Derby University Accredits Atos Disability Denial Courses!

Derby University have agreed to accredit Atos Healthcare’s training in ‘disability assessment’  meaning that it could be used as part of a qualification towards a degree award.

Paul Wilkinson, Head of Corporate Sales for University of Derby Corporate, has said:   “Accreditation of Atos Healthcare’s Disability Analysis Training is an important development as it demonstrates that the course is meeting the higher education quality standards set by a UK university. We are delighted to be working with Atos Healthcare to support their delivery of training and wish the nurses every success on the training programme.”  more at:  http://www.atoshealthcare.com/UserFiles/File/in-the-press/2011/pr_dwp_university%20accreditation_april%2011_web.pdf

Atos’ disability assessments have led to thousands of sick and disabled people being denied vital benefits and tragically led to suicides.   Several Atos doctors are already facing being struck off the medical register over their treatment of vulnerable claimants.

Atos Healthcare’s  flawed assessments have been repeatedly over-turned  with over 40% of cases winning an appeal against Atos’ assessments in the courts.  Atos staff, which Derby University claim have been trained to  higher education quality standards, have assessed people with terminal cancer and other serious and life threatening medical conditions as being fit for work.

Disabled activists, claimants groups and supporters have been holding regular protests against this organisation whose health testing regime has been dubbed not fit for purpose.  The next Day of Action is being held on September 30th.

Atos Origin and the New Statesman

Disability denying bastards Atos Origin have long had a cosy relationship with the Labour Party who first gave them a contract worth hundreds of millions to strip health related benefits from sick and disabled people.  As recently as this year David Milliband was seen cheering on Atos whilst later giving a speech accusing benefit claimants of ‘ripping off society’.

It seems however that David Milliband (pictured above at their Scotland HQ earlier in the year) is not the only member of the fake left establishment to enjoy the company (and in this case money) from the newly rebranded Atos.

The New Statesman have given coverage to the nationwide protests against Atos Origin and their crude methods which have left thousands of sick and disabled people in poverty and led to many suicides.  Unfortunately they’ve also been only to happy to take money in the form of event sponsorship from the French owned IT giant.  If you back both sides you can’t lose.

Atos Origin have sponsored New Statesman’s Round Table discussions, New Statesman events at the Labour Party Conference and until at least 2007 the New Statesman New Media Awards.

The most recent New Statesman event sponsored by Atos mentioned on their website was in 2009, a round table discussion on defence (PDF).  It is therefore entirely possible that the New Statesman have ended their business relationship with Atos.  New Statesman fringe events at this year’s Labour Party conference have not yet been announced, so perhaps Atos have been given the cold shoulder there as well.  Here’s hoping.

The problem is that over a week ago the New Statesman were emailed with the questions:

Will Atos be sponsoring any New Statesman events at this year’s Labour party conference?

Have Atos sponsored any recent New Statesman events, round table discussions or awards, or are they scheduled to sponsor any?

Will New Statesman consider sponsorship from Atos for events in the future?

And they haven’t answered.  Now we know life must be busy in the fast paced world of fake fabian socialism, but we’d like some answers please.

The New Statesman can be contacted at: PressOffice@newstatesman.co.uk or info@newstatesman.co.uk – you can even give them a ring on (0)20 7936 6400 – perhaps if enough people get in touch they may deign to provide us with an answer.

The next National Day of Action Against Atos and Benefit Cuts takes place on the 30th September.

Tory Sleaze Is Back! – George Osborne in Cocaine and Kink Scandal

Former cokehead in charge of nation’s finances!

“George Osborne did take cocaine on that night. And not just on that night. He took it on a regular basis with me, with his friends.”

So has claimed Natalie Rowe, his former Dominatrix on the Australian ABC programme ‘PM’.  Osborne has yet to comment.  Sources say he merely sniffed.  His mate Andy Coulson attempted a clean up job after this story first emerged but now there’s no more News of the World to carry out the Tory Party’s dirty work.

The word is he was also paying for the services of Ms Rowe and used the name ‘Louise’ as his ‘safeword’ for when the spankings got too much.

Which is (just about) a coincidence as Tory MP Louise Mensch was also recently outed as a drug user.  She called it ‘tabloid nonsense’.  Osborne, and Cameron who’s also a former illegal drug user have always refused to deny it.  They say it is part of their private life.  Try explaining that to a magistrate.  1400 people were imprisoned last year for possession of drugs.

National Day of Action Against Atos Origin and the poverty pimps!

We aren’t going anywhere!

Atos Origin have £300 million contract with the Con-dem Government to continue carrying out ‘work capability assessments’.

It is claimed assessments are to test what people can do rather than what they can’t. The real purpose is to strip benefits from as many people as possible.

This testing system has already led to people with terminal illnesses and severe medical conditions being declared fit for work and having benefits cut. GP’s are ignored in favour of decisions made by Atos Origin’s computer.

Plans announced for the scrapping of Disability Living Allowance have also revealed that this intrusive testing is likely to be extended to everyone on some form of disability or health related benefit.

To date around 40% of appeals against Atos Origin’s decisions have been successful.

Atos have now extended their harassment of sick and disabled by using legal threats to silence websites which have been critical of them: http://johnnyvoid.wordpress.com/2011/08/22/atos-origin-vs-the-internet-stop-atos-censorsing-the-web/

Organise and take action on the 30th September! Please list details in the comments below or email notowelfarecuts@yahoo.co.uk and we’ll try maintain a list here.

In London people will be gathering outside the BMJ Careers Fair where Atos will be attempting to recruit yet more ‘disability assessors’.
