It’s G8 time again, where the richest countries of the world meet up to plot how they can squeeze yet more money out of the poorest people in the world. This year the meeting takes place in Japan where a programme of protest and direct action is planned.
A solidarity demonstration outside the Japanese Embassy (101-104 Piccadilly) will be held in London at noon on Friday. Then on Saturday a Critical Mass ride will leave Brixton at 10 am to meet with protesters in Croydon at around 12.30 where several of the various immigration processing and holding centres are based.

And that’s not all folks. Northern folk can head to the Menwith Hill US base near Harrogate on Friday for some 4th July Celebrations. The snappily named Campaign for the Accountability of American Bases will be holding a protest from 5pm with music, food and unfortunately speakers. And finally tomorrow a bunch of green types are holding a paper plane flash mob outside the Dept. of Transport at 11.00am. That’ll learn ‘em.
We’re off to slit our wrists in anticipation.
