reforms?

Suppression of evidence is a crime whichever way you look at it!

We don’t need evidence to put ATOS, the COURTS SERVICE and the instigators, the DWP, in the dock.
The evidence is listed amongst the coroners reports of those that succumbed to suicide or died within a short time frame of being found fit for work by unqualified charlatans masquerading as fully qualified health care professionals….

Health Care Professional is an oxymoron in itself, they neither care or are professional and are not interested in your health, one iota…………………

So the DWP are bent, as are the Police, the Courts and our MP’s and heads of government departments………

You are governed by the most corrupt people in the world who have no thoughts for the people they are supposed to represent, secondary to the needs of the corporate multinationals who freely bestow them with gifts and promises, hidden from prying eyes.

………….A HUGE SEPTIC TANK THAT FEEDS FROM WESTMINSTER DOWNWARDS…….

Who will be the new villain, killing the disabled as it feeds it’s greed from the souls of the departed?

Money has no bounds when it comes to compassion, greed tramples everything in it’s path, a blind, one eyed carnivore that takes from the many to the pockets of the few………………

THE KILLING WILL CONTINUE, ALBEIT IN A DIFFERENT NAME AND A DIFFERENT UNIFORM………….
