Get Foxtons

February 23, 2008 · 10 Comments

Everyone’s hating money grabbing parasites Foxtons Estate Agents at the moment. These guys, really hate Foxtons and Class War have called for a boycott of the Islington branch on March 3rd stating:

“Monday March 3rd at 3pm sees Class War’s picket of Foxtons in Islington, in a demonstration against the greatest con-men of our time – estate agents. We’ve been ripped off by them, and are sick of them driving up house prices in our part of town.”

Things must be bad when even Class War are worried about property prices.

Picket Foxtons: Islington Branch, 355 Upper Street, 3 pm – 7pm March 3rd

Class War worrying about property prices? Sounds a bit bourgeois to me….

[...] on Upper Street for their role in “driving up house prices in our part of town”. [Hat-tip: Johnny Void] Ah yes, house prices, ever the hot topic at left caucus meetings. Time to update the old slogans [...]

House prices directly affect the accessibility and availability of housing for everyone, but especially the working class – for them, particularly, the housing squeeze is increasing.

The social housing stock is decreasing whilst waiting lists increase. This inevitably leaves the options down to private rentals or owner occupation. However housing costs impact on rents, private rentals being considerably more expensive than social housing, and clearly purchase price puts most houses well out of reach for many people.

The trouble with Foxtons, and their ilk, is that they artificially inflate prices to increase their commissions. They also expand their operations into traditional working class areas, with their pricing policies, which further restricts housing availability for the working class.

We should all support Class War’s picket at Foxtons, the target is justified.

Bridget – Didn’t the Lib Dems recently flog off loads of council’s property in Islington housing charities and also lockups for Chapel Market. Some of this property was resold straight away and the deals cutrrently under investigation. ( quick big profits ). Even one of your collegues I spoke to ( Haringey Lib Dem ) referred to Islington’s Lib Dems as an abberration.! It’s all just part of opaciity in local governement along with dodgy corporat dealings ( hence the council turning up for a consultation at Archway with a preplanned deal with greedy uselesss developers St Modwen.
Alomg with the ALMOs, rules for market rents for so-called social housing, shiots like Wimpeys and Laings, buy to let, and property specualtion it all goes to rob the dispossesed of England. Anyone attending the Landlord and Buy To Let fair at the Olympia in April? Or maybe a visit to Ms Beeney and the rest of those CH4 property obsessed scumbags.
Labour, lib dem, torys, they are all overpaid, greedy and have ruined this country. Wgo can afford rent? You expect welfare to work to profit your corporate partners and bogus trainign/employment agencies. Rent should never be more than 10% of income according to Beveridge. Fat chance.

It’s all a big fit up and another attack on the poor – like we cannot spot propaganda with that idiot royal in Afghanistan to hide all the bad news.

Who are the state scrougers, Politicians and their consultant mates watstying bilions of pounds of taxpayers money.
