Boris Booed at Pride

July 6, 2008 · 4 Comments

We didn’t see it ourselves but our trusted sources tell us that Boris Johnson was routinely booed along the length of the Gay Pride march in London yesterday.  And this is a crowd that later on cheered the Daleks.

It’s no real surprise that the man who compared gay marriage to bestiality should be unpopular amongst London’s gay and lesbian community.  What is surprising is that the chinless twat turned up in the first place.

With his administration falling apart at the scenes faster than anyone could even of hoped for it will be intersting to see if Boris has the gall to show up at the Rise festival next weekend in Finsbury Park.  Sales of rotten eggs are set to soar if the bumbling fuckwit has got the guts to face the people of Central London.

Although to give him credit, he’s doing a fine job of showing up the Tories as being the bad joke they are.

Well my trusted sources – my own ears marching almost right behind Boris – heard far more cheering of him than booing. Not that you’ll hear that in biased sources.

And Pride no longer uses the exclusionary term “Gay” – it is for all the LGBT community, not a part of it.

a genuine double-barrelled chinless one right here on the void. should we doff our caps? you’ll be pleased to know that a quick search reveals even the mainstream press are reporting that Boris got rightly booed, so I’ll take your plummy chat with a pinch of salt if that’s ok.

and i’d rather not take a lecture on my terminology from someone supporting a nasty bigot who compared gay marriage to bestiality, if that’s ok.

get a job you fucking student.

The booing we heard was minor and always a minority of those lining the relevant part of the route. One group chanting “we want Ken” was particularly notable for containing several known Labour party members.

As for your silly jibes about my surname, there are numerous reasons for having a double-barrelled surname these days (including many who were on the march because of the civil partnership legislation) so before you start calling other people bigots perhaps you should get over your own outdated prejudices. And I do take jobs as well as working towards my doctorate.

Finally on the terminology I will pick up people using outdated terminology when making political points. LGBT is about far more than just words it is about inclusion in a way that the outdated terms of “Gay” and “Lesbian and Gay” are not.

well you’re either a posh kid or class traitor you tory tosspot

i’m not sure which is worse

and if you were on the march supporting civil partnerships then why are you defending someone who compared it to marrying a dog as well as supported keeping Section 28?
