Government Advisor Plots Two Tier NHS Waiting Lists For People In Work

billboard-poster-david-cameronA shocking proposal from a so-called expert at the Department of Health has suggested that people in work should be given priority for treatment in the NHS.

In a move which could hit pensioners, disabled people, lone parents and unemployed people, government advisor Dame Carol Black has said: “I personally think we should perhaps be more honest and debate more fully if we would prioritise such patients if it was a question of getting them back to work.”

In other words if you are currently without a job, for any reason, then forget about accessing healthcare as you are pushed down to the bottom of NHS waiting lists.  Black’s comments even seem to suggest that the sicker you are, and the less likely to be able to go back to work, then the longer you might have to wait for NHS treatment.

Dame Carol Black made the comments – which were first reported on the Work, Savings and Benefits website – at the recent Health and Wellbeing 2014 conference.  She was joined at the conference by DWP chief medical adviser Dr Bill Gunnyeon who according to the website agreed that there is: “an issue about what priority we give to health related interventions for people of working age”.

Whilst these suggestions are a long way from becoming Government policy – yet – they offer a chilling vision of current thinking behind the scenes about the future of the NHS.  There is to be no humanity or compassion under neo-liberalism.  Stop making money for the bosses and fall out of the workplace and you might as well be dead as far as these scum are concerned.

  1. Jesus Christ! Black was once my rheumatologist. I’m appalled anyway but to think she is the one to have made the suggestion makes me sick, sick, sick.

    • If you’ve still got some way of contacting her, as a former patient, you could write to her and tell her what an abomination her thoughts are to all normal decent people. She also thinks health insurance should be made more available to the low paid and that employers should get tax breaks for providing such insurance.

She is on the board of trustees of The Nuffield Trust.

  2. These people make me want to be sick.

    • overburdenddonkey

we’ll only fix up the drones, if they pay us back….occupation health, the new “medicine”….they dump one in a greasy barrel, “now get out of that”…

  3. gfranklinpercival

Black needs to be put out of our misery, very quickly. We need to see her medical records now, Unfortunately I cannot find them with a search engine yet. She is, however, too old not to have suffered cognitive impairment. Within a very short while she’ll be ninety, for fuck’s sake.

  4. Attacking the poorest yet again.

  5. The sickest and people in most urgent need should be treated first. How come I get prioritised for NHS treatment today when I’m working and drop down the waiting list tomorrow after being made redundant. Let’s see ANYBODY – Conservative, Labour, or Liberal Democrat – try to sneak this one past GPs and consultants. It does show the mind set though doesn’t it? Them and us. The deserving and those who can be dispensed with. Sickening.

  6. a police officer

Coppers already get priority treatment on the NHS as well as free private healthcare.

    • I don’t get these ideologies
      1 starvation creates jobs
      2 severe illness creates jobs

      Fuck who needs qualifications

All you got to do to get on in this world is starve yourself to near death to make yourself sick
And bingo there you are with a job

      Amazing eh ?

  7. Black likened patients on welfare benefits to a plague of cholera as part of a slide presentation show she gave to her fellow welfare-medical mandarin neoliberal goons at Glasgow University, September 2011. See her slide 6 “turn off the tap” here –

      What a cow.
Is her real name Leni Riefenstahl and did she drop through a hole in the fabric of time? (Hitler’s propaganda film-maker)
Or was she another nazi in a past life and made short propaganda films (titles paraphrased) like: ‘The Eternal Jew’, ‘The Wandering Jew’, ‘The Useless Eaters’ (kill the disabled/poor and unemployed, mentally ill or learning-disabled, or homeless, this film argued), ‘The Jews Are Vermin’ (film that showed rats swarming everywhere and said they represent the Jews); ‘The Jewish Blood Libel/Guilt’/’Protocol of the elders of Zion (NSDAP version)’; ‘The master race’ (series of fake ‘anthropology’ films, actually about eugenics; calls all non-Germans subhumans).

      She probably regrets that she was not one of Hitler’s top Aryan maidens and part-time girlfriends, so she could have been given the opportunity to piss all over him (that’s what he wanted them to do). Bitch.;

If she breaks her hip tomorrow then she as a Dame (and an injured one) will not be working. So all hospitals, in support of her proposals, should ban her from every treatment as of today. She ought to support that, and even being made to go and live in a bin, because she wants us to be self-reliant. Cure for her broken hip: rub herself with used sanitary towels and nappies from the bin. New NHS ‘care’!
Sorry but: The stupid, stupid bitch.

  8. Reblogged this on Beastrabban’s Weblog and commented:
This really does show you the government’s intention to destroy the NHS. Its founding principle under Nye Bevan was free health care for everyone. Yet the Tories are doing the very best they can to destroy this fundamental principle. Way back in the early 1990s, the Financial Times stated that John Major’s creation of ‘internal markets’ in the NHS was leading to a two-tier service. The Sunday Express loudly supported Thatcher’s proposal that those with private medical insurance to be allowed to opt out of NHS contributions. They also declared that the wealthy should get preferential treatment in the NHS because they paid more tax. Now it seems this attitude has returned with the recommendations of Dame Carol Black and Bill Gunyeon stating that those in work should get preferential treatment, while the unemployed, the disabled and the retired presumably get left behind. In the case of the unemployed, it’s part of the pressure to get them back into work. For the rest, it’s possible a scare tactic to get them to take out private health insurance.

    • Yeah and when they take out private health insurance the system colludes with each other on how to shaft the person by finding a get out clause so as they don’t have to pay out. Thereby they get to keep all the money.

That’s what Lucy Reynolds said in that video that was put up a couple of posts ago; The selling off of your health data to private companies is going to be done so as they can scour your details to find any hint of a cause of the illness you’re suffering from that, in their eyes, you may have contributed to getting the disease/illness or whatever it is.

Purely another money making scam is just around the corner. Scare people into taking out private healthcare and then when they claim try to wriggle out of their part of the deal.

How these scum can sleep at night is beyond me.

  9. There are plenty more medical mandarins with professional credentials as impeccable as Black’s who have been working for years to undermine the human rights of British patients and disabled people. Knighthoods are regularly dished out to them for their services to neoliberal disability denial ideology and practice.

Not for nothing have the British professional medical and regulatory bodies, such as the GMC, NMC (Nursing & Midwifery Council) and CQC, done absolutely nothing to bring to a halt the unethical and unscientific iatrogenic quackology of the DWP’s ESA regime and done nothing to protect patients from the regime’s dangerous nurses and doctors.

The British medical profession and scientific community seem more concerned about the likes of homoeopathy, which harms and kills nobody, than acting on the vast evidence of deaths and harms undoubtedly caused by the quack science behind the DWP pseudo-medical rehabilitation cures (‘work is good for health’), pioneered by the likes of the former president of the Royal College of Physicians..

  10. Reblogged this on Vox Political and commented:
Is anybody surprised at all? No? Thought not.
These ideas and the attitudes that inform them still have to be fought, though.

  11. Dame Carol Black – she was one of the advisers back along for the welfare reform changes and that’s come to fruition. Truly chilling.

  12. Dame Carol Black was first employed in her job to exploit the cracks between the NHS and DWP by the last Labour Government. She is as much a creature of neoliberal Labour as she is Tory. It was her pseudo-research which provided the basis for the Labour Government to introduce the ludicrously and grotesquely named “Fit Note” in April 2010.

  13. Hopefully, she’ll get up in the morning and will have forgotten who she is 🙂 I know it would be quick but if she lives another few years then she’ll continue her cruel suggestions! What an old, vindictive bitch she is – is she IDS mother?!?!
Doctors wouldn’t let this happen – they would be breaking their first oath of “Do no harm” – they didn’t take this oath for an unelected coalition to step in and tell them that that oath is now being changed by them – the doctors would tell them where to go and mean it!
I’m away to my bed and will hope that Black has dementia in the next few days!

Commenting, Professor Michael O’Donnell, Chief Medical Officer at Unum said:

“Dame Carol Black’s ‘fit note’ will be a major step forward in addressing attitudes towards sickness and the sooner we can introduce it, the better. Changing the mindset and therefore attitudes is the critical first step in bringing about a real and effective change in approach by all parties.

  17. Well in the 30’s the Germans started off by getting rid of the same type of people who will be forced down the waiting lists, because they did not add to the benefit of the nation. Closing hospitals sanctions for people on benefits removal of benefits it’s all a case of ridding society of the non workers isn’t it.

  18. Same Carol Black is on the usual suspects list Johnny. She is on the ATOS payroll mate
ATOS hosted a champagne and caviar do in london a while back and she was there crapping on how well Atos had been doing
    She helps them get contracts

Disability Denier Company now wants to deny you health care..

    • Carol Black Gunyon Litchfield Aylward

All Atos Unum front ppl all on the fucking take..

      • In the new NHS it will be run with private companies in front making a mint out of the public purse ok
The privates will cherry pick the easiest to treat and send a whacking great bill to govt.
In the deal competition has been given priority
Its who do you want to treat you
        A _:private company
B: NHS ( which is regarded as not a choice )

So an other either gets stuck onto a much reduced poorly paid reduced staff hospital closed ( don’t forget the mass closing of hospital bill which is happening )
Now add in jobless thrown to back of queue on depleted service and you have a second death toll in the making ..

Chief medical adviser warns that funding requests will be challenged

A tax break for companies that fund interventions to get absent employees back to work will be considered by the Government, but much work needs to be done to analyse its implications.

This was the message from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) to insurers, healthcare professionals and employer representatives at the Association of British Insurers this morning.

“Any conference I have been to, it [removing tax disincentives to fund healthcare] is one of the things that employers have consistently raised and I understand that,” said Dr Bill Gunnyeon, chief medical adviser at the DWP. “But I’m not making any promises.”

Commenting on the development of the guidance, Dr Bill Gunnyeon, Chief Medical Adviser at DWP said:

“From the outset, the development of the fit note has been a collaborative effort. It demonstrates what can be achieved when Government, healthcare professionals, employers and other key stakeholders work closely together towards a common goal. We need to continue this good work once the fit note is in place to ensure it delivers the benefits it should for individuals, employers and GPs.”

The new guidance has been created by the Department for Work and Pensions with the Royal College of General Practitioners, British Medical Association, CBI, Acas, Federation of Small Businesses, Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, Association of British Insurers, British Retail Consortium and EEF, the manufacturers’ organisation. The fit note reflects medical evidence that work is generally good for health and well-being and can aid recovery for many health conditions.

Making simple, practical adjustments to help people back to work at an earlier stage will benefit both the employer and the employee. This will prevent long-term sickness absences and will also ensure employers do not lose the expertise of their staff.

Dame Carol Black, National Director for Health and Work said:

“Work plays a significant role in determining a person’s health. The fit note is a hugely important development which means that GPs will be encouraged to think about their patient’s ability to work and provide more helpful information to patients to discuss with their employer. This is why the fit note is a win-win for both employees and employers.”

    • @GEOFF Litchfield was doing articles in press About ” sicknote culture ” and how GPs were under pressure to write out sick notes. Those articles appeared in the fucking daily hate and torygraph

But, as Dr Bill Gunnyeon, former president of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine, pointed out in May, occupational medicine will need to broaden its horizons to address not only the health needs of people at work, but those of the working age population as a whole. Anything that helps people who have been ill to get back into work would be broadly welcomed by OH professionals, argues Dr Barbara Kneale, occupational health and safety advisor at car manufacturer Peugeot Citron in Coventry.

    London 2012.
The 6th International Forum on Disability Management was chaired by two of the worlds leaders on the “good work is good for you” movement,Professors Dame Carol Black and Sir Mansel Aylward. The UK movement is going gang busters. Dr Bill Gunnyeon, Chief Medical Adviser and Director for Health and Wellbeing at the DWP,described how their surveys of GPs attitudes has shown a remarkable turnaround, with most GPs now agreeing work is beneficial for health, and around two thirds agreeing that GPs have a role in getting people back to work.

    Bill Gunnyeon said:

“I am delighted to be joining the Department and very much looking forward to the challenges and opportunities which lie ahead. I will be seeking to build on the outstanding work of Professor Aylward, who has made such a valuable contribution to the Department’s achievements and whom I feel privileged to be succeeding.”

    • @GEOFF that same Mansel Aylward who contributed to the document ” disability deception” along with that fruitcake who ran a hypnotist outfit
And Aylwards books on the power of ” belief ” in order to get well or find work

      • something survived...

But they are still forcing people to hypnosis and CBT. Change how you think about illness, disability, work, the government. HELLO?! We don’t want to change how we think, we are the sane rational realists. We don’t want you replacing our brains and bodies with fake, ‘happy’, compliant and silent drones! Your mandated ‘therapy’ is shit, against medical ethics as it aims to turn psychologically healthy individuals into psychologically unhealthy ones (as well as damaging physical health).
‘You WILL love Big Brother!’ Fuck off – no!!!!!!

When shit things happen normal people should feel bad, so feeling good about being treated shittily is a mental problem. You can’t make people love shit jobs!

        • And you need a job anyway to feel shit about it.

I am truly staggered (although I shouldn’t be) about the CBT stuff. Fucking frightening indeed. Mr Orwell was not so far away was he?

My wife duly pointed out that if these proposals see the light of day it will also hit women who stay at home because they they don’t want to work as they consider bringing up children as more important. The implications are truly horrendous.

Although I’d like to think the GPs wouldn’t allow it my own GP surgery was bitterly against the NHS reforms (“I want to be a doctor not an administrator” as my own GP told me) they couldn’t do anything about it except protest and we know how far that got us.

          • @dicki and something survived and unum are up to their necks in CBT as i posted here
Just now along with a host of other pseudo sciences one of the twats who produced the
Disability deception document was a hypnotist and alward another unum payroller with his fucking ” belief ” books

            • What the fuck are they doing in the NHS for gods sake with their quackery ?

              This stinks…

            • @Bob, I really am depressed now. Thanks… 😉

              Fuel for another song though.

The Tories, the gift that keeps on giving (like herpes)

              • @dicki i don’t get depressed I get angry which fires me into delving away at all this to report back to you guys .in same way as GEOFF does despite his poor health and how he has been treated sharpens the mind at times ….well sort of..forewarned is fore armed and all that jazz

                • I’m afraid that my anger goes hand in hand with my depression that 6 months of CBT did nothing to change. I channel mine through music which even if few folks ever hear the songs it makes me feel better (at least for a while).

                  Thanks for what you do!

                • @dicki its not easy when you have people next door who can’t sing or play guitar but think they can and are VERY LOUD and drive you mad
                  Every day

                  NO PEACE.

        • And the last line of that is the fucking TRUTH! The gov want us all wrapping sarnies in cling film like maniacs on min wage to live in poverty after handing our wages to the taxman and landlord until early untreated death. Meanwhile they get a hundred quid a week for lunch and free Bupa.

  31. Landless Peasant

Have they really thought this through? The longer it takes to receive treatment, the longer it takes to recover, the longer I stay away from working.

    • You mean all our private medical details have been sent to private healthcare companies? This is what Lucy Reynolds was on about in the video. I thought this had been stopped?

This whole debacle stinks and someone is getting their bank account well feathered with all this crookery.

      • overburdenddonkey

no, i’m afraid not….but as she said it’s all about making more money, not an ideology at all, but profits…all they see is money, nothing else….

      • If you have opted out of this with your GP, Raining, then the GP cannot allow your records to be uploaded. Any records you have held by any hospital or other health care provider will be uploaded automatically. The is no way to opt out of this part.

The other anomaly is that if you opt out after the cut off date (no idea when that will be since this scheme has been put back by six months) then your records that have already been uploaded (from the GP) will only be marked as unsearchable. The records won’t be removed or deleted

ATOS have the contract for GP data extraction. Given ATOS’ record of poor data security, I fully expect we will all see our records published in full in every newspaper, by the end of this year.

        • How does this affect people in Scotland Lucy? I haven’t heard much about this apart from what i’ve read on blogs.

          • And I still have received nothing about opting out despite the government supposedly sending us all information…

Do I just contact my surgery and say NO?

          • I’ve been wondering the Scottish side of things too. Far as I know, so far this is only for England and Wales, as NHS Scotland is run independently, but as welfare, etc is “Reserved” as they call it to Westminster, we have all the other stuff, Bedroom Tax, ATOS, benefit sanctions, DWP, the lot.. So I wouldn’t be the bit surprised if somehow, they got round to selling off our med files too. However, the insures want the info, is for those in England and Wale. Would be hard to see how they could get info on ppl in Scotland. Who are not on that system.
It is not Scot Gov policy as far as I know to allow it. It would cause absolute uproar in Edinburgh if somehow, the insurers got hold of sensitive patient information here. Maybe someone else has more on this, and I could be proved wrong, but that is how I understand the situation presently.

As with many of my posts here, I again ask the question, “Where is Labour?” Rather silent ain’t they?

            • Labour? who they? You know there are still some poor deluded souls that think if Labour win the next election things will be much better!!

              They better wake up.

          • You definitely need to contact your GP surgery and ask for the form to opt out. If you sign this form and hand it back to them, they are obliged to acknowledge this in writing.

I’m sorry, I don’t know about specifics for Scotland and this scheme, I was under the impression that apart from the free prescription thingy, the rules for GPs are the same, but I could well be wrong there.

The gov’t did send out some really vague leaflets over a few weeks to every household (yeah right) These leaflets were unhelpfully bundled in with the junk mail that RM is paid to distribute. All mine goes straight to recycling, so I never saw the leaflet, but the GP did have a small poster in the waiting room.

    Dear Ms Ong

Thank you for your Freedom of Information request received on 31st July 2013. You asked:

Are any staff of the DWP, at any level, entitled to private health access as part of their contract?
If so, please elaborate and give the annual cost?

    In response to your question:

No Department for Work and Pensions staff, at any level, are entitled to private health access as part of their contract, therefore no cost is incurred.

If you have any queries about this letter please contact me quoting the reference number above.

      (a) on 14 February 2011, UNUM Provident officials met with officials involved in the independent review of sickness absence in Great Britain to discuss a research paper. In February 2011, the Government commissioned the independent review to explore the current sickness absence system, and examine whether the costs associated with sickness absence are appropriately shared between the state, individuals and employers. The independent review is being jointly led by Dame Carol Black and David Frost CBE; andon 18 October 2010, a representative from UNUM Provident, who was part of a delegation from the UK Rehabilitation Council, met with the Minister for Welfare Reform and department officials.

The Minister for Welfare Reform has also attended a round table on 5 October 2010 at the Conservative Party Conference which was jointly hosted by Demos and UNUM.

    (b) two working groups were set up in 2006 to review the personal capability assessment for incapacity benefit. One of these groups reviewed the physical descriptors within the assessment, and of the seven meetings for which we have a record there were four meetings which the UNUM Provident representative definitely did not attend; the other looked at the descriptors which assessed mental function, and of the five meetings for which we have a record, the UNUM Provident representative was not recorded as being absent from any of them; and Jack McGarry, CEO of UNUM UK, was nominated to sit on the independent review of sickness absence in Great Britain expert panel by the insurance industry body.(c) As part of the evidence-gathering process for the independent review of sickness absence in Great Britain, department officials, as well as the independent reviewers, have met with or had contact with a number of insurers in the course of this work-the Association of British Insurers, Aviva, BUPA, Genworth Financial, Legal and General, SwissRe, and GRiD-Group Risk Development.

  44. I just signed on and the woman who signed me said she was searching for my email last night (wtf) and couldn’t find it in jobshite site to send me jobs. I told her that I had never ticked the box allowing access. This conversation went on a few minutes with her twice saying you are alright with that. I said yes I am alright with not giving access as I check all jobs anyway and the European Human rights things stops me needing to do so. The bastards are turning the screw be vigilant people.

  45. Dear God, I’m losing the will to live. Then again as I’m retired now that’s OK as I probably won’t get any treatment anyway.

Just when you think those bastards can’t get any lower.

Here’s a song to cheer you up :

  46. Carol M. Black
Dame Carol Mary Black DBE FRCP is Principal of Newnham College Cambridge, Adviser on Work and Health at the Department of Health, England, Chair of the Nuffield Trust, and Chair of the Governance Board, Centre for Workforce Intelligence. Wikipedia

think we all know what to do with this 😀

  48. have just verified dame carol black is still principal
    so email above is valid

  49. I had my eyes well and truly opened to the extent of amorality and greed amongst sections of the medical fraternity years ago when two of my GPs were stuck off for fraud. One was claiming Incapacity Benefit (for “stress”, he claimed) while moonlighting as a police surgeon. Incredibly, the boys in blue failed to press charges due to “lack of evidence” – this despite the fact he was apprehended on their premises! He then (unsuccessfully) tried to pin the blame on his totally innocent secretary.

The second GP was addicted to prescription drugs and was busy falsifying patients’ records in order to write out prescriptions in their name to obtain his daily fix of dope.

Dame Carol Black is just another depressing example of an unethical medic for whom the Hippocratic Oath is something to be cast aside if it gets in the way of making a fast buck.

  50. The thing is that the doctor/NHS don’t have to explicitly say that you are being denied treatment because you are sick/ill/disabled/unemployed/unproductive/of no use to society they can just fob you off until you die off. And why do doctors always ask for your occupation? Oh, it so they can determine if your complaint is stress related.

And another thing I have noticed well, amongst friends and family anyway is the increasing amount of people turning to the private sector for treatment because as they say they just don’t trust the NHS/doctors. They are also paying for medicines/treatment to. And it’s not just older people too, this is people in their 20s/30s.

    • overburdenddonkey

see dr lucy reynolds/jill mountford vid on youtube “health and social care bill” is long but explains it all, it is a fabulous analysis from an expert…

  51. Of course, those with mental health conditions won’t notice any change at all in how timely their treatment is. They will be fully used to being at the bottom of the pile of priority.

    • @Lucy they already ARE …and are being used by private companies like one support
Who are part of one housing group
Ie a housing association to create more business for themselves to bolster bonuses
      For ceos

Already they have cut staff where I am and one support run this place

Look them up why don’t you?

      Very dodgy outfit indeed

    • overburdenddonkey

yes. as we have already discussed the standard of mental health treatments/care is so appalling and theoretical in the uk, not to have treatment by it is a lucky escape, as it often makes things much worse…see work of johnson, miller, rowe, moncrieff, whitaker, and james et al..

      • obd, “a lucky escape” I think that nails it.

No one in charge of any CCG is going to listen to anyone but the morally repugnant, overly lunched, unethical chewer of fat cigars – Simon Wessely. He was the major force behind CBT being rolled out in its cheapest most offensive and destructive form to everyone who has any kind of mental health condition.

Those in need of help really are stuck between a rock and a hard place and once you know just how much damage inappropriate therapies administered by poorly trained/unsupervised do-gooders can cause, it’s a very frightening place to be.

As a small illustration of how crappy the organisation of CCGs already is – The Clinical Lead for Mental Health on my CCG is a part time GP who has no qualifications in mental health and has done one, very short course in occupational health.

Those in power won’t need to do much to shift those unable to work down to the bottom of the list to wait for treatment. Those in need are already there. They’ve been there for years.

        • overburdenddonkey

in a book “beyond fear” by dorathy rowe…”clinicians” even boast about how good at mind numbing cbt is, and that it is more affective in doing that, than a course of pharms…yeah the keep your mind occupied with work crap..formembering, forget it and remember you have forgotten it, don’t forget now….stop overthinking, self control and anger management, forget the past and move on…anger with the therapist is an implied sign (i use the word symptom), that the victim has gotten it wrong, a bit thick, can’t understand/comprehend, and not trying hard enough…never that cbt is bollocks, ie ok not ok…constant blame the victim…

          • obd, I like Dorothy Rowe, I’ve read one of her pleas for the psych industry to offer something less offensive than cbt to the masses, and she is one very convincing, truly humane individual. A rare thing in these times.

So much of our 21st century in the UK has been about dumbing down every aspect of our lives. It started in the 80s with Prozac and it’s escalated to blanket cbt coverage for pretty much anything we do or get involved with irrespective of our needs or health. I see it being used in so many places where it shouldn’t be and I see it causing severe harm.

As a gift that keeps on giving, I see the dumbing down cause extra harm, not dissimilar to the claimant hatred from the gov’t and media. It causes normally reasonable people to believe that any MH issue can be dealt with simply by forgetting it or remembering it in a “positive” way. For those compelled or coerced into it, positive thinking is as much a plague of misery as was the bubonic plague.

Adam Curtis has made some very good documentaries about how the dumbing down of nations helps keep the mega rich going and shapes society to their greater benefit. He’s worth seeking out. Most of his work is on Youtube now. He stopped making documentaries for television two or three years ago. He used to make short segment filling documentaries for Charlie Brooker’s Screen Wipe.

            Look out for:

            The Century of the Self
All Watched Over By Machines of Loving Grace

I’d post the links but my posts disappear into the ether if I put links in.
            Happy viewing obd 🙂

    • Agreed. The phrase “all in it together” was undoubtedly coined for these bottom feeders.

When a society disintegrates into punishing the people in that society who have the least, the sick/disabled, mentally ill, unemployed., that’s a society that is heading for the dustbin.

  55. Name and Shame Atos HCPs

this blog is attempting to publish a comprehensive list (see alphabetical list below to search for your HCP) of HCPs (Health Care Practitioners) that work Atos, Capita, and any future companies the government gives a contract to, in relation to ESA (Employment and Support Allowance) WCAs (Work Capability Assessment) and PIP (Personal Independence Payment) assessments. being done because these HCPs are finding people fit for work when they clearly are not, and producing WCA reports that are often not fit for purpose, contain lies, omit details, or are just plain bad. These ‘medical professionals’ are ruining the lives of extremely vulnerable people
with impunity – and this must stop

    • @PAT Atos were claiming that they recruited HCP from UDC university of derby corporate which from what I see is to do with business training systems design

Reblogged this on Revolting Pleb and commented:
At the moment, this is only a proposal but the fact that a two tier health service with priority given to those in work is even being discussed should be a cause of alarm for any right thinking person. Because what it does is to put a value on a person’s life based on what they can contribute to the bottom line through their work. This is the start of the slippery slope…

  57. “Our whole plutonomy thesis is based on the idea that the rich will keep getting richer. This thesis is not without its risks. For example, a policy error leading to asset deflation, would likely damage plutonomy. Furthermore, the rising wealth gap between the rich and poor will probably at some point lead to a political backlash.Whilst the rich are getting a greater share of the wealth, and the poor a lesser share, political enfrachisement remains as was – one person, one vote (in the plutonomies). At some point it is likely that labor will fight back against the rising profit share of the rich and there will be a political backlash against the rising wealth of the rich. This could be felt through higher taxation (on the rich or indirectly though higher corporate taxes/regulation) or through trying to protect indigenous laborers, in a push-back on globalization – either anti-immigration, or protectionism. We don’t see this happening yet, though there are signs of rising political tensions. However we are keeping a close eye on developments.”

Fuck, either healthcare for blondes because they are the master race, or none because they are ‘thick’. How about no healthcare for all people over 60 or under 18, as they are not in the ‘working age’ group. No healthcare for pregnant women, and while giving birth they cannot be said to be working, so therefore must be SCROUNGING. No healthcare for anyone lefthanded, gay, or with green eyes or red hair, or anyone with a piercing or tattoo. No healthcare if you are taller than 6’0″ or shorter than 5’0″.
No healthcare if any part of you is missing, deformed or disabled. If you are none of the above, then no healthcare as you don’t NEED healthcare. Fuck off and die in a ditch.

Carol ‘Fraulein Bunt’ Black: “We may be prepared to relax some of the above regulations for pregnant women if they spend every second of their labour jobseeking and applying for jobs, and then dash the head of their baby on a stone the second it’s born. To show willing. This will all be filmed for permanent internet publication under our new ‘Vag-Cam’ website, with the name and address of ‘the public-service vagina unit’ – formerly known as ‘the female unemployment unit’- on the screen and ‘SCROUNGER’ captioned large in red. The ex-Scroungers, formerly referred to by traitorous communists as ‘infants killed by the state at birth’, will be incorporated into the roads we will force vast populations of Slavery Units to build. I’ve been saving my JSA for ages to try and get enough ££s to apply to a licence to drive a cab………………………. just as I have scraped enough money together the FUCKING Jobcentre tell me that I have been SANCTIONED for 13 FUCKING WEEKS for ‘not actively seeking work’. Now the money I have scrimped and saved will have to go on food and leccy instead. What the FUCK are the Jobcentre playing at?? I am FUCKING FUMING!!!!!

    • the jokecentre pull these sort of stunts all the time. jobseekers have even been sanctioned for going to job interviews. maybe they are trying to make jobseekers unemployable or something. sanctions are definitely making jobssekers unemployable. the sooner the jobcentres are shut down and those scumbag advisers and evil Nazi ‘decision makers’ tossed out on their arses the better.

      • Agree with you. What good do JC’s actually do? As far as i can see they do no good at all, none. 61. If your wondering what kind of doctors they get for these kinds of policy idesas, then I could give example of one guy the medical center in Gorbals, Glasgow. (south side of the city center)
Anyhow w, was off sick with depression, etc. He refused to give a sick note. He asked, “but how can being depressed stop you from doing your work…You’re only a cleaner! …. I can understand someone who is a surgeon or an airline pilot not being able to work thru depression, but how does that stop you?”
I was not best pleased about this guy. I never had any more dealings with him So that is the kind of who might end up working for UNUM,
I did get a sick not from the senior doctor in the practice later though, who was a much better person.

    • Me being me…I went off and wrote this liite piece dripping with my usual degree of sarcastic wit….

I went to the doctor because I was ill.
He said he’d give me a sleeping pill.
I said I was stressed and very depressed.
      Perhaps I think, I needed a rest!

      “Ah, but my patient, dear.
      You cannot be as so.
To work, I ought think you should go.
You’ll be fine. You’ve nothing to fear.”

For you’re only just a cleaner,
      a porter, and a sweeper!
Such as you can never be stressed.
Only professionals like me need rest!

An airline pilot, or a surgeon.
Or people who give little folks instruction.
      Professionals. All highly paid.
Only these get ill, for whom my notes are made!

That’s actually what the doctor said.
Perhaps that ought be taught in school.
This is now the modern rule.
To never be a “common” worker, but a professional one instead!

Like not to wash pans and pots. Sweep leaves off roads,
Or serve businessmen their teas and their morning toasts.
But where would our rich diners be,
with no one to serve them and wash up, like me?

But we’re back now to Victorian days.
Where the lowly poor are considered trash
and only those with lots of cash
get any comforts in their sick days.

So the doctor thinks I’m fine.
Maybe I should go, find a bridge. Disappear. Life will be fine!
After all, peoples jump in all of the times.
Especially Professional folks ~ in Spanish pools in sunny climes!

    • That guy is a total arsehole! It’s reading things like that that make me want to grab these nitwits and shake them. Anyone saying that knows nothing about depression and how it feels and what it does to body and mind. When you’re depressed everything is a struggle and feels like you’re struggling with a gigantic load weighing you down.

      Guy was obviously a retard..

      • …Yeah….. I was off previously with real bad depression, and all the rest. But this guy was trying to be “helpful” in the wrong way I thought. Clearly he hadn’t a clue about anything. I was furious.
Those kinds of comments from a doctor really could make some poor suol end it. And some jerk of a doctor like him would hardly care tuppence.

It was also the idea that only rich ppl get real depression, or those with complicated jobs, etc. The rest of us mere little peasants can just go shove it. What we got to be depressed about? We don’t have money, or anything. I am amazed there still are these debates amongst university professors about whether or not poor ppl can get depression !
That seems to be the kind of types we are dealing with in this evil REGIME and their medical advisors. The fact these MPs are making lottsa pesos out of it ,is a big, big help as well.

It seems to be the case

              • If you get forwarded a job by an advisor on uj (never happened to me yet)
you can be pretty sure they will check you applied, and it is so rare it may well actually be a sting. They find a shit job no one will take and send you for it. . Grave digger say.
                Or crematorium operative. .

                • GORDON KEANE

…..A few points to made here.
Regards the fake jobs, Bobchewie asks if they are stings by DWP, I think most are just money making ruse for dubious ppls. DWP would not be involved. (…not unless some creep is doing some of this stuff on the hoof )

Regards turning up at interviews scruffy??? Depends how much so. Been told the shocking story of dude in Glasgow who turned up at interview without having shaved. Interviewer who probably had no intentions of ever giving guy job even before he went thru door…complained to jobcenter and guy had benefits stopped.
If DWP advisor gives you a job to apply for when signing on at JobCenter…you MUST APPLY.
They will check up on that. A lot of ppl get caught out that way. It is essential you hand that form into them, or send it back or if an online, you apply.
If you consider job unsuitable, you tell them there and then. It’ usually too late after you’ve left the office.
Again, if you have an actual personal advisor who sends you a vacancy via e-mail, you have to apply, or try get hold of them to explain why that particular vacancy is not possible to go for, etc.
However, when on UJM and you see these “advisor “ type recommends etc, these tend to be sent by machines rather than actual ppl. You don’t necessarily have to apply for those, but you must nonetheless look at these vacancies, or they will demand to know why you didn’t, as they will know whether you didn’t or did not even look at them by opening the link ! They can tell that.
That said, sometimes advisors when signing will tell you they have SENT you a recommended job. That is one you will have to apply for.

                • I have had an advisor before now who found me a job to apply for every week for a while, and I applied. But he never asked me anything about it next time, he never remembered. I always did it thou, just in case ..

•, weird stuff? That’s just a standard error page that flags up if it thinks the domain is under a DOS attack from hackers. I’ve seen similiar error pages before on other websites.

                • @ Bobchewie. Nothing to worry about. It’s a google 503 error because your firefox is making too many requests to access that website. My firefox never gets that trouble after the numerous internal tweaks I have done to it through its about:config user settings. My firefox is running on super fast, overloaded http network connection tweaks I have done to it, therefore, any website i visit through firefox is so overloaded with http requests from my browser that error pages simply fail to appear. lol.

          • If you apply for these jobs, you never bloomin hear anything anyway, (if you know what to put in your c.v.) so they can test all they want.

            • Hi Robert,

My name is Sarah and I’m working with the Who Benefits? campaign. My focus is on getting the amazing and powerful stories shared with the campaign heard far and wide to help change the debate on benefits.

Thank you for sharing your story with the campaign – you have already helped us to make an impact.

But with a General Election fast approaching and benefits still high up the agenda, the campaign now needs to step up a gear.

That’s why I want to hear from you. We want you and others who have shared their stories to get more deeply involved with this important and exciting campaign.

Will you help us to get your story heard in the media and raise the profile of the campaign in your area?

It’s simple – just complete this short form and tell us how you’d like to be involved. I’ll be in touch to discuss how we can take things forward and answer any questions.

I understand it might be daunting but you’re not going to be alone. I have lots of experience with this sort of work and will support you all the way through to ensure you feel comfortable and happy. I look forward to hearing from you.

              Best wishes

I asked a nurse of my acquaintance whether it was true (as suggested by a commenter on this thread) that the govt was considering removing healthcare from the over-70s. She said ‘No, I think they’re trying too hard to keep people alive. They’re operating on 90-year-olds. It puts the patients under stress and they’re going to die soon anyway.’

Doctors keeping people alive! Whatever next?

  66. off topic (from my neck of the woods)
EXCLUSIVE: Benefits Street producers want new series set in Birkenhead North

“Householders in Fairbrook Drive received letters from programme makers Love Productions inviting them to take part in the reality show”
In a letter to families living in Fairbrook Drive, Love Productions wrote: “We are looking for a really strong community where neighbours look out for one another, have really interesting stories to share and offer their own perspectives of living on benefits.
“We would love the opportunity to speak to everyone on the street whether you are claiming benefits or not.”

The Globe spoke to Fairbrook Drive residents, who said they would not be taking part in the programme.

    • We’ll be seeing endless series of this nature from this production company now. They will see their garbage series “Benefits Street” as being a massive success because of the controversy. In TV land, production life is short for many companies and producers. Love Productions will be cashing in on this ticket for all eternity. Each series will be more exploitative than the last.

  67. So a two-tier NHS service is proposed by the chimpanzees in power. Fucking stinks.

Employed people will continue to recieve first class free health treatment at all the posh hospitals up and down the land.

Un-employed, homeless, disabled, sick and bedroom taxed people will now only be allowed to receive back-street surgery from un-licensed doctors.

  68. The real truth about the Work Programme…

    1) Only finds and gives work to those people who like using power to bully and intimidate unfortunate jobseekers out of their piss-poor JSA claims.

    2) They only bully people into low-paid/zero-hour contracts or into jobs not relevant to the client’s work history/NVQ training courses in order to fiddle their poor performing figures

    3) Doesn’t work for me, especially when being bullied into making wrong choices. Bastards.

    4) They try to fiddle cash payments through arranged job contracts, even though they made you appliy for the wrong job

Recently, I have been given the job to apply for by a so-called WP advisor; and that this job is not relevant to my warehousing courses/ varied work history and therefore my true potential and abilities will be wasted all through a promise of the WP being offered money if I was to accept this ill-thought out job vacancy.

I know what I will be saying in my comments the next time I attend…

”The work you want, the help you need” as stated on the JCP posters. Not what I get from this place I attend when I am bullied into giving the answer they want after first saying NO to their rotten job referral.

    • Well if your work history is THAT varied, a bit of somethin else wont make much diff will it Pal? If you are as young as I think you are you are a bit shagged if you get offered the job, and the same if you dont
apply. If it is that bad turn up at the interview all scruffy and dont say much. Works a treat.

  69. Just tell the bastards, “You know where they live”
    Plant the seed.

Iain Duncan Smith has been branded a coward after slipping out of the back door of a JobCentre to avoid protesters gathered at the front.

The Secretary of State for Work and Pensions was on a visit to Bath to see his controversial benefit reforms in action when he was confronted by the protesters.

Faced with having to drive past the activists, the politician decided to wait at the back entrance for his car and then jog four metres into the back of the Range Rover to avoid confrontation.

“He obviously doesn’t care. He can’t claim to care about us if he does this.”

    • IDS is showing his true colours as a vicious bully and thug. Fucks us over with welfare attacks and yet when he is confronted for attacking us, he simply fucking runs away with his tail between his legs.

Only cowards and bullies threaten people and then run away crying when they are themselves bullied.

    The Work Programme – update:

MINISTERS have terminated the contract of a back-to-work firm in Yorkshire after figures showed 88 per cent of its clients did not find a long-term job.

Employment Minister Esther McVey announced yesterday she is ending the contract held by Newcastle College Group (NCG) to deliver the Government’s flagship Work Programme across North and East Yorkshire after figures showed it helped just 2,400 of its 20,000 referrals to find lasting work between 2011 and 2013.

Ms McVey said NCG’s performance in Yorkshire was the worst of all 40 private work programme contractors across the UK. A further 10 companies have been placed in ‘special measures’ and ordered to improve.

    • Good. The sooner the WP is scrapped the better. All it is doing is bullying people into in-appropiate jobs not relevant to their training, skills, experence or work history for the sake of obtaining job outcome payments through arranged mis-applications and to try and bolster their WP poor performance targets.

      • Obi Wan Kenobi

Not so brainwashed then Ehh Ms McVey!

Put another 20 of these parasitical private provider contracts out to dry, then you’re standing with the unemployed may improve.

One is a start so try and build on that, make believers out of us all.

If I access this website – – through my chrome browser, very briefly a secret page flashes up before the current UJM log-in page appears.

The secret page has re-direct link in which it asks users to tell them what they think of Universal Jobmatch via a three-minute survey questionaire.

Has anybody else on this JV blog site seen this secret easter egg page very briefly before the proper log-in page appears?

    • Obi Wan Kenobi

If they want users to tell what they think, then go right ahead and please be honest and truthful – tell them it’s a bag of wank and include all the newspaper links that show UJM up for what it actually is.

      • @ Obi

The three-minute survey option entitled ‘Tell us what you think of’ only appears on the extremely brief secret alternative (text-only) log-in page for Universal Jobmatch. The catch is, this hidden log-in page is visible for half a second only through Chrome browser and the survey link doesn’t work – I tried clicking on it but nothing happens.

  74. Obi Wan Kenobi

In the half second the page is viewable hit the PRT SCR (Print Screen) button on your keyboard, then open your Microsoft Word programme, then paste it into MS Word.

You will then be able to read the page in full, if possible try to put it up on here.

  75. @ Obi.

I have the hidden page pasted into MS Word as a jpeg. But how do I then upload the image onto here?

  76. Obi Wan Kenobi

One thing I noticed earlier this week when I went to sign on.

The reception area of my local JCP was heaving, it was full to capacity with the under 25’s which is unusual, normally it’s the usual mixed age group.
Once I had got upstairs and sat down with my adviser she explained that there was a big drive on to see the under 25’s and get them on some sort of training programmes due to Nick Cleggs new initiative.

I’m nearly 50 and it was the quickest signing on I have had to date, less than 3 minutes and I was signed on and walking back out of the door.

    • Nice to see the goons banging on about driving down youth unemployment whilst everyone over 25+ gets put on the scrapheap or bunged off to a corrupt Work programme only interested in fiddling cash payment outcomes for dodgy job referrals not relevant to the client’s work history

      • Obi Wan Kenobi

Not that I’m complaining you understand, it was a nice change of pace not to be put though the ringer.

        • True. Sometimes it’s the same for me. Some weeks I am in and out in less than 3 minutes, other times I am having to sit and suffer for 10+ minutes or every so often have to wait as there is a backlog and arranged signing times are more than half hour behind schedule.

It’s okay for them to sign you late (half hour or more from usual signing times ) if there is a backlog to get through, but if you are late by one minute a sanction is threatened for late attendance…

        • Obi Wan Kenobi

Very true because the person you hand your signing card to once you have got in makes a note of the time you give it to them.

Some at my JCP office are ok, I know a few prople who work there which I have dealt with in the past who know I’m genuine, so if you’re a couple of minutes late they won’t say anything.

BUT if you get one of these ardent (Rule obeying little toadies that brown nose the managers) fuckers, you’re screwed!

          • Those JCP chimps either play good cop or bad cop. Guess who is telling them to trample the life out of us if we object to their blatant bullshit. The most hated fuckcunt in the world after Saddam Hussein…. IDS

            • Obi Wan Kenobi

              Very good annalogy.

              IDS – Saddam Hussein:

1st Stage: First they both dictated to their people.
2nd Stage: They made laws their people had to obey, or else.
3rd Stage: Hussein got hanged by the neck until he was dead, what will IDS’s fate be?

              • How about sending IDS to the gas chamber? It would suit him very well, considering that he talks a load of hot air all of the time and evades the fucking truth when challenged.

Fucking tinpot slap headed nazi troll he is. And I am putting this mildly…

                • @AWP welcome to Britain.
I go on instagram which is s photo site it has nice nice landscapes
However in truth its shallow as shit for dumb people
Pictures of boybands with ever repeating phrases like OMG sexy and ” they are perfect ” which is nonsense .then there are religious idiots that post things like ” you have no identity without God ”
Then the obvious adverts for shoes cars watches food ..
Then comes the stereotype pictures of London which is met with ” I love london ” and ppl who really think that house of parliament is Hogwarts
Then the disney page which plugs their crap
And stupid young American who really think Disney created Alice in Wonderland and snow white and Winnie the pooh instead of Disney plagiarising the original in order the marketize and rebrand everything as their own
Anyway today a young lady posted how she was so excited about visiting London as it was her dream
So me being pragmatist told her the reality of poverty homeless foodbankd corruption in govt
And just as i suggested a place in London away from the phoney tourist part I was blocked !!
Nope you must not tell tourists the truth keep up the illusion of ‘ pretty quaint old London town like in Mary Poppins movies
Welcome to the modern fucking world

                • I couldn’t have said it better myself 🙂

              • I for one would cheer. I quite enjoyed watching em string Saddam up ..

          • Good Cop - Bad Cop

It’s all a great big mindfuck, Obi. You never watched any cop shows?

    • Does nobody else see something wrong here? Since when did a 24 yr old class as being different from an adult? When I was younger you got
8 quid knocked off you hb by the council, but you didnt get shunted onto some toss training scheme every five minutes. We had already been earning a mans wage for 5 years by then.

  77. @Bobchewie

You might find this information quite interesting about the person behind –

  78. [IMG][/IMG]

  79. Ignore my two above posts. I don’t have a Twitter account as I can’t be a***d to create one.

    • @AWP I found Audrey Foster. She is connected to DWP

      • The crabby cow. I bet the DWP have given her full blessing to run that website in order to entrap the unsuspecting JSA ‘customers’ who are not internet savvy.

    • Obi Wan Kenobi

You can post a picture link from a Twitter account on these forums and it will display, same as a video link does from YouTube. Don’t try and post a picture directly from you’re home computer as you’re ip address will be tracable.

Not sure if this image link will work or not here…

  81. Re-uploaded my screenshot of the hidden log-in page used on Universal Jobmatch to a bigger image size as proof this secret page exists…

  82. Obi Wan Kenobi

If you’re going to post a picture or video, please do it though a medium website.

    • Found this two-part audio clip on youtube if anybody wants to laugh, cry, pull their hair out or even hang themselves at the blatant lies spouted from the most hated man in the world –

      (Part 1)

      (Part 2)

      • overburdenddonkey

ids is absurd….be positive he says, i say no! be real….

        • Obi Wan Kenobi

          OBD and Chewie:

You both as we all are on here against the current Govenment and especially the odious IDS/DWP.

Please find some common ground, DWP would love in fighting, don’t give them the plesure of monitoring it happening.

          • overburdenddonkey

your are plain wrong on this….i find common ground with most people most of the time but on this i cannot…the only way i can comply is to shut up and not speak my mind….

            • Obi Wan Kenobi

These forums are here for people to speak their minds – otherwise what’s the point. You have every right to put your thought’s and point across as does Chewie.

              • overburdenddonkey

it is very clear that i know that…goodbye…

                • DWP plans to ditch ridiculed jobs website

                  UJM is bye bye.
Is Universal Credit next to follow ?

                  Bye bye Smiffy

                • Don’t have problems with donkey as such..

Most times agree on stuff. Its just that I am puzzled by him saying I should not post stuff which I think is relevant to what we are trying to do here

I hope donkey comes back at some point….

                  I mean no I’ll will
                  To anyone…

Just a bit confusedwhen iI post stuff that seems to fit and told I shouldn’t

I’m not angry just puzzled thats all

I like obi posts I like geoff posts and something survived always makes me chuckle

  83. Instead of finding disagreements on here with each other’s comments, we should really all unite as one in fighting against the DWP/JCP/WP/ATOS bollocks foisted on us on a daily basis.

The DWP would have a field day if they knew we let them get away with fucking up the country by complaining or arguing amongst ourselves.

I would rather fight for my rights and my ground on the JCP any day against some tinpot civil servant and make them look like a complete twat then see us bloggers trying to score points from whom is right or wrong regarding posted comments on here.

So, let’s fight the DWP cunts and drive the most hated slap headed berk (with a false CV and shit for brains) out of his cushy job and onto the dole at one of his beloved jobcentres.
